I do. I consolidate the pegs, so they see there is more room.

But do they 'listen'? NOOOO!

Quite so.

Maybe I should be posting in the pet peeves section, but I cannot get over how slovenly people are.  I mean, man, the sections are always, always a mess.  To the point where it would take someone an hour to clean up that mess.  My mother, God rest her soul, would have kicked my ass if I made 1/10th of the mess these people do.  But nobody gives a crap anymore.  tragic.

Yes, I do this on the odd occasion that I find myself at TRU (the only “retail” store we have here).  I am sure that they greatly appreciate having their 20 Jango KEs on one peg, their 20 Yoda JMs on one peg, and their 20 Obi-Wan CCs, again, on one peg.  Where I do my Star Wars shopping, i.e. online, it is impossible to say how neatly or otherwise the various store owners or guys selling from their basement keep their stock.  At least they have stock.

To be honest I find the general mess of the Star Wars pegs indicative of the fact that retail places no longer give a rat’s ass about the line.

edit: it's great to be able to say ass  ;D

Man, with the ROTS release a couple days ago, there's been one helluva lot of cleanup to be doing in the aisles these days.  Took me a good 10-15 minutes to polish up a couple of Targets that I stopped at tonight.  Damned slobs you guys all are!  Figures everywhere.  Didn't your mommas teach you to clean up after yourselves...?!   >:(

Anyone else carrying the burden of clean up duty these days?  It's a tough job, but someone's got to do it, and it sure as **** ain't gonna be the workers at Target, lemme tell ya'...

Especially with this volume of figures - now its an even greater game of concentration to try and put matching figures on the same peg. I examined about 10 Luminaras to get the best paint job, and then gave them a dedicated peg. I'll be back for the 3rd shift to get going with other figures, I promise.  :-*

I think it's part of the reason I haven't gone out lately.  Too much work and I'll never get out of the store.  During my one visit to TRU I think I put about 25-30 figures back on the pegs.  It was way too daunting to put them in any kind of order, so I just hung them up.  Looked like a bunch of hot wheels guys had gone through looking for treasure hunts.  Blech.

I still breeze through the aisles on the chance that Target will get a Marvel Legends Blade, and I always pick up after everyone else.

It's just old school, common courtesy.

I admit it- I have a problem.  I did this at the larger of the two Wal-Marts in our area last Sunday.   I put all the action figures and deluxe packages back up, and while I was doing so my son grabbed one of the badly stacked electronic lightsabers and sent two packed rows of them sliding off the shelves.  There was a guy there restocking the SW games and all, and he told me not to worry about it, but I didn't listen...

If I drop something, I'll pick it up, put it back and straighten out a little bit.  I sometimes find myself doing it - probably a latent habit dating back to my highschool and college days as a stock-clerk.  You should see my pantry...

How old is your boy?

I did the same thing with the Episode 2 lightsabers when they came out. I was on a quest to find an orange one, and down went magilicutty.

I just want to thank you Matt for bumping this thread.  Now I don't feel like quite the tool I usually do when I realize I'm cleaning up the toy department at my local Zellers.   :P

I have to do it, because the staff there sure won't.   >:(

I was cleaning up K-Mart tonight on a brief jaunt there looking for army builders.

Place was a mess, but I have to say they had maybe 8 - 10 figures TOTAL on pegs.  When a toy line's figures are selling, even at a $2+ mark-up (though they are on sale this week), you have to think the line's doing well.

Jeez. You guys aren't kidding when you talk about your OCD. ;)

If I take apart a shelf or pegful looking for a particular figure, I'll put them back where I found them. And if there's toys on the floor or shelf where they don't belong, I put them in their spot. Otherwise I just leave the stuff be.

If there's some figures laying on the shelf below the pegs, I'll put them back on the pegs.
Just so store employees don't get some crazy idea that Star Wars collectors are untidy.
