Saga Collection '06 / Re: 2006 vOTC (or vTSC) - now with pics!

 :o :o :o

Cool pics. Thanks.

Too bad about the swivel joint elbows, I was hoping for ball joints.

Oh well I still need to get a half a dozen or so. ;)

I'm very tempted to pick up a Medicom Vader and Stormie now that they are hovering around the $110 price.

Me too.  I ordered two the other day.  For that price I couldn't pass it up.  The next day the wife tells me (without knowing about my purchase mind you) "We're on a budget, no extra spending."  I guess I'll try to keep it a secret and blend them in with my Marmits. ;)

As far as my opinions stated above, I've got to say after doing more research into the irregularity of the actual movie costumes, I feel I can welcome these guys into my collection taking on the role as "stunt men" for action poses, whereas the Marmits can just stand around and look good in neutral poses.

Thanks for the pics....so all the Medicoms look good together.
I've got to disagree with you Matt.
If I'm going to shell out $200+ each for some figures they should be in scale at least to each other.
David Prowse who is 6'7" in the Vader suit was close to 7' tall.
Mark Hamill was 5' 8".
Stormtroopers were an average of 6'.

While Vader is taller than the Stromtrooper and the Stormtrooper is taller than Luke but the scale is pretty off.
This is because they are all based off of a the standard RAH 12" body which again for the cost is a real knock against the RAH line.  Scale has always been a huge factor in the world of Star Wars right back to the original Kenner line.

Here are some side by side shots of the RAH and the Marmit.
While the Marmit isn't nearly as posable as the RAH I think it looks better.
Maybe I'm biased because I own four Marmits and I bought RAH Vader and they look ridiculous together.
I'm willing to wait to see what Sideshow brings to the table before I rush out and buy one of these.

The RAH's helmet looks weird too.  Compare with this prop replica:

Huge rarity is separate with no apparent rhyme or reason just that there will be one huge per booster, maybe one VR huge in every third case, and one R  huge in every other case.  The real shaft cases only have UC huges, I was afraid that might happen to me, but thankfully it didn't.

It is possible to get a regular sized VR in the same booster as a huge VR.  It also happens that you will get a huge VR and huge R in the same case.

I don't know what logic those guys at Wizards were using with this distribution system, it seems like it is either feast or famine a lot of the time.

Personally I got very lucky, from four cases I pulled 3 VR huges and 3 R huges so you never know.

Man, I hate to say it, but that sucks Jesse.  You didn't get ANY of the good VRs there...  Damn.  Looks like you've really got your work cut out for you.  :-\

NOT TRUE, you only get two regular sized VRs per case, don't feel that bad about your cases.  Two cases isn't really enought to get much of a start.  At least you got Admiral Ackbar, Prince Xizor and Leia together they all bring a lot to the Rebel Faction.  You did get Dr. E. though but at least you only got one of him... I pulled two  :-\.  At this point I would recommend you buy another case and then buy singles.  If you buy more than a case you will probably run into massive duplication problems.

Other Collectibles / Re: Attakus Dioramas... 3.75" Scale?

Where can I get one or two of these?  I don't care what they cost.  If they cost four grand each I'll still get them, I'll just pay for them for the next five years in installments.
Seriously who is a reputable vendor for Attakus?  With the limited production quantities and quick sellouts I am nervous.  This is a must have.  A must.
Maybe I should consider alittle more carefully. :-\

Are you in Canada?

Yeah, I am.

UPS, FedEx, DHL - they all hit ya with brokerage fees.

I should have been smarter and put in a request to have them sent by USPS when I ordered them.   :-\

Don't forget about your other alternative if you deal with guys in Canada! Canada Post....argh!  Talk about a hindering infrastructure.

I decided to trade my extras minis with some dudes in the States, I ended up paying between $5.50 and $12.50 per package with Canada Post, they use USPS and they are paying like $1.50 to $3.00.

This is my most favourie thread of all time.  And it just keeps going and going. 8)

162
I had always planned to have it flanked by my two Marmit Stormtroopers but that just looks dumb.  He looks like Hayden is in the suit scale wise.

Also there is a casting flaw on the one I got's cod piece!  The line is bowed on one side.  And is it just me or is that cod piece way to high around his waist?

I finally got mine today.

My hopes were really high for this one and it left me very disappointed. :'( :'(  The box was flimsy and came with a mashed corner.  Vader's chest plate has a hook in it to hold the cape chain in place so the plastic bent and it sticks out at a weird angle.    Plus he is really small.  I  can't put it anywhere near any figures in that scale because he gets totally dwarfed by them.  I'm just glad he came with a pair of  limp wrist hands so I can pose him crying because he sucks.  What a colossal waste of money.  I feel ripped off.

Man oh Man!  Those new shots lead me to believe 1. that this thing is going to be amazingly detailed and 2. frickn' expensive.  I will be very surprised if they can put these out for less than a grand each. :-\

If it's a 12 inch figure...it does in fact belong in the 12 inch figure section...

Kevin

You'd think so would you?

What is your rational for burying it in the other collectibles section Jedi Mac?

And why did you leave the RAH Jedi Luke thread here?

C'mon any day now a lot of people are going to start getting packages from Japan and their going to want to talk about it.

Bring Vader back.  I call shenanigans. :-*
