The Vintage Collection / Re: 2012 "Vintage" Collection Wave 12

Let's pray that never happens!

If Hasbro continues to give us the option of having a figure in either form (e.g., a realistic Cad Bane and an animated Cad Bane), then I am right as rain with the whole thing.  But if they were to make, say, Pong Krell only in the realistic line, then I would be quite disappointed.  As far as I am concerned, an animated character should be made in the animated line first, and then a version can be made available in the realistic line down the road.  Just my opinion.

I'm loving realistic Anakin.

As a die-hard fan of the animated line, I still don't know what to think of these realistic "cross-overs."  I really don't have a problem with Hasbro making realistic versions of the core characters from the series, since we already have animated versions available for those of us who prefer to see these in animated form.  But I think that I may shed a small tear into my Coke Zero if Hasbro releases a realistic version of an animated character before that character is made in the animated line.

Saw the one with Ahsoka at a Marshalls today, not the other one. $10 as said.

I checked my local TJ Maxx and Marshall's yesterday after work (interestingly, both stores are in the same shopping center), and there was no sign of these sets.  But, it wasn't a totally wasted trip: I got a Polly Pockets set for my daughter, and I got the TVC Mace Windu (they had tons of the AOTC wave) for $4.99.

The plastic seems much cheaper and it has nearly nothing in the way of articulation compared to its counterpart.
anyone else notice?

I now have two of these troopers in my collection, and I cannot say that I have noticed a difference in the quality of the plastic.  Of course, if you are comparing it to the phase 1 trooper (which first came out in 2008), the newer figure lacks ankle joints, and possibly a waist joint.  But the plastic?  No, I can't tell a difference.

I just tried this last weekend:

The head from Luke Skywalker (Endor Capture) fits nicely on the body of Luke Skywalker (Lightsaber Construction).  This allows us nit-picky collectors to correct Hasbro's "hair" mistake on the newer figure.

Hello, everyone.

Concerning those two mini-rigs: the Hasbro slideshow presentation from Toy Fair states that those two mini-rigs are scheduled to hit retail in April, about the same time wave two of the basic figures are scheduled to arrive.  We should be seeing them in April/May, I would guess.
