That is out of control. I would think twice before paying that much for that figure and it is Tri-Logo to boot!! That is crazy....

Actually, it's not a Tri-logo.  It's a Japanese card, which is just a U.S. card with a large Tomy sticker on the back.  I've gotten a few of these cards in the past, and usually that huge white Tomy sticker on the back peels right off, no problem - giving you a perfectly standard U.S. carded version.

The Battle Amidalas have been floating around the $30 range on eBay for quite a while now, as it's one of the last two pieces I need to get my entire collection back to complete.  I've been searching for one for a while, but rarely do they ever even fall below $25 or so.  I'll keep waiting...

I have trouble justifying that amount of cash on a very dull figure.
I will have to get her eventually (somehow), but for what she is I think she is way too expensive anyway.
Damn you last waves >:(

it's quite sick. The only reason that the fig sells for this price though is becasue people are willing to buy it. When the phaze dies off, we will all be able to get the figure for a decent price. don't give into the dark side ;)

seriously though, if you don't want to pay high, out of wack prices, just don't. if no one buys it, then they can't sell it. eventually, it'll be attainable.

The figure actually isn't that bad, though I already had that figure, just minus the gun, which annoys me. I find this to be the case with a couple of the ep1 figs. Obi, Qui-gon, Darth, and Anikan figs were all so very similar, yet they were "new" figures. This is the case with the amidala, as its the same outfit as the ummm, naboo one? Can't remember the other figs name. All that is different though is the GUN!!!

I will hold off until I find someone who wants to sell it for a decent price.

LOL, that thing goes for 35 GBP ($57) on eBay UK  ;D

EDIT - unlike on RS, you can't post the pound sign here :)

What surprises me is that this figure has held its value pretty good over time.I'm still waiting for the day when she can be picked up at a decent price so I can have a loose version. It may never come from the looks of it.I paid $20 for mine about a year ago.I considered it a fair deal then because she was the last fig I needed to complete my EP1 set except for the pit droid 2-pack.

This is the only figure I need to complete my standard Episode I collection, but I refused to pay a high price for it.  If this fig was released near the beginning or middle of Episode I's run, it would have been warming the pegs for months or in some cases, still will be. (A TRU near me still has a row of clearanced Nute Gunrays for sale.  The only activity on these has been moving them from the clearance section to the Star Wars section)

I am never going to get one of these.  I still need a lot of EP1 figures because I got ripped off ont he internet.  Yesterday I was so close to getting the TC-14 and R2-B1 for 10 each but the shipping was 9 and I couldnt do that.  I know I will be kicking myself in the ars for that but I am getting married in 2 weeks and i can't afford that right now.  Oh well, such id the collectors life.

I hate to say it but you should have bought those figures.  They can EASILY go for $20 a piece... sometimes even more.  Getting them for only $10 is a steal, especially if they're in MOMC condition.  If the seller was asking for $9 shipping, hopefully he was planning on sending them in a Star Case protector.

dustrho, I know but he wasn't going to send them with star cases and they were c8-9 condition (minor bends inthe corner).  It is just I am getting married in 2 weeks and right now 30 dollars is the price of one guest at my wedding.  who will hopefully bring a nice gift or dare I say money.  I know the price for the figs was great but the shipping without star cases was too much right now.  Like I said hopefully someone needs some star tours figs because I am going down to Disney for my honeymoon and hopefully I can trade for them.  Only time will tell.  Things happen for a reason as they always say.  hwo knows maybe TRU will have the bargain bin again (which I missed).

Towards the end of the EPISODE I line, there were a series of clearances.  Most notably with Toys R Us.  I managed to get several Naboo Royal Guards, Holo Darth Sidious, and corrected Yoda's all in the clearance bins.

I got a few of those as trade bait.  They definitely helped my plug some holes in my collection, AND build up my Naboo Security force.

Ok, I am new to JediDefender, just got fed up at another well known site and made the jump to the light side. This is my first post outside of our group site here.  I guess my question is this. I believe I have an extra Amidala ascension that is loose, but in excellent shape. So two items, IF I sold it would $15 to $20 be a fair price? I am currently selling most of my carded collection and all my extra loose collection (keeping 1 of every figure) so I am thinking I want to sell her, but don't want to rip somebody for it. Make a buck would be nice since it would fuel further collecting this year.  Any advice?

