How about sending me a PM if your interested with a mailing adress by Dec 5th. then that weekend I will PM you the name and adress of your gift recipiant.
Any other ideas- spending (value) limit??- Looks like that was posted as I was writting this- Yes I would like to see a limit- upper and lower to ensure fairness

My town doesn't have hardly anything in the way of 'new stuff' (that is, we have nothing new), so umm... I don't think there's anything worth getting that hasn't already been picked up by everyone participating.
With that in mind, I think it's important the participants list their interests as far as what they collect, what kinda stuff they would like to get for X-mas... that kinda thing.

you must have been reading my mind, because i was trying to figure out if this would be a good idea to suggest. anyway, count me in too :)
one thing i would suggest is that people send you their forum name along with their information, or any names that they might use on another forum, in case they have a trade list with stuff that they want/need (like i do... hint hint), this way if someone has some extra stuff that they are willing to part with, they can send it to someone as an xmas gift... just don't expect to get that sacul or toy fair vader that's on everyone's list ;D

I would also like to add that when you send me your info please add a little extra such as what you collect rather than a shopping list- If you have a focus or are only a vintage collector say so- it will give your santa an idea if you don't know them already.
So when sending me a PM include
Name-
Adress-
Any special info such as if you will be gone the holiday week( don't want any packages returned as undeliverable)
interests- collection types
Also as for user id I will know that from the PM id
Lets set a limit- I propose $15-30 lower and upper any ideas- shipping being the senders responsability
Times ticking away Deadline to submit names will be DEC 5th
I will litterally put the names in a hat and draw to ensure fairness and not disclose any other names other than the one you are assigned.

Nah, that's small potatoes compared to those two uber-rare carded figures. One of those is what my Secret Santa should get me. But if worse comes to worse, I suppose I'd settle for a loose, complete, mint vintage Yak Face... :P
BTW, are people allowed/supposed to 'fess up after the fact, as to who was who's Santa, or does it all stay hush hush for good? Also, I assume the stuff should be Star Wars related? Or are CDs/DVDs up for consideration too?

to answer your questions- I guess its up to each person to disclose who you are with your gifts.
Also IMO anything as a gift is fair- one reason I thought about doing this is so that some people get to know each other so if you read or find out that your person is looking for a certain movie and you find it, its a great gift- I added the collection focus so some people had an idea or a starting point.

ok, did we set any limits as far as spending goes? i know there were some thoughts, but was anything ever finalized? and do we have a date where everyone is supposed to ship on the same day, or just a date that we should ship by?

Poor sap whose name I got ::) I'll be sending snow, polar bear crap and really old (but not vintage) crappy toys. ;D
Last I saw the limit was between $15-30 US. As far as a ship date, guess it would be nice to get it there before Christmas, but really not crucial I don't think. I'll be sending mine out by Friday this week so there should be no problems with arrival.
As far as secret goes, I'm guessing the Canada Post postage marker will give mine away ;) Don't you guys in the States have to have a return address on packages?

And the way I drew names was I just wrote them on slips and threw them in a box. I pulled out in order of sign up and that was that. If you got yourself it was thrown back in and re-drew.

That's good to hear, 'cause I buy myself enough Star Wars Secret Santa gifts as it is! At least several times a week... There's just no way I'd be able to surprise myself. I'm almost positive I'd recognize my own handwriting on the package... :P

I opened up my gifts from Brent (Morgbug) and he got me:
Clone Trooper three pack
Scream 3 DVD
Thanks Brent for these things. I actually need Scream 3 to complete the Scream collection so I was wondering if it was Region 1 or a different Region which wouldn't play on my DVD player.
Also Brent its a lot warmer here then where you are, its about 60 right now.

Anyway, Tom (Darth Kenobi) was a great secret Santa, and got me a couple of SA clones (which will most likely be the only two I get this Christmas) plus a droid army for them to fight.
My big Christmas project is going to be working on my Star Wars room, so I should have some pictures to share sometime in the next week or so I hope.

Hey, don't feel bad about it Andrew! Your package actually arrived last Wednesday to my office address, but since I was taking several days off for Holiday vacation (starting last Tuesday) I didn't actually get it until this morning when I finally went back to work. But it was definitely here in time for Christmas! I just wasn't... ;)
And even though it was "only one thing", it was definitely an item that I wanted (from my "wants list"), and haven't been able to track down separately for a reasonable price since it's release, so I'm definitely very happy with it! 8)
