The teacher gave me a CD with the video burned on it, so, I'm looking over it right now.

Lars ain't gonna like that...

It's a shame that they didn't have you write a paper on the brilliant Hollywood flick, 2 Fast 2 Furious.  :-[

aka, Fast and Furiouser

Truth be told, I found the soliders to be more scary than the infected.  I found them far more dangerous, since their intellect remained intact, but their morals were thrown out the window.

Very 'Lord of the Flies'-like. It's understandable the infected will try to satisfy their desires whatever way they can, but we really don't expect a large group of people conditioned to obey and maintain order to fall into lawlessness the way the soldiers had. They actually went through the charade of being the protectorate.

Costco retails it for ~$43. (~$33 with the coupon. Woohooo.)

Stopped by Fry's around lunchtime today. Didn't see any. Either they were doling them from a counter out or they were totally out.

Also saw the BSG set at Costco for *gulp* $80. And I understand it's even more at other places. *gulp* *gulp*

Haven't seen this mentioned yet; excuse me if I missed it. Costco is selling some 2-packs of dvds for $20. It includes a certificate for $10 off for the upcoming Indy boxed set.

The only 2-pack I like consists of We Were Soldiers and Apocalypse Now: Redux. (But 1 set is all I need to get the certificate.)

I can't remember the exact pairings, but some movies are: Enemies at the Gate, Payback, Along Came a Spider; a few of the Jack Ryan movies.

I'm not sure if this is the same article I vaguely remember reading, but it answers your question anyway.

He likes sarsaparilla, too, which may taste like root beer but isn't. America used to drink sarsaparilla, says the king -- now it can't even spell it.

The only thing better would be a frosty mug of root beer with a bowl of steaming crispy onion rings.

Saga '02-'04 / Re: For those considering KEBco Toys:
« on: August 26, 2003, 11:32 PM »
The initial complaints were for KEBco charging customers' cc for the balance even though the orders wouldn't ship for several weeks. Some were annoyed that it took 2-3 weeks to get an email response.

One writer relayed the crappy correspondence he had with "Scott"; a "he said, she said" about when his order would ship.

Ken, the owner, posted. He apologized for the problems and explained that because they were understaffed, for the sake of efficiency they would charge customers en masse before sorting the merchandise and processing the orders, which could take a few weeks. He also said they were reviewing their software, which automatically posted inventory availability and such on their website. Basically, typical speak to try to calm the natives.

Then Scott, the business manager, posted. Woo hoo.

So-and-so is a liar. I never said this. I never said that. He's a liar.

Another "he said, she said" ensued.

The poster accused of lying reprinted an email he received from Scott that day telling him to never visit the KEBco site again.

Scott started another thread for comments and suggestions because he wanted to leave behind the trashing KEBco was receiving in the other thread.

One of the ditties he wrote was his own complaint of how dissatisfied customers didn't bother emailing or calling him directly instead of taking it public.

Several who watched from the sidelines as this little drama develop posted on the threads essentially telling Scott that he wasn't acting in a professional manner and his onscreen behavior would scare away customers.

Philip explains why the threads were closed. KEBco Toys Topics

I came across the E-wing and TIE Defenders 2-3 times at Target and the TIE Defenders an additional 2 more times during TRU's clearance days. I have a TD but never thought about picking up an extra to trade for an e-wing, which I passed on.

I noticed the prices on many of the ships climbing again, probably spurred by the uncertainty of the line's future. The $222, though, is f'n unbelievable.

I gave the sets to my nephews when they were around 4-1/2. These are the only SW toys that hold their interest for an extended period.

JCPenny's also carried this last year.

Soul for Real's Candy Rain.

I'm sure I didn't intentionally order it. I was in BMG's cd service and I think it was the selection of the month. I must've forgot to mail away the do-not-send card.

That's my story and I'm sticking to it.

It's not like Hasbro to only make a small batch of any ship. There has to be more than what little has shown up at retail. Hopefully the remainder is just stuck sitting in some warehouse in the Far East and will eventually be distributed.

Btw, I noticed that prices for the older AF, which had dropped in recent months, are on the rise again.

Clone Wars '03-'05 / Re: Ships at TRU
« on: July 27, 2003, 08:26 PM »
I can see that happening but apparently not in this case. All 9 at that TRU were re-sealed. I thought it might be an isolated incident, so I checked when I went to another TRU yesterday. The 4 there were also re-sealed. Same size tape, too.

Over-zealous quality assurance inspector at the factory?  Or maybe an insecure compulsive obsessive worker?

Hmmm. :P

On a related note, are you people finding that your Jedi Starfighters appeared to have been opened and resealed (at the tape area.

I haven't picked up the new Jedi Starfighter, nor have I checked out the several I've seen, but I've noticed the re-seal on two other Hasbro products -- all of the Imperial Forces 4-pk in the 3 TRU I go to and all of the black/blue Batmobile in at least 1 TRU.

Baby Got Back - Sir Mix-a-Lot.
Although he's had a lot of success behind the scenes.

Speaking of actors who shouldn't sing... How about the cover of
The Clapping Song - Pia Zadora

You Sexy Thing - Hot Chocolate

Yup, these are pretty cool. I have the heads from collections 1-4, 8 and 9, and  Vader and C-3PO. The heads from 8 and 9  I got from Pizza Hut. (I have extras to trade for those who have the walnuts from 5 and 6.)

During Galoob's buzzboard days, JKF gave away a whole bunch of set #2. I could kick myself for not entering that 'contest', especially since he also gave away the 2nd wave of Epic Collections.
