RIP..............25 years ago today.

Any idea who I'm talking about?  Here's a hint, died by choking on his own vomit (trust me, not a good thing to do, mixing marijuana and booze is not bright - THC inhibits the gag reflex).   Not enough?  Only band to never release a slow song/waltz?  That eliminated Metallica, Zeppelin, Guns N Roses, Pearl Jam and many more.

The answer is......Bon Scott - 25 years ago today.  Perhaps the most amazing comeback in the history of rock and roll, AC/DC.

An absolutely stunning band to see live, with an incredible history of fantastic, blues based hard rock/heavy metal sound.   I feel sorrow for the loss of Bon Scott but Brian Johnson has filled in incredibly well.  Back in Black was one of the most amazing albums of all time, all the more so because it was not expected following the loss of Bon Scott.  Zeppelin couldn't or wouldn't recover.  The Who did.   I can't imagine anyone else pulling it off though.

A band I will never miss in concert given the opportunity.  Our local radio station is playing a weekend tribute to Bon Scott, three songs every hour and a half or so.  It is major cool and my wife thinks I'm nuts 8)

Word.

If there's one rock band that kept their edge and never sold out, it's AC/DC. Even after Bon's death, they kept going strong, and few (if any) bands recover that well after losing their frontman.

RIP Bon Scott.

Of the 3 music videos I have from ACDC, My favorite is the one where Bon Scott is a priest singing "Let There Be Rock".

Personality...Intensity...Rhythm...Style. Bon Scott had it all...I really love his band and wish I could've been alive to see them perform.

RIP.

New album this summer =  new tour = 8th time seeing them in the last 20 years ;D

Although Brian Johnsons voice has been gradually getting bad over the last 10 years (at least live) they still are a band not to miss live.  And to think that Angus was only 15 when they cut some of there first songs for High Voltage.

I was checking around for tour dates last night and nothing announced yet.  You can be certain I will see them.  I just hope they come here though.

Bon Scott was THE MAN.  IMO, AC/DC went downhill after his death.  Even though they made a fitting tribute to him with Back In Black, they didn't have his attitude anymore.  Only Bon could sing "Big Balls".

BTW...this should be changed to "The Official Webster; Bearer of Bad Celebrity News - Appreciation", as I don't post deaths anymore and Webster has apparantly taken the vacated spot over at RS.
