Hey Jake,

Congrast on getting the box set for starters - that's a nice piece.  For the Snowtrooper, I personally would just wait a year for the Deluxe wave to hit.  That has a very similar snowtrooper and you can just swap heads.  That shouldn't be too expensive in comparison and will look better than any kind of fix up job.  Just my two cents.  Good luck whatever you do!

I didn't even think about doing that.  I'm sure the Snowtrooper will be common as well since most of the imperials have been, so that's a plus.  I might keep my eye out for a single Stormtrooper as well in case a really good deal hits eBay, but ultimately I think I will swap the heads when the new Snowtrooper comes out.

Thanks a lot,
Jake

 ;)

Anyone win any of Stealthtank's auctions tonight?  He had some more great items selling, but almost all too pricey for my taste.  I did land the Jedi Chase Fett from S1 for $74.  I almost went for the proto chase too, but it's too similar to the Fett Series common chase to spend a lot on IMO.

I've got a question for all you customizers.  I recently made a purchase on eBay for the Star Wars Mail Away Box Set which includes the Snowtrooper.  I rushed my bid only to realize later that the picture included in the auction was not the actual set being sold and that the Snowtrooper figure had fallen out of a 5th story window of an apartment building!  I'm a little upset with myself because I think I overpaid for the set but at the same time I'm still really excited to get the figures.  Anyway the seller sent me pictures of the Snowtrooper and it actually looks like it is in a lot better shape then I expected.  The only real problem is there is a deep scratch on it's head.  So basically I'm wondering what the best way to remove/cover up the scratch would be.  If you'd like a picture before making a suggestion I can provide one.

Thanks in advance for any suggestions you may have!

I'll count myself lucky that I found this for $34.99.

It's an excellent addition to the collection.

Wow, where did you find it for $35?

@ Justin: yeah, PoD is on my to-read list. I actually tried reading it when it came out but I was having a busy semester and couldn't really get into it. Seemed good though. FYI, the third one is coming out this December.

Thanks for the tip on #3... is it supposed to be three books in total?  I have the second book to read as well, so with fantasy football coming up, hopefully I can stretch it out until December.   ;)  I'm about 2/3 of the way thru POD now and it just keeps getting better.

Well, I'm going to have to pick up a second job.  I just landed an Early Bird set for $79 and the Rebo Band set for $140.  Hoping these were good deals - I couldn't let them pass by at those prices.  They're from the same seller, so hopefully it will be $17 combined shipping.   :-\

Dude! Congrats on those prices, hell of a deal on both.  8)

Thanks!  I had been watching the EB set for a while and was going to try for around $105, so pretty surprised to see it fall to $80. What does the REbo set normally sell for?  I've not seen it lower than $200.

I finally started Path of Destruction this week (First of the Darth Bane novels) and I cannot put it down.  I've read a lot of Star Wars EU and this is quickly becomming my favorite of the bunch.  Non-stop action, character building, just the right amount of background, and a really fun plot to see how a Sith academy is so different and yet strangely similar to the Jedi teachings.  IF anyone was on the fence about this book, I highly recommend picking it up (hope I don't change my mind by the end!).

Very nice John!  I may have to give some of those other characters another chance - the Daredevil & Blackbolt look pretty sweet.

In other Marvel News, I saw wave 2 of the Secret Wars comic packs while browsing on EE.

Check them out right here...

 - Black Spiderman & Magneto is a maybe for me.
 - Iron Man and Spiderwoman - holy crap I want that bad.   :-\
 - Hulk and Cyclops - yuck and what an awful pairing.  I don't know a lot of X-Men & Hulk fans.

I have yet to see one, but am trying my best to hold off for some kind of sale anyway.  I ended up getting the AT-TE for $80 at one point early on at TRU and a free backpack as well.  Will be hard to pass on it when I see it though.   :-\

i want this set !!! ugg  Does anyone plan on getting more than 1?

I'm not positive, but I believe it was one per mailing address.

Also it appears that next week is today  :o  I just received an email and picture of my box set that should be in the mail shortly.  Woot!

So how did you buy this set?  I can't figure out how to even order one outside of Ebay.   :-[  I know the time is already passed - just wondering how for next time I guess.
