Ahhh, I was able to exchange my damaged box for a new one yesterday...this is officially off the list.

It really DOES seem like an outstanding vehicle...new sculpts are always a plus for me.

Did anyone else hear/read any body else saying this was found?

Yes, one of the posters on Jedi Insider's forums claimed to have picked this up recently at a Walmart in Chicago. I have asked for additional details (pics, sku#, etc) but so far no response.

I think 9/5 was the release data on the display case placard at SDCC...so hopefully these start showing up soon.

I have wanted one of these bad boys since Ani jumped on top of one in the CW movie.

Vintage Kenner / Re: New To Vintage Collecting? Some Tips!

Thanks for the info, that is great to know!

I have tried to be pretty selective about the loose figs I am picking up, most are from reputable dealers with 100% feedback and have detailed descriptions and photos. I have definitely noticed a few auctions that seem intentionally vague out there.

Last stupid question - what kind of a grading scale is being used on these things? I see lots of C10 and C9.5 but I have no idea what those points correspond to. Is it some kind of AFA standard?

I picked up Walrus Man and R2-D2 last night for less than $12 combined. I actually already have both figures but the condition is pretty poor. R2's stickers did not survive well over the years, and Walrus Man had some rather unfortunate burn marks to the face. (Yes, I was a disturbed kid  ;) )

I have been scoping these out on eBay as well because it is one of the last few remaining figs on my list, outside of the minor variants like smiling Lando, brownhair Luke, etc.

I was really surprised how cheap they are. Most I have seen have gone for less than $100.

I definitely plan on picking one up in the next week or two...

I can see I'll be spending a lot of time in here.  ;D

I have caught the vintage collecting bug BAD in the past few weeks. I was a dedicated collector in my younger days and then lost interest around the time Kenner went under.

I got back into the whole thing with the first Clone Wars animated series. (Tartakovsky = brilliant) From there I morphed seamlessly into the CGI CW merchandise. I have pretty much everything CW related that is currently available, so my interest soon gravitated back to the original Kenner swag.

Luckily most of my early collection survived, with the exception of a few vehicles and playsets, so after a quick review I found I only needed about 18 more figs for a complete collection. And with that, the hunt was on.

Luckily eBay and I are old friends, so I have not had much trouble scoring the remainders so far. I can already see Yak Face will the the last to pick up. Even loose that mother is pricey!

I do have a question about "repro" weapons - I often see this noted in auction listings. Are these vintage era weapons from other figures being substituted or post-80's reproductions, like from the "Saga" re-releases?

I try to steer clear of anything that isn't 100% authentic or complete, but I'm still curious what that REPRO tag implies.

One of the posters on Jedi Insider just announced they found the Octuparra Droid at Wal-Mart over the weekend. If true, that is a sweet score because it isn't even due out until 9/5. The photos from SDCC were tauntalizing!

I have only seen 1 of these in the Richmond VA area, bought it immediately, but the box was damaged so now I am really jonesing to exchange it for a pristine version. (Yes, I am a non-opener)

They are really scarce for some reason...I smell a shortpack.

Around here (Central VA) TRU is the only retail outlet stocking those 2 new BP's. I haven't seen a single one show up at Target yet.

I really want to know what is up with the Rishi Moon Outpost Attack BP...that thing was due 8/7 and I haven't heard ANYTHING about it recently.

BTW, awesome forum...this is the third one I have joined in as many weeks and am psyched to be here!
