Title: My small army.
Post by: exjedi on January 12, 2006, 11:32 PM
I know it's not much, but here's a few pics of my collection.  Since I am limited on wall space and I just can't stop cracking open those packages, so 90% of it is loose...oh, I do suffer from ABS or Army Building Syndrome...

Well, at least I know why I can't find any Tac Ops troops in the stores....

Nice collection. Do you have any kind of count on what you have?

Meh, I've seen bigger. :P

Kidding of course. That is one hell of an impressive army. Did you used to post on RS by the name "Son of a Sith" or something like that? I think I remember seeing pics of your army a few years ago.

I too would love to hear an official count, that has got to be close to $10,000 worth of army builders. It's a good thing you have stands, I could see things getting rather annoying if someone decided to play dominoes. ;)

Nah, wasn't me, I only a few of the Tac Ops in the store, traded for 57 of them(not all from one person), bought a few online, but still have 15 more on the way from another trade.  I know I pushed over the 1500 mark a few weeks ago on the Imperial Troops and more than 2700 loose figures total.  I just finished building 3 more sets of shelves that I need to fill up with about 100 more figures that still need to be opened.  I do have a lot of sealed/carded items, but just no wall space to display everything right now.

I was SonofaSith.

It's only money & you can't take it with you my friend.  I have a 3 year old son & honestly he just enjoys looking at them in total amazement, probably thinking to himself that one day when they are all his, he can play dominoes with them.  My daughter on the other hand could care less, but she makes sure to tell her friends that "My Dad has more toys than I do".

Not much?  :o
I don`t think all the troops I have would fill half a shelf there  ;D
Very cool! I see you have stands for them, a must have in this situation
I would think. One small gust (or finger, heh) and there goes an hour or two
lining them back up, lol

No problem, it happens all the time, someone sent me link to that one and a few others that posted pics of my collection on a couple of other forums.

The reaction varies from anger to amazement, I especially enjoy the angry posts.  I have been singled out as the main reason why people in 49 of the 50 States couldn't find a Tactical Ops Trooper.   The best part of it all is that I traded mostly McFarlane Sportspick chase pieces for a ton of Army Builder figures last year.  Those McFarlane collectors are pretty dedicated to completing those sets with the variants and seem to have easier time finding Star Wars than I do.

Thanks for the compliments on the collection.... ;D

I probably shouldn't tell you guys then that my collection is in our bedroom, my wife has no choice, she is now surrounded with Star Wars.  It does help though that she is a Star Wars fan, not a fanatic, but a fan and tolerant of my collection, plus I am the bread winner, so that helps too.

Hey, thanks for the offer, I actually have more, just had not opened and displayed them when I took that picture.

I just completed a new section of shelves in preparation for the openeing of more figures, plus I wouldn't mind picking up some of those new Utapau Orange Clones that are starting to show up on the pegs.

I had to move my AOTC Clones off of the main shelf as my ROTS army continues to grow.  I don't know what it is about these E3 Clones that I like so much, just wish they had more on screen time in the movie.

I have got to ask...What is the total count?

I have got to ask...What is the total count?

I don't know, I stopped counting figures a while ago & have actually scaled my army building back to just collecting the Original Trilogy figures like the Stormtroopers, Sandtroopers, etc.

I have re-focused my collection on Vader, Imperial, Sith & Bounty Hunter items only,  like this one:

But do you collect clone troopers?

Kidding of course.

Jeez, this is a mightly hefty collection.

How often do you dust them? I mean the ones that aren't in cases?
