Hey Hasbro! / Re: Questions for Hasbro?
« on: August 27, 2010, 11:19 AM »
Has there been any updates on the status for the release of a Fozec figure?  Last I remember reading in an older QnA you stated that he was on your short list, or parking lot, and he keeps barely getting bumped out of the lineup.  Is he slotted for a 2011 or 2012 release?

Sounds like you have an older X-Box then that requires you to get that cable from Microsoft to utilize HDMI.

I know a lot of people are Monster Cable crazy so I thought I would share with you what I saw on Newegg (awesome site fyi) the other day.  http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16882155344&nm_mc=EMC-IGNEFL082610&cm_mmc=EMC-IGNEFL082610-_-EMC-082610-Index-_-AudioVideoAccessories-_-82155344-L011B

HDMI, Surge protector, and cleaner for $35 shipped after using the discount code.  but as others said you definitely can get HDMI cables cheaper.

Just fyi if people are tracking this thing.  I saw this on Tuesday in Mishawaka, Indiana.

One thing to consider, though, is would this make it into TVC? Hasbro has said countless times that TVC will have a stricter focus and will be less EU. So why use the potential, extremely limited EU slots on characters that we just saw in the other line?

Does Hasbro consider CW as EU?  I am thinking they don't.

The Vintage Collection / Re: Celebration V

listening to the forcecast CV part 2 right now.  So far it sounds like maybe the first wave in 2011, immediately following the release of the AOTC wave (perhaps within a week or two) will be the first mixed wave.  It sounds like this wave will have figures from 5 out of the 6 films - and I thought I gathered ANH was the missing film...

sticking to OTC vehicles?

looking to do a new A-wing, was really close to having a new EU version this fall as exclusive but retail pulled out.  Actually 2, a ROTJ version.  but the retailer decided not to.  put back in parking lot.

very close to updated y-wing. maybe next year.  updated cockpit and fit protocol droid

kitster and wald perhaps in 2012? they could fit on vintage card perhaps in 2 packs.  also Twilek massuses (sp?).  Both hopeful 2 packs keep getting cut from the lineup.

consider a new TPM Anakin - but are still pretty satisfied with what is out.

6 waves in 2011 - as of now 39 figures. some waves may have only 4 figures, and they don't like that - trying to rework it.  some may have 10 figures.

Greivous outsold Vader last year.

it sounds like there will be a second TRU exclusive deluxe set to go along come out with the rebel technician/transport thing.  it will be a CW item.

all confirmed for 2011 Vintage: Ponda, Bom, Fordo, Bariss, Skiff Master, Aayla, Evanzan, Bespin Han, Aurra, Bastilla, Nom Anor.

hasbro's goal is not to update all of vintage kenner - but they in the long term hope that vintage will not go away.  but that is up to collectors.

if the Target 9 pack is successful there may be another one on tap that they are already putting together.  2nd set would be all OT figures

no plans as of right now for the new AT-ST driver on single card, wouldn't be for a long time.  Same for Uncle Owen.

kneesa pulled primarily due to cost.  future ewoks single carded (no two packs) but with substantial accessories - ie some horn.

6-7 figures from rs.com polls are in next years lineup.  depriest does not post on boards - but he does vote.

comic packs - Hasbro has a whole year worth of comic pack figures sculpted (not tooled) that fans have never seen.

*thats everything that was there as I interpreted it.  It was a good listen while I worked and I encourage you all to give it a go.  This was the first podcast type thing I have ever listened to and I now look forward to future ones.

I don't think the official podcast has been posted/happened yet.

As for why Hasbro would cross the streams?  Simple answer - $$$  They got the money from collectors, like me, upfront for figures collectors thought they would never see in any other way shape or form - now they want to get that money again.

My wife found this on the internet and signed us up.  After submitting some info we were selected to have the house party.  Supposedly for having the party we are getting all of this:

If my memory is correct it all depends on which X-Box you have.  The oldest ones (pre 2007) did not have HD/HDMI quality or support according to wiki.  The older ones require you to buy a cable that has some sort of converter so you can use HDMI to supposedly get HD quality.  The next generation included the HDMI output on the X-Box - but no cable.  And perhaps the newest generations comes with the HDMI output and cable?

Other Toy Lines / Re: 2010: What Are You Collecting?
« on: August 26, 2010, 09:03 AM »
Currently collecting SW Vintage collection - with sprinkles of figures unique to CW.

GI Joe - Pursuit of Cobra - mostly just single carded figures.

Marvel Universe.

I am starting to get the feeling that I am not too excited over the first two anymore and that my focus may start heading more and more towards Marvel.  We shall see though, Hasbro is pretty good at reeling suckers like me back in...

The Vintage Collection / Realistic/Movie Style Clone Wars figures
« on: August 26, 2010, 08:58 AM »
I am not certain if this belongs here - but this is where I am putting it since I believe Curto got the intel from CV.

Supposedly we will start seeing some Clone Wars figures done in realistic format - Curto has reportedly posted this info from his Twitter page (I don't tweet so I can't confirm).

What do you guys think about this?  I am slightly put off from this info because while I haven't purchased too many CW figures, just some of the ones that are unique to the series (and Aurra cuz she is so BA), the only reason I purchased them was because of the notion that we have been told we will never see them in a realistic format (I know I shouldn't listen to what Hasbro says - my bad).  So I will be buying the figure twice, something I despise doing.

What are your thoughts on the subject?

Curto indicated in his CV Part 1 coverage that Hasbro is not having anything to do with this...  Maybe that was said before - but it is news to me.  I wonder if we can expect the same quality we see in Hasbro products?  Or perhaps, will we see a lesser price tag?

*EDIT* - Be careful if you order.  I ordered three Ghost Riders, two Mystiques, one Multiplte Man, one Team X Wolverine, and one Captain Britain.  I just got a notice that all besides Ghost Rider and Wolverine were on back order ... though all of the figures still show as being in stock on the site.  Whatever.

I just went to TRU to check onm how my order is going - still same info as what you are posting above.  I thought it was extra interesting that it looked like most of these newer figurs are not even listed anymore...  I hope I don't get screwed out of these figures and that TRU.com is just taking them off of their listing until they get stuff straightened out.

wow - I had no clue this was coming out so already.  Don't know if I will bite at 3 figures for $20 cuz I only need 1 of them.  I wonder if you can use a $5 off coupon on it...  even then, I still am not sure I would be willing to pay $15 for the one figure...

Original Trilogy Collection / Re: Star Tours Wave 4
« on: August 24, 2010, 01:06 PM »
Going to bump an old thread cuz I have a question about it.  Why does it seem that MSE-1T is so dang rare?  For the longest time I have only seen one of him going for $50 with shipping - does he deserve that kind price tag?

And while I am on it, if anyone has a spare MSE-1T, RX-24 (Rex), WEG-1618, or SK-Z38 let me know.  Loose for less is fine  ;D then my Star Tours collection will be complete.
