and believe it or not, I'm happy.
Maybe it's just the shock, but I think it's the best day of my life.
I was going to quit soon anyway, this just means I can collect unemployment. :)
Unfortunately, it pretty much means the end of my collecting days, at least until I get a new job.
I'm so glad to be out of there. I hated that job with a passion, and this will be the thing that kicks me in the ass and brings much-needed change to my life.
I know I promised to buy things from jadesfire, Famine, and other people, and I apologize, but I'll not be able to buy these things. And Morgbug- I won't be able to buy those 12" figures you asked me about. :(

It's cool that your gonna enjoy yourself. You shouldn't mooch off of unemployment for longer than you need though.

Sorry to hear about your job, but on the bright side you seem pretty positive about it.
Felt the same way about my last job, I put a notice in then they fired me, that was such a relief when they did that.

Thanks. I don't intend to be on unemployment for too long. Just until summer classes start, and I can take out more student loans.
I cashed out my 401k and I'll get that money in June, so that will pay off my car. After that, I'll only have rent and car insurance to worry about. :)

Sorry to hear that Ben, but it sounds like it's for the best. Good luck staying on your feet in the meantime, and hopefully you'll land something better in the near future.
I know I'd be bummed if I lost my job, but at the same time, it'd be the biggest relief in the world, since I'm rather tired of it as well. Just too chicken **** to do anything about it on my own just yet.

I am relieved. When I got there today, I wondered how I could pull myself through another day.
Now, a few hours after the fact, I'm at ease. It's going to suck filing an unemployment claim, but it's something I'll have to do if I wanna eat.
My brother has offered me a business opportunity, so I guess I'll look into that. :)

Congrats I guess then, its moments like these that totally define where your life goes and I always look at it as stay positive and the next path will be that much more rose petaled

Sorry to hear that news Ben, but like has been said, it sounds like maybe you are better off in some senses anyways. Best of luck finding your next opportunity, and finding a job/career that you really enjoy. Take care.

Things like this can sometimes be for the best. I blindly quit a job almost 10 years ago and it motivated me begin a new career which I have been doing ever since.

I felt that way about my previous two career decisions before where I am now.
Good luck, and glad that you are being positive about it. Just don't become a lazy welfare person who otherwise could be productive. ;)

Heh... no worries. I have nothing against the Lefties.
I do have a cousin and aunt who are the most worthless people I know. Love to collect their welfare checks, blow it on junk and beer, and b!tch about not having nothing. Just don't like their attitude, and how they are both taking advantage of the system. People like them chance ruining it for the people that do need to depend on it.

Yes, I do lean to the left, but I have little tolerance for people whose only income is welfare when they're otherwise able to work.
I have a pretty large severance pay coming, and that should last me until summer classes start, so I might be able to skip the unemployment entirely. :)

There's nothing wrong with taking unemployment $$ - big difference between welfare and unemployment!

A little update.
Just as my savings was about to run out, I finally found a job. Ironically, it's doing the same thing I did at my old job, just for a different company. I start Monday.
Pretty much means I can get back in the game again. Happy happy, joy joy!
I had to use the unemployment a little bit, but that happens. :)
