Just a quick post to say we had our baby today, late from the due date of the 16th.
We had a son at 7:30am, 9lbs 10oz! This kid is huge, way bigger than our first two.
No solid name yet, but we're almost set.
There were some complications early on with oxygen saturation for him, but he's been off breathing devices since 5pm today and we expect to have him in our room in the morning.
More on all this later, thanks to all those who have pm'd through the week. The implications of what it means to have two sons and lightsabers around the house is just beginning to sink in...

Cute Kid
Congrats on the second one. Glad to hear all is good.
Well i can say we beat that , both my kids came in over 10 pounds and were delivered natural , my wife is a baby machine, well thats what the doctors said.
-
Congratulations Dean, great looking boy you have there. I'm very happy he and mom are doing well!
-
Awwwwwwww, he's so cute.
Congrats to you and your wife. :)
-
Congrats Dean, those are some incredible pictures. 2 padawans now, eh?
-
Thanks, everyone!

Thanks Jesse. This is actually number three, we have an almost 5 y.o. daughter, a 2 1/2 y.o. son and now this guy. Savannah and Leif love Star Wars, so as long as we can work on sharing this baby should fall in line with the other two.
-
Actually, now that I think of it, I remember your family picture a few months ago with the 2 kids. My bad.
3 kids now. I've got one, but I think someday I'd like to have 3 as well. Not sure why, it just feels right. :)
-
Awww. Adorable!
Absolutley smashing that everything turned out ok!
Congratulations Dean!

Congrats, Dp! I trust the delivery went well, and mom and baby are both doing a-ok? Boy, the dog's really gonna be pissed off now... ;)

So is that gonna be his name for a while, 'til you figure out a better one... "This guy"...? 8) Nameless, or not, congrats to the growing Russell family. 8)
P.S. Paul is not Deanpaul's middle name, fellas. It's PART OF his FIRST name... :-*

Yeah, this is how she took the news when we told her we were going to have another baby... [actually, she's sweet. No problems whatsoever with the kids - this picture was all in the timing as she sneezed.]

It's true. Deanpaul. No space, no hyphen–all one word. Capital D, lowercase p.
Yup, mom and baby are doing well. Everything went well, and the delivery itself was fast. That's one theory why "this guy" might have had trouble with oxygen saturation - not enough time being squeezed by contractions to get all the liquid out of his lungs. I guess it's not uncommon in shorter deliveries...
-
You had to say it. I saw I put Deanpaul and cut it short to be Dean, to follow the trend. Thanks alot. :P
Posative! It's a boy!
Yay!

They let you have more kids?
Congrats to you and Mrs. Russell on the cute little dude. Scott Russell has a nice ring to it if you are still undecided on names :-*
And dude, 9 lbs 10 oz! You need to give your wife an extra hug for giving birth to a middle linebacker :o :)
Congrats again Deanpaul and extended family :)

Congrats Deanpaul!! Looks like he just squeaked into the Pisces pool! Hope all is going well for you and the family.
And sorry for the late congrats. Our second daughter was born March 3rd, and after a month of being a full-time dad to our first daughter, I'm unfortunately back at work (and have time to post again).
Congrats, again!! :)

Back at work = away from your new daughter
Back at work = time to post here
Double edge sword, Stormie! Glad you're back. Thanks for the congratulations, nice to have other new dad company around. Soon we can compare lost accessories and tooth marked figure stories. My first two kids have been good about not biting figures, but if it's an accessory or ball jointed head it's never with the figure anymore.

What a cute kid! Must take after mom!
Did you say you have three other kids?
What are their ages - any potty training tips?
:D
-
ruiner - My son Max (just turned 3) has been trained for at least 6 months now. We sat him on the pot after every meal until he did the deed. It takes a lot of time but he got the hang of it. Bladder control was a little bit trickier. We tried a few times to force him to wear underwear but it was really no use. So we decided to wait until he told us he was ready. Which was around 6 months ago. Man what a relief that was!
-
I agree with Scott. The kid needs to be ready or it's not going to work out.
Our daughter Savannah is five. She was trained before our son was born, when she was 2. It was her idea, and pee was easier than poop. We actually bought a doll as a "reward" to get the ball rolling. The doll was put on a high shelf, and the first time she was successful on the toilet the doll came down. If there was an "accident", the doll returned to the shelf until the next time she was successful, which usually didn't take long.
She still wears a pull-up to bed, and had an accident on the couch just yesterday when she fell asleep there.
Our middle son Leif is 2 1/2 and shows no interest, so we've left it alone with the new baby coming because we didn't want to deal with a regression. I'm planning a lot of time spent in the yard with him this summer, no diaper, tied to a stake.
Obviously, the 2 week old Finn is still working on the concept of indoor plumbing.
Where are you at in the process?

Wow...
Just...wow.
I think I was Potty trained at just 2 years.

The best way to potty train a child is the same way as a dog. Let him run around with no diaper and if he has an accident on the floor, rub his face in it while beating him with a newspaper, shouting "bad boy! bad, bad boy!"

Oh my. So there ya' have it. Some top notch parenting advice right there, for sure. :P
So how's the dog comin' along Dp? Even angrier than before, now? Poor guy. Can't wait to see his expression in next year's Christmas card... :-\

Why wait until Christams? The dog is pissed now.

Oh dear. Yeah. Please don't let him eat the poor baby. Please. :'(
BTW, did I miss the news, or are you guys still lagging on naming the poor tike? ::)
Finn. Nevermind. Where's that come from/what does that mean?
Like Huck?

A BELATED Congratulations to you Deanpaul!