The best place to look would be on eBay to find the going rates. Just type in Amidala Ascension or Amidala Battle in the completed auctions. I'm sure you will find what you are looking for.  ;)

Well, it's a tricky thing selling SW figures...  Some people will cry foul if any figure is sold for more than the $5 - $7 retail value it originally cost.  But most people rightly understand that if a figure is no longer available at retail, as is obviously the case with this Amidala, then the current secondary market dictates it's price.  I'd just take a quick looksee through eBay's completed auctions on this item to get an idea of what's it's currently selling for, and then decide from there what you'd like to get for it.  Based on this (http://search-completed.ebay.com/search/search.dll?query=amidala+battle&ht=1&sosortproperty=1&from=R10&soitemstatus=2&BasicSearch=) (might have to log in to eBay to see these search results), I'd say that $15 - $20 would be "fair".  You could obviously make a little more if you just slapped it on eBay, but if you're looking to just swing a reasonable trade with a fellow collector on the boards, then your numbers should probably be fine there.

In an odd bit of irony here, I got one of my Battle Amidalas in an amazing deal over at RS, from a member "BlackDog" - who I'm guessing is a different person than you.   ;)  I was in the right place at the right time when he unloaded a bunch of the VHTF Ep. 1 figures just about a year ago, all MOMC, and all $5 each!   :o  I was lucky enough to be the first person to contact him, and he amazingly gave me those insane deals (with Holo Sid, Sio Bibble, etc. too).

I told the fella that the figures were worth more than that, if he wasn't aware, just 'cause I didn't want to feel like I was ripping him off.  But he said he already knew that they went for a lot more than that.  One of those beautiful collecting moments...

Not sure if I could've done that myself though!   :-[  But anyway, in your case, $15-$20 would certainly be fair IMO, and I'm sure you could find yourself a deal in that range on the boards here.  There's always folks still looking for that particular figure...

Good luck!   8)

JediMac,

That may have been me, might not have been.  ;) I usually always sell at my cost plus a few extra for shipping and/or gas.  Never been in this to make a ton of money.
This year though I left my nice paying job to become a teacher and money is tight (we have a good amount of $ but it is in IRA's, a 401K etc) and I won't take the penalties for breaking into em (not worth it).
Anyway, thanks all for the advice. I'll check ebay and see what I can get for her so I have money to fund my hobby for the year (not just from her) as I stated earlier and do not have to ask the dear wife for $ from the budget.  Thanks again!

Nope.  Just popped over to RS to double check, and it was actually this "BlackDog" (http://forums.rebelscum.com/cgi-bin/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_profile;u=00004431) (Chris, from North Carolina)

Here's the remnants (http://forums.rebelscum.com/cgi-bin/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic;f=19;t=003376) of his classifieds post, where I scored the serious loot.  Just checked some old e-mails, and for $40, I got MOMC figures of Battle Amidala, Holo Sidious, Naboo Royal Guard, Sio Bibble, Swimming Jar Jar, TC-14, R2-B1 and a POTJ Clean Biker Scout.   :o  I still crap my pants when I think about how lucky I was there!

Anyway, I wasn't suggesting you needed to sell your figures on eBay, but if you really need the extra moolah - then yeah, you'd probably get a little more there than if you traded them to a fellow board member for the $15 or $20 you mentioned earlier.  Good luck whichever way you go...

That's cool. I knew there is a BG at RS and I am TBD at RS.  I am signed up to sell at a local Toy Show on the 2 and 3 of April, so I think I'll try there first. I hate shipping stuff, its a hassle. Looking it over though I would say my biggest items will be a Royal Naboo Starship that is in near mint condition, never opened (red droid and all), a POTF Millenium Falcon in same condition and is Tri-Logo (French, English etc), the loose Amidala, and some other harder to find figures I have in my collection. Then if I am really lucky, my extra carded items and loose items will go. Thanks again for the help!

I seriously don't understand why the last waves of the Ep. I line haven't been reissued. Those are figures that many collectors are clamoring for.

I guess Hasbro thinks that TPM items are retail suicide, like full cases of Clones (yet they'll offer a case of Vader... ::) )

I snagged one of these (as well as a Holo Sidious, 4 sets of Pit Droid 2pks, and a pair of the Naboo Troopers from this wave) for $1 each at a comic book store. I wqas in the back looking at the action figures when the guy behind the counter was having a screaming match with his boss on the phone (and apparantly losing). After he hung up, he came over to me and the other customer in the store at the time and told us we could have anything we wanted on the wall for $1 each as he was quitting in an hour! I cleaned out the aforementioned figures as well as as many of the other Star Wars as my wallet would allow (I scored almost 40 figures1) :D

Seeing as how much she's going for now, I kinda feel bad that I used her for as (as of yet uncompleted) custom :(

I'm surprised a figure like this didn't make it all the way up the '07 fan choice repack contest.
