Target 2021 TVC Droids Carded Figures

It's a cool figure and I'm just a sucker for great vintage homages.

Target says I'll have it on Monday 12/13.

My Droids 3PO is apparently taking the Scenic Midwest tour with shipping delays each day apparently.  He's made stops at FedEx locations in WV, KY, OH, IL and is now in WI.  Current estimated delivery date is 12/17.

F***ing Target must be taking packing lessons from Walmart.  My 2 x C-3PO's arrived yesterday - complete with big-ass stickers on the card, and bent cardbacks from where the Target fulfillment center worker just didn't GAF about how they shipped these out.

Start checking stores.  I saw a case of these at a local store... you just need to look around for them because they weren't in the action figure aisle but on a side of an endcap by the main aisle that splits toys and electronics.  They only had 3PO though.

Hope you carded collector guys have better luck than this guy did. 

Does anyone else see the humor in this? A shocked 3PO dropped to his knees because of the sticker descending on him. Totally sucks for the carded collector but it artfully expresses their exasperation. The packager had to have been trolling.

As for the figure, I love how the deco turned out. That I have to put a dab of silicone (not acrylic or latex caulk) to keep the face plate and back panel from falling off, not so much.

Hmmm.  Did my threat of going to Quebec to find these pay off?  I would have gone this past weekend, but I also would have needed to provide a PCR test result to enter Canada.  I couldn't justify that for what would have amounted to a glorified toy run to Montreal.

But then I also saw something recently from a Canadian collector.  Evidently the price increases are hitting Canada even harder.  I think they're paying $40+ Canadian for some Black Series Deluxe figures, plus the 13% GST.

Well, I just realized I didn't really want these and canceled my 2 Boba Fetts. I generally don't go for the cartoon-painted figures, but the excitement when the went up for sale last year—and the excellent sculpt of that ROTJ Boba—pushed me to pre-order. I think the endless delays and reauthorizations finally got me thinking that I'm just not in love with these things enough to drop almost $40 on two cartoon-painted Boba Fetts.

I saw some social media posts over the weekend of people finding the Droids Boba Fett in the wild.  As for Target fulfilling preorders?  I'm not holding my breath.
