I guess this possible SDCC/Pulse TVC Emperor+Throne set would explain why they haven't revealed the rumored basic card Emperor figure yet (the single carded version is supposed to be in the wave with IG-11, ESB Lando, and Teebo).

This really is THE way to make a ROTJ Emporer Palpatine.  Throne?  Check!  Cane?  Check!  Force Lighting?  CHECK!!!!

Executing the softgoods well continues to be a challenge, but without them the figure would potentially be a statue and you couldn't make the choice of posing him in the throne or with the other accessories.  And I think I might wind up buying at least 2 of these.

And good catch on seeing the different backgrounds, Rob.  Because I totally missed that detail.

Ugh...this is such a foolish thing to make a con exclusive. Are you telling me that fan channel wouldn't have fully supported this? I get not sending it to big-box retailers, but seriously...this is a must-have for fans.
