I'm really excited for this Monday's game.

It's a little known fact but Favre actually used to play for the Packers.  ;)

I'll admit I'm a little worried about the outcome, but definitely excited about the game.  Hopefully the Pack remembers to bring their offensive line this time.

She also makes a great Jaina Solo.

Ditto what Nick said - I'm stoked that this is FINALLY on the way and that they did such a good job on her.

Please, please, please do not step off that cliff and start putting EU characters in the Clone Wars.

To paraphrase the inimitable Jon Calipari, that's like putting poop in your ice cream.

What EU characters are going into the Clone Wars?  Are you referring to Bossk?   ???  I guess I don't see the problem here.  I'd rather they build off known, popular EU characters from that time frame than just generating a host of brand new characters we've never heard of despite their pivotal roles (like Ahsoka).

Either way,  I'd rather see any character in the CW than have poop in my ice cream.

Scum's taken Ebayers to task on it and have had the auctions removed...  I think it might be worth the effort just to annoy the sellers.

Okay, but that's what I mean.  Jay already spends a ton of time creating the Yak photo guide and he's got work and a personal life.  He could dedicate a bunch of time to going after people that rip off his photos, but is it worth the effort just to annoy sellers?  What if he spends a ton of time and they still get away with it or others get away with it?

Don't get me wrong - I think its unfair of people to steal his pics and they should have to either get permission or take them down.  I just don't know if the payoff is worth the time.

The Legacy Collection / Re: 2009...Worst Year Ever?
« on: September 29, 2009, 06:34 PM »
I've had pretty good luck finding things eventually, with the exception of the new comic packs (why are there so many repacks in this assortment!?).  I also collect at least 2x of each figure...I wonder what % of sales are made up buy the 2+ guys like us?  Personally, I have like 50 Target stores in the Minneapolis area to tap into and I'm part of a collector group that helps me find things, so that has really helpded me out the past few years.  But, I can see how a lot of collectors would be frustrated with distribution as of late.

I don't pretend to know profit margins for Hasbro, but I think they'd be selling figures a lot better with smaller price increases and better timed distribution.  There's no reason for Battle Packs to drop a figure and move up $6 per item int he course of a year.  Even with basic figures - try raising the price from $6 to $6.50 to $7 to $7.50 instead of trying (and failing) for years to charge a buck extra, then dropping the price back down.  That would have better seeded expectations among their loyal buyers.

As for the distribution, not releasing anything for several months, then pushing out three different waves in the course of a week seems like a bad way to keep consumers interested. I know this is tied to production issues and unforeseen demand on the CW figs, but why not purposely space these out a little better to keep wallets from drying up and maintain a constant buzz on new figs?

Whoa... zinga  :o

I just think if I put in as much work as Jayson I'd be a tad bit pissled.

I'm pretty sure from prior conversations that he IS pissed about it.  Just not pissed enough to do anything about it.  What are you going to do - send each seller a nasty email about it?  Probably just not worth even more time trying to fight it.   :-\

Star Wars Ships and Vehicles / Re: Stormforcecustoms Vehicle Customs

I like that ship!  Very cool custom.  I'm not a big fan of weathering, but I know others are.  If you wanted to target straighter lines on your ships, you might try taping.  Outside of that, keep the cool customs coming!

Oh, he'll have fun with the Barbie Ken.

I guess you're speaking from experience.

I think it's less likely that Bush gets hurt now that Thomas is back.  They won't use him enough to damage him (unlike Ruiner and his Ken).

Since, we're limited to "stars" I'm guessing Edelman and Sims-Walker are excluded from the contest.

With that comment, you are also excluded from the contest.  Here's a direct quote from the post above your's:

Whoever can guess which of my starters gets injured in Week 4 (whoever is still standing anyway) gets a free figure shipped to their door courtesy of Dressel Rebel.

Guess the "starter".

Okay, but you started with this...

Good God.  If I'm going to lose a star to injury every single week, we might as well have some fun with this.

Within the context of your post, you're referring to the three previous injured players as "stars."  Its kind of hard to tell from your roster who is going to be a "starter" from day to day don't you think?   ;)

I will assume I'm back in the running and will stick with Moss for Week #4.  However, I will hope for just a minor injury so that's he's only "questionable" to play the rest of the season.

Tough break for Joe and the rest of the Miami fans out there...

"Dolphins QB Chad Pennington will miss the remainder of the season after an MRI revealed a torn capsule in his throwing shoulder."

I was afraid this might be the case when I heard he got injured and I was right.  I hope Henne plays better then he did against the Chargers or we may be in for another painful 1-15 season again. ::)  That was a very painful season for me and it would be very tough to take again. :'( :'(

Well, he should have a good shot at proving himself this week now that the entire Bills secondary is in the infirmary.  Hopefully lots of little effective passes to Ronnie Brown!

San Fran also didn't convert on a single third down all game...

And yet, they took the lead twice.  What does that say about the Vikings performance?
What does that say about your knowledge of the game of football?

I don't know what you mean.  Maybe you should try posting your thoughts for a change instead of asking pointless questions.  I'd say that since no one here agrees with your position on how well the vikings DOMINATED the 49ers on Sunday, it's your knowledge of football that we should be questioning.  Now drive up here for a meeting so you can buy me my damn beer.  ;)

I'm really lucky to be 2-1 at this point, but my running backs are a horrible disaster this year. I really need LT to get healthy pretty quick, otherwise I'm not liking my chances to get to the playoffs.

I need him to stay hurt so my late round shot at Sproles pays off.   :)

Sproles has been great early this year, especially in this type of league.  I've been super lucky with C. Benson as well.  I thought he would be a TD here or there, but he's looked great thru 3 games, even against good defenses.

OMG.  Here are the stats from the game:

- Favre's completeion % was 52% vs. Hill's 60%
- Favre threw for 300 yards vs. Hill's 200, but 80 of them came on the final drive vs. a prevent defense.
- Both QBs threw for two TDs and a pick
- Both teams had a special teams TD (Block FG vs KR - I would agree that blocking a kick for a return is more rare and by default a more significant achievement, but whatever it's the same result)
- Peterson (the league's #1 RB) had exactly 31 more yards than Glen Freaking Coffee and neither scored
- Neither team had a 100yd receiver, but SF was closest with V. Davis

Your MN Vikings had every possible advantage - #1 rusher in the league, HOF QB, playing at home, early game for a West Coast team on the road, SF #1 RB goes out the first game, etc.  And STILL they managed to lose the lead not once, but twice.

Honestly, did you watch the game or were you dreaming in magical fairy land through most of the above?

Don't get me wrong, it was a good game and a win is a win.  As I said before, kudos on the victory and a sweet 3-0 start.  That said, there was nothing "dominating" about the way they played this game.

Oh, and why are you ripping on your head coach for being bald?  ???

I'll ask this again...did you watch the game Justin?

Yes, I did watch the game.

Scott, I'll answer again.  I did watch the game.
