Original Trilogy Collection / Re: Naboo Wave
« on: November 16, 2004, 08:02 AM »
Ah, Naboo Wave, I was looking for this thread.  I was thinking more in terms of Post-OTC.  Anyway, I found these over the weekend, and they are indeed $5.88 at Wal-Mart.

My Amidala has a pretty good paint job (except for a pock-mark below the neck), and I like the sculpt of the costume.  Her feet can't really touch the ground past those robes, but I can fix that.  I'm not crazy about his head style, but overall it works.

I agree about Sly Moore - neat sculpt, decent movement of the arms for the robes, and a really good job on the face.  Its funny this will probably be the pegwarmer, just because I can't imagine the character will be that attractive.

Rabé - oh please!  Can there be a worse figure?  This is the cost-cutting result of an inbetween line of figures.  I'll just leave it at Blech!

Let's throw in some magical harmonies and yearning vocals from yesteryear -

All the critics in the world and Paul McCartney can't be wrong, can they?

Don't answer that.

Great album but one of the GAYEST cover art examples I've ever seen! (And by gay, I mean cheap and dumb looking, not that there's anything wrong with that... ::) )

Grown men, standing close together, feeding animals at a petting zoo?  Whatever do you mean?  : :D ;D :-*

Our local Atlanta chapter of collectors uses their servers as a base - they all look to be down.  I was just waiting for it to come back up - I guess I'll email someone and see what they know.

Zowie, my best guess is a ghost.  Really, it could be anything.  A lot of animals (cats, horses) get spooked at the sight of some inanimate object, and there's no explanation.  Its sounds like there's not object there though.  I wouldn't worry about it enough to call the vet.  I hear those dog psychiatrists can get pricey.

Also, that illustration allowed me to replay it in my mind a lot better.

He Used To Drive KITT, So You Must Acquit

This should be appreciated again too.

Also, in the back of my mind, I keep thinking everything involving David takes place in Germany.  Like, he became an honorary citizen because of his fame.   :-[

Watto's Junk Yard / Re: My Halloween Rant
« on: October 27, 2004, 09:44 AM »
I really dig Halloween too, but I don't ever dress up too extravagantly.  This year there are parties and a show I'll go to, and I'll be a general "spook" with makeup and my '84 Daytona Biker Week black shirt with a picture of the Grim Reaper on the front.  Boo.  I'll carve two jack-o-lanterns.  I love doing it.  This year I helped unload a shipment of pumpkins at the church wear I buy, so they give me a pick of a gigantic one.  I swear it weighs 75 lbs.   This thing's huge.

Of course Halloween is always the best when you're a kid - it involves to things dear to all children: candy and mischief.  Now I'm not so keen on the mischief since it might involve kids pranking me.  Get out of my yard ya damn kids!  Actually I don't get too many trick or treaters since my neighborhood isn't big on it.  Its great seeing the kids that still dress up though.

Hey nice.

And I'm starting to see the family resemblence, particularly in the OTC neck!

Original Trilogy Collection / Re: "Transition" figures. You buying?
« on: October 21, 2004, 09:49 AM »
So we'll see a bunch of Feltipern Trevagg and Han Solo, while the sandies, stormies, and scouties will dissappear in no time.  I guess Dannik Jerriko will hang around since he's such an ugly mofo.

I'll get the new figures and look for the Sandtrooopers and Stormtroopers, and that will have to last me.

Guys, sometimes I have hard time sorting out myth from reality in these forums.
Is that the REAL GNT?  :o

Yeah, I never know what's going on there.  Why people hate certain people, who's coming back to flood, why certain people are mods and others aren't...
Too much drama for me.  I already have a backlog of TV I need to catch up on, so the Rebelscum opera sits on the back burner.

Oh yeah, there's a lot more picture of Philip in the waybackmachine (http://www.archive.org/).  Search engine seems to be down at the moment.

Oh man, I love those one liners.  Heheh.  I can quote Caddyshack all day long too.  Rodney Dangerfield AND Ted Knight - what a classic combo.

"Hey, you wanna make 14 dollars, the hard way?"

And don't forget Rodney's other, hipper contributions:

Original Trilogy Collection / Re: OTC...Selling that Well?
« on: October 6, 2004, 07:37 AM »
The pegwarmer situation is lower than during Saga, so I'd say yeah they are selling pretty well.  In fact, since they've been out which was when, early summer?, I've only now started seeing pewarmers sitting in the same place for a couple of weeks.  Its made me worried I wouldn't be able to find the ones I've wanted, but actually I've had good luck so far.

Are they shipping as many as the Saga figures?  Anyone know or care to speculate?
