Star Wars Action Figures / Re: Customs by Fritzkrieg Update 12-17-2005

Very cool looking clone.  I like the use of the AoD figure. The decaying head showing through the helmet makes this figure perfect.   I can see this figure being used in some dio when Luke or Han stumble upon it in some jungle.

Darth Nirvana - Thanks for the comments.  I went with the AOTC torso, because to me, the ROTS torso looked too blocky and square.  The AOTC torso had more of a torso shape to me.  Also I wanted to give him some height compared to Obi, and the AOTC upper legs seem to be  a little longer than the ROTS legs.

jedistyle - The robotic hand was a toss up for me.  I like the idea of him showing the hand, but it does seem kinda out of place with the armor.  I might try to drybrush the hand with silver to give it a better flow.

Fritzkrieg - I prefer sculpted plastic capes as well (as on the Obi figure), but none of the plastic vader capes that I had fit well with the figure.

Master_Phruby - Thanks, the undershirt is a great idea. What shade of blue were you thinking about? In normal light (no camera flash) the skin tones look pretty close.  I think the main reason they look different under a flash is that the head is fleshtone plastic and the neck is painted so they take to the flash differently.

Talabar -  I like the use of the bustup bossk for this figure.  I had never thought of using bustups as custom fodder.  The bustup makes this figure its own unique Trandoshan instead of a Bossk clone.  Great job.

Continuing on with my Clone Wars series, here is Anakin Skywalker as he might have appeared in the Clone Wars.  I went with a black metallic color for the armor to show his slow decent towards the darkside and to tie together his transformation into Darth Vader.

That saber really ties the whole vintage theme for dooku together.  It looks great.

Customizing Tips and Tricks / Re: Fodder Alert - 11/15

I was able to find them at my local Walmart, but they weren't located with rest of the action figures, they were on the aisle with the hotwheels and the other toy cars.

I chose Darth Revan from KOTOR.

Thanks for the comments guys.

InRem - sorry about ruining your childhood infatuation with her.  I will make it up to ya and make another custom of her to correct that for you.   :)

Glassman - Thanks for the suggestion, I am working on a bag for Han, but i didn't know what to fill it with.  I think blasters are a great idea.

Chewie -  I would be greatly honored if JD did that.  JD, feel free to use my pics if ya want to.

And I have to correct Phruby, I took second in the contest over at CC. He was the one who actually won the contest with his great christmas yoda.

Wow.. a star destoyer and a death star from owen.  You should at least let him out of your basement and give a break. It is the christmas season you know.   ;D

I can't wait to seem them.  Owen always does a top notch job.

Another great set of customs.

JEDI MASTER KALA MLY SHUNDI -  I really like the use of the sidious bustup hood.  It works really well for a hooded jedi without needing a cloak.

PRISONER RYKROF ENLOE - Poor guy, what did he ever do to you, Chewie?  I can really see the pain in him.  His face actually looks swollen from taking a beating.  Can't wait to see that chapter of your photonovel.

Thanks Chewie!  I hadn't thought of using the VOTC stormtrooper.  I originally had tried the Comm-tech Stormtrooper, but his arms were even longer that the clone troopers.  Now I just need to see if I can find a VOTC cheap.

As for the paints, I have recently started using Cithadel acrylic paints on my SW customs.  They seem to be a little bit thinner than the other acrylic paints (Delta, Folkart, Applebarrel, etc..) that I use to use so that helps with the rubbing and chipping of the paints.  And they also seem to go on smoother.

Thanks for the comments everyone!

Another great set of customs.

BADOO CORBA EXECUTION TERRORIST - A great idea for an exectioner.  I can really feel that he is about to behead someone.  Although I'm not a big fan of that Cobra Commander head in general.  Never liked that version of CC.  Have you seen the latest version of CC with the removable helmet and hood?  I think that hood might work for this figure as well.

DARK JEDI - I really like this figure.  He has a very Darth Sion (KOTOR 2) feel to him.  He looks very big and imposing.  Is the upper torso from the wrestling figures from Dollar General?

JOSSER ENLOE (Rykrof's father) - Great paint apps on this one.  The detail on the vest looks great.

RYKROF ENLOE (smuggler gear) - Another great renditionof Rykrof.  It's good to see him in some non-military garb.

Customs Community and Group Projects / Re: Complete Frustration...

Well that stinks.  What brand is the camera?

Here are a couple of things that I can think.  On some cameras, you have to set the camera to a "connect" setting so that the computer sees the camera as an external drive.  Another option is if the camera has a memory card, you can get a card reader and download the pictures that way.

Thanks for the comments guys.  I'm glad you like them.  I can't take credit for the obi recipe, I borrowed (stole  :)) the idea from Chewie. Thanks Chewie!!

In Rem - Ki-Adi wasn't a straight parts swap.  Just a few minor mods. One of the arms had a peg on it and I had to cut it off and drill a new hole.  I also had to drill the hole on the other arm deeper to accept the peg from the clone trooper.  I also painted the upper legs to closer match the AT-RT's legs.

bjardkerr - Thanks for the comments. As for the weathering, I usually prefer "clean versions" of my customs, but I have recently started weathering some of my figures, but I haven't perfected my weathering look.  So I didn't want to mess up and ruin these customs.  But once I get my weathering down I will probably go back and add some to these figures.

jedipurge - Thanks.  The cape is from Count Dooku (ROTS) and the kama is from Clone Commander (ROTS)

As for Aayla, I wanted to retain the clone trooper look for the most part with this figure.  But I agree that the arms look big.  To me, they make her look monkey-ish.  I might try using Aayla's original arms and adding obi-wan's clone armor from the Jedi vs Sith pack.

Thanks again for all the comments.
