1:6 Scale Figures and Collectibles / Re: Sideshow 12" Stormtrooper

And only the exclusive version comes with a blaster?  Really?

Both versions include the standard E-11 blaster rifle, but the SSC exclusive includes the SE14-R blaster pistol.

Sweet!  Just got a notice that my waitlist for the Exclusive Stormy is changing to a real order!
Yay!

WARNING: I found this out the hard way - save your points for cheaper priced items, not expensive items!  When you use points on an order, you don't collect ANY points for the remaining purchase price.  I used my points on the Clone Wars Obi Wan to save a few bucks, but now I'm not getting any of the points for him and he's worth quite a few.  You're way better off collecting points on the big tickets, then using them on something smaller.

Woah, I had no idea about that... Thanks.
Yeah lol.
And I only have like 150 points so thats not that much i think.

Take your points and divide them by 20 and you'll see your discount. Be patient, I'm getting my Rebel Fleet Trooper for $13.78, that's with tax, S&H.

The real trick, is that when you DO use your points to partial purchase something, that item becomes INELIGIBLE for the points it would be worth if you hadn't used your points :)

The Clone Wars '08-'13 / Re: Who Is Not Buying?
« on: August 8, 2008, 09:20 AM »
I've picked up the V-19, the ATTE, a commander Fox and a set of the 1st day sticker figures for the DCSWCC or possibly to keep.  At this point, I've decided I don't want the figures and will be sticking to figures from the legacy line for characters I don't have.

No more Clone Wars stuff for me!

Star Wars Universe / Re: Clone Wars: EU or Prequel?
« on: August 1, 2008, 03:30 PM »
AH, so using that logic, you would say Episodes I through IV are canon, but Empire and Jedi are EU.  After all, they weren't directed by Lucas, so he wasn't 100% at the helm.   ;)

No, because Lucas was the producer, and nixed anything he truly didn't like with ESB and ROTJ...  The directors got what they wanted out of the actors, but at the end of the day Lucas was still there on set controlling everything.  He wasn't like that with CW2D or 3D, or any other piece of EU (Ewok movies, droids cartoons, comics, etc.).

Now let's say when CW3D is over, Lucas says he's going to do another 3D thing but OT characters and maybe it's going to be about after ROTJ and all that.  Lucas says, "I'm running the show as producer of this", and he's there in that capacity and daily is making sure things are what he wants with this project, and he's the one ok'ing designs and nixing others...  Then they're not EU.  They're part of the story because he ran the show...  CW3D isn't like that though.  Actually Lucas saw what they'd done with the toon and loved it so much he said "let's make it a full movie"...  THat's proof right there that Lucas just wasn't heavily involved in helming this project...  And that's proof that, according to Lucasfilm's own standards basically, that this is just part of "Official Continuity", but not "canon" as it were...

If Lucas is the guy telling the story, basically, is my criteria...  And for that matter, it's LFL's too.  They classify things as part of the continuity, but not the canon, and then things like Infinities that are outside both those.

When it comes to OT material, they'd better do Shadow of the Empire :-)

I just don't get it.   I got the Vader with no problem.  I log on to get the stormtrooper and it automatically sends me to the wait list?

Arggh!

The Legacy Collection / Re: TLC Millenium Falcon
« on: August 1, 2008, 01:44 PM »
Mine had that same problem at first, but the second time I put them in (after nearly all fell out during decal application) it didn't seem to happen...actually only the two furthest aft seemed to be loose at all.

I haven't exactly been flying this behemoth around so I don't really have any problems with the landing gear.

Just remember to initiate the take off sequence whenever you do move it  ;D

Dang!  Missed the trooper... logged in and it took me straight to the wait list!

I have no idea who Netrem Pollard is, but I guess he's the guy coming with the Dagger B-Wing...

Looks like he's the leader of Dagger Squadron:

Dagger Squadrong B-Wing instructions

Yay!  Now I can use Plo Koon's cloak for Ki-Adi!

What makes you think he won't come with a cloak?  Aalya Secura is coming with one and you never see her wear one in the movies.

It's more a reference to my initial reaction to the cloak that came with Plo Koon ... the hood is way too long and tapered and I commented that it should fit Ki-Adi just fine.   I never actually found out if my Plo Koon's cloak is just wrong or if ALL of them are like that.   ;D

30th Anniversary Collection / Re: Target TFU Battle Rancor
« on: June 25, 2008, 10:57 AM »
I hadn't actually compared them yet...   It looks like despite the new scultping, they used the same "weak" leg joint process that makes the Rancor really hard to "stand" on it's own without knuckle support.

I still like the vintage one the best :-)

I like the concept but the price totally bites.   It's like  1/3 of the BMF that is my numero uno priority for 7/26... Gonna have to fly casual on this one.... 8)

I'm gonna have to agree with you guys. I can either make my Rancors look like monkeys by using their hands to walk, or have him stand straight up and lean on his tail. Neither of those options make for a hungry and ferocious looking enemy.  :(

Yup... same problems with the POTJ (?I forget which set it was that this is a repaint of).   Can't make it stand normally because the leg joins are so poorly designed.  *sigh*
