Target 2021 TVC Droids Carded Figures

We went from a hobby where toys ended up in stores and you could walk in and buy them, to one where there's a 15 minute pre-order window and if you miss it you're off to eBay because that's just about it.  It's pretty lame.

I'd be ok if they opened a pre-order for a 5-day window and then they put the order in to the factory and we get our orders in 6 - 9 months.

I wish they'd just start doing beset-guess production runs and letting things hit stores and online retailers at the same time.  Make it a free for all without all the keyboard stuff.  Surely by now they have enough data to know what sells and in what quantities.

I can understand Hasbro trying to avoid products flooding discounters like we saw in the late 20-teens. I'm confident they're establishing better baselines that'll make short stocking less frequent.

These Droids figures are great. I'm glad the $15.99 gets us a coin and isn't just from mark-up. I think they can cobble together a few characters with a mix of re-used and new parts; and if the numbers are there, figures from all-new parts.

Jayson at YakFace reported that C-3PO landed in the US. Now I have an email from Target saying he is set for delivery on Dec 13th and the app says to expect it to arrive by Dec 20th. So another couple more weeks and folks should be receiving theirs.

I got the email as well.  Of the three TVC figures in this assortment, I'm least excited for C-3PO.  But some images that have made their way to social media indicate that this version of Threepio is a repaint of the previous TVC figure, complete with the same removable panels.

Well, yeah… it’s not like Hasbro has the ability to make more than about a dozen new sculpts per year.

Or that they have better sculpts to use. Until they make a new 3PO sculpt they should be using the Build a Droid sculpt - so much better.

Granted, those new sculpts are REALLY good.  But a situation like this looks like Hasbro is just mailing it in.

Did anyone by chance end up ordering an Extra Fett?  I was able to get the other two but not that one.

IIRC, they limited orders to two.  I'm still wondering why I purchased a second R2 and 3P0 because I probably won't open those.

My Fett on the other hand will sit proudly on my Mando shelf!

Same here... I have taken it as a sign I don't need it.  I've got the 2007 30AC Animated Fett and I guess that's going to be good enough for my collection.  I can live without the coin.
