TV-9D9 / Re: Star Wars: The Clone Wars Series Discussion Thread

So I realized with Anakin being more "calm", if you will, that Ahsoka has become the Anakin of the movies. A bit whiny, impatient, quick to anger ("No! That's what you said last time and now all my men are gone! My whole squadron!" You can totally hear Hayden Christensen saying that). I kind of like where she has been going lately with having to face failure.

It's not so much too much stuff as it is too much stuff one month then months without anything. That isn't the way the line should be run.

If you think this show looks "cheap" then I don't think anything would please you.

The Clone Wars '08-'13 / Re: Who Is Not Buying?
« on: July 8, 2008, 10:51 AM »
At first I was really against the animated style figures, but they really have grown on me. The first wave of The Legacy Collection does not interest me anyway except for Luke so I figure I will get most of the first wave of The Clone Wars. I will just have to display them away from my other figures.

I would be as well, Chewie, and I think most collectors would to be honest. I think a subline of animated style Clone Wars figures would be fine, but to have a line of around fifty figures that are in an animated style would not be a good idea.

What do you guys think of these two Q and A's?

Any chance we will see the first Clone Wars figures at Toy Fair, or even sooner? (JTA, 08/17/07)

Right now, Toy Fair is the most likely time for the first peak at what they will look like.

Can you tell us when toys based on the new Clone Wars animated series are due out? (JI, 12/07/07)

They will be out for Fall 2008. The exact on-shelf date is still being worked out, but detailed information and images of the figure direction will be revealed in February at Toy Fair.

Personally, I think those answers sound a little suspicious to me. I'm just saying that just because Hasbro has said "No more Animated style figures!" does not mean they are telling the truth.

The Vintage Collection / Realistic Clone Wars 3D Figures
« on: January 20, 2008, 02:09 PM »
I am just curious, would you be angry if Hasbro decided to make the main Clone Wars 3D line in an Animated style as opposed to realistic, movie style figures that we saw last year (Yoda with Kybuck, Tattooed Anakin)? I really hope this line is in a realistic style, but I have a feeling this will not be the case. Just look at Anakin's Jedi Starfighter from Lego. Anakin has a "cartoony" face. Perhaps Lucasfilm requested that their major licensees make their Clone Wars 3D products in an Animated style? I certainly hope not.

Yes, the back pack. My mistake.  ;)

I gave Jesse a weird bronze 'washed over' back pack version of this...never seen it anywhere else..suspect anomally before variant.

Quite a few of my Sandtroopers have the same "bronze" paint on them.

Considering the articulation on this background character, do you guys think we will see a return to more super articulated figures like the Revenge of the Sith line? Considering 2007 is the Thirtieth Anniversary of Star Wars, perhaps Hasbro will be more inclined to invest more money in the Star Wars line.

It looks like Hasbro is going to be releasing a lot of Prequel trilogy figures next year, as well as EU. The time for both of those was this year. 2007 should be focused mainly on the Original Trilogy.

Yeah, I'm definitely hoping for that Boba Fett with the poncho, and since there doesn't seem to be too many "full body" shots of Johnston's Boba Fett (at least I couldn't find any), hopefully McQuarrie's is what we're getting.

The Concept Boba Fett is going to be a Johnston design however, so that picture posted in this thread is a McQuarrie design and, therefore, won't be used. Unless, of course, the picture is Johnston's, but I don't think it is.

I'm with you there, Paul. I really hope Hasbro sculpts these figures in a normal manner next year.
