2018 HasLab - TVC Jabba's Sail Barge (The Khetanna)

Ed, clearly, the Barge is too much work to move. It sounds very difficult. I'll have to come and take it off your hands for you...

It won't be that far of a move.  Within 30 minutes or so.  Not that I'm thinking of selling it, but just for the future in case I decide to get rid of everything, I was wondering if full disassembly was possible to put everything back in the original packaging.  So far, it is mostly disassembled.  Only things I haven't tried yet are the above mentioned sail posts...not really sure if the top portion can be separated from the main beam...and the feet underneath.  Everything else has come apart with no issue and is put back into the original packaging.  I just didn't want to force the thing and break something.

I would focus on taking the side fins off and the sails. I just took the sails off last week to vacuum them, so it's pretty easy. The other thing I would make sure you take out are the three little pieces that plug into the bottom. They're all towards the back and they're small and could be easily lost. Once you do that, take the guns and cannon off the upper deck and wrap the thing in some bubble wrap or paper or something like that. Should be easy enough.

I decided to just pack the sail frames separately.  Looking at assembly videos, I don't think they would come apart easily.  Everything else came apart with no problem and was relatively easy to put back into the original packaging.

The dead ithorian in the barge... he's molded to the ground yeah?  I wanted to take him out to put him on my shelves but he doesn't seem to budge where his legs are touching the ground, despite seeming to have limited articulation otherwise?

I don't recall the exact details, but I believe he's got a peg on him that is secured to the barge somehow.  I know a few people were going to try to get him out so they could scan him for 3-D printing purposes, but not sure if anyone found a way to safely remove him or not.  I guess you could try googling to see if someone found an easy way to get him out of jail/

Well…I FINALLY unpacked my Barge…anyone have a suggestion for in Barge LED lights?  Jeff posted balloon lights which were used in the Cantina glow up shots from Amazon

Every year I put a Christmas Village up I use these tiny little string lights under the snow/buildings. They're basically weightless and flexible. Attached to a small AA battery pack. Never had those bubble lights, so I can't compare their effectiveness. Not positive if this is the brand I bought (it was probably a decade ago) but this is the basic idea. They say 33ft in that link... mine are more like 33 inches.

Welp. I finally did it. I picked up the Barge on eBay, and it was by far the most I've ever spent on a collectible. Most of the Barges I've seen over the last 2-3 months have been listed for $2k+ (a few were as high as $7k). I bid on one that started around $1200 sometime last week but ended up stopping bidding after it got over $1,700 and the seller tried to tell me shipping would be almost $300... That one ended up closing at $1800 (before shipping & tax). I was able to use that number to make an offer to another seller who had one listed for $2,300 and got them to come down to $1,850 ($2,110 total w/ tax & shipping).

It was a large chunk of change, but this is a grail piece for me that has not been getting any cheaper and I just got a bonus at work and had some credit card rewards points to use. Hopefully, if everything goes smoothly with the shipping, I should have it in hand next week.

Yes, congrats!  The barge is by far the best HasLab they've done and displays so nicely along with skiffs, etc.  There are so many figures that fit in that environment.

That's awesome Ryan.  Sometimes I kick myself for not backing this Haslab, but I have no clue where I would put something that big (still struggling with the Ghost!)
