The Clone Wars '08-'13 / Re: 2010 Clone Wars Packaging

I like the new packaging myself.  The card game does nothing for me but then again neither should action figures but they do!

Well I think part of the reason for strong EU showings in these polls is that those figures have a tougher time of actually getting made.  A lot of people probably just assume that whatever is from the OT and PT is going to get made eventually.  So, they may vote for EU instead.  To be honest they have made practically everything from the OT that we would be dying to get.  I want to see Sim Aloo made as much as the next OT loving person but it's not exactly something everyone else is clamoring for.  It's pretty much scraping the bottom of the barrell now for OT figures.

I am suprised they are rebooting Spider Man.  It seems like that franchise just got started.  The 3rd one was not the best but that's because they shoved way to much stuff into it.  It had Sandman, The Goblin 2, Venom, and a black Spidey outfit.  I think they just should have made another one with Tobey and had him fight one villian.  Now we are going to get Peter Parker falls for Mary Jane, gets bit by the spider, becomes SpiderMan, and most likely fights the Goblin.  We just saw that film it seems like.  Hopefully it comes out good.  I truly hope they don't try to make it all dark like Batman though.  I am not in the mood for a serious Spidey.

Yeah, KOTOR seems to do well in these polls.  Me, I never really played it so it's not appealing to me at all.  I got to admit that none of the top 5 do much for me at all.  I guess Bastilla makes the most sense she seems to be pretty popular.  At least I have heard of her.  Plagueis (sp?) looks just like the Emperor so I can't get to hyped for him.  I have no idea who Cadeus (sp?) is.  I see that he was in a novel though.  Jocasta is ok.  I would not mind having a figure of her really but she's not something I was dying to get.  Jaxxon would be sort of fun for something campy but I can't really say that I would actually buy it.  I hate to poop on the parade but they are all just kind of underwhelming choices to me overall.  I mean really?  That's the top 5?  I know they have made a lot of figures over the years that a lot of people wanted.  Honestly, I would be more excited if Bom Vimdin won the poll or even an Imperial Dignitary.

The Vintage Collection / Re: 2010 Boba Fett Mail-Away Offer?

Besides Boba being the mail-away offer at least the vintage cardbacks sound interesting enough.  I know some people are going be upset the prequel figures will be on them.  I actually think it will be decent looking.

I do because it takes me straight out of the movie or whatever it is I am watching.

Then you must really hate ROTS...

There are a few scenes yes.

Hopefully whatever it is that they have planned for the 30th anniversary of ESB I hope it is all revealed at Toy Fair.   So, it would be nice to see the AT-AT (if it exists), Slave I (again if they are making it) a finished Snowspeeder and Cloud Car.  I hope they show us the ESB Han Solo with the "never before seen jacket" or whatever they said in the Q&A.  If there was ever a year to bring out a Torryn Farr this would be it but I am not "expecting" to see it at Toy Fair, but if she is planned let's see it!

Of course any of figures they have planned would be nice to see as always.  There have a been a few surprise figures the past few shows like Comic Con and Toy Fair so hopefully that continues.

I would not mind knowing what repacks they are going to have next year.  I thought a blue painted Jango Fett was coming.  So, stuff like that I would not mind seeing what they have in mind.  I hope the Resurgence of the Jedi Luke Skywalker is in that mix.

Yeah, an attempt at the most famous environment in the whole damn Star Wars saga...The Death Star.... playset would be nice to see.  God knows it got enough "screen time"  LOL!

Clone Wars - I would like to see what Mandalorian figures they are going to come up with.  Along with a few Jedi like Eeth Koth and Ki-Adi-Mundi versions.

Vehicles - From the Clone Wars the Republic Attack Shuttle, Clone Swamp Speeder, Federation Battle Ship.  I would not mind a red repaint of the Y-Wing Fighter.  Again not exactly expecting to see this stuff, but it would be nice!

I do because it takes me straight out of the movie or whatever it is I am watching.  I hate it when someone like John Mellencamp is entertaining the crowd with what made him popular...his music.  Then has to bitch about George Bush in the middle of the damn concert.  Not that I really care for Bush, but just sing your songs.  I did not pay money to hear about YOUR political views and then pass it along like everyone feels the exact same way.  It irritates the $%^# out of me when celebs or entertainment does that.  It's like an ad in the middle of whatever you are watching.  Annoying.

Anyway, rant done.  LOL.

At least the AT-RT is in there.  That actually may be worth the $16.99 pricetag.  Or at least close to it.  The Desert Skiff and others not so much.  My son did get the Can-Cel and Anakin set for Christmas.  At least that Anakin has knee articulation and a soft goods "skirt" so he can actually ride in vehicles, etc.  It was not worth $16.99 but I did not have to buy it! I am just happy he is actually playing with the big bug.

The Legacy Collection / Re: Toy Fair Poll - Best Hasbro Pack-In?
« on: January 7, 2010, 11:02 AM »
The most useful are the BAD and stands.  For some reason my favorite is still the coins.  Maybe it's the sentimentality from the vintage POTF days?  I am not really wanting them to give us coins again though.  I just like them.

It looks like they are going to justify the high price by including a speeder :)  Hasbro can't be to upset if that is how it gets leaked.  It looks like their own ad.  Anyway cool news if true.

Well yeah a lot of that is the price of the movie tickets being as high as they are now.  Also, it's just getting a lot of good word to mouth and came out at a great time.  Back-to-back holiday weekends are gold especially for a super-hyped film.  I actually tried to see it this weekend and it was sold out both times.  I tried on 2 different days.  I am not someone that shows up 5 mins before the start of the movie either.  It's going to do well with no competition to speak of for awhile.  Hmmmm, kind of reminds me of Titanic's run.  There was nothing to compete with it either for a long time.  I am not saying it's going to take it over but it's going to do darn well for a good for at least the month of January.

I saw that Gone with the Wind holds the record for the estimated amout of tickets sold at 202 million.  Star Wars is second with 178 million.  That's really the number we should look at.  Not only that but those movies came out when there were no movieplexes to speak of.  So, you did not have this run it all day long in 3-4 theatres.  Crazy!

I think they are just slow in general with this stuff.  It will get made but I don't know if it will even be in 2011.  Maybe but 2015?

So far I am actually enjoying season 2 more than season 1.   Yeah, in the last episode Anakin telling the clonetroopers to "leave us" was a nice nod to ROTS.  Gotta like his interrogation tactics.  They are definately showing his attachement to Ahsoka this season along with that other episode where she was trapped underneath the ground and Luminara was basically resigned to the fact that the padawans were dead.  I like the angle anyway.
