Hmm, maybe I don't have to crack the seal on my Han/TaunTaun. Get new Han, get four pack with tauntaun, world is happy place.

I really like this 4-pack too, it will be nice to have some more OT figures, especially to go with the Hoth Han from this year...it will help to make a nice Hoth setup. I hope we can all find these :).

That snotty thing is the Tauntaun's inards. Apparently we can pull it of the split belly. I guess its re-colored Acklay beast guts from that that beast. Pretty cool. I don't mind paying the $20 plus for this set.
Just need to locate it at retail :)

When is it being released? Honestly, I think this will be the last set to sell well. The next ones (bounty hunters, Jedi) seem like they'll sit around forever.

I really like it. These are all figures (with the exception of Luke) that could use some retooling, but nothing to warrant a resculpt (Chewie and Leia). Hoth Luke however needs redone head to toe, like Hoth Han.
Looking forward to this one.

My wife (Carrie aka carebear) picked me up one of these today! It is awesome!!! There's only one bad thing about it, and Princess Leia looks black. Her sculpt is gorgeous, but the paint job on her face is awful. I should have pictures of this up online in a little bit. I had to tell everyone that I got this today. ;D

I too just found this today at TRU (Roseville MN). Excellent set for the money. The Taun-Taun is GREAT!
Leia is the worst of the bunch, but I love Taun-Tauns and droids.
The new Hoth Han looks cool riding this new TaunTaun too!

Dustrho, based on your pictures, Leia also looks like she has some different colored elbows and arms (One appears to be brighter than the other). Looks like an awesome set nonetheless!

I think it had to be the lighting in the picture, because her outfit is consist in color. Must have been a glare because of the plastic bubble holding the figure.
The only color that is truly messed up is her face and hands... she doesn't look right at all. :-\

From what I have seen, it looks like it's a open belly Taun Taun. Not sure till someone actually opens there package. :P

I already told you what I thought about Leia's face. She doesn't look quite right. And that Tauntaun definitely has a split belly. I would only assume the guts will fit inside of it.

The innards DO fit inside, although the palstic on the TaunTaun is pretty rigid so it is a little tricky to get them in there. They look much better partially splayed out of the belly.
Also, for those wondering, they did away with the "push-button" on the saddle that would make the Taun-Taun "run" on the older PotF2 versions.
(althought when you look inside the TaunTaun belly, you can see they left the gears on the legs so you can see how the other version works).
So, IMHO, it is MUCH easlier to get this Taun Taun to stand in many different positions without the funky running mechanism. Also makes the saddle look a bit smoother/cleaner.
Just some random TaunTaun bits for ya!

This set and the Imperial Set are both some of the coolest things to come out this year IMO. $20 for four figures and a Tauntaun can't be beat.
Here's to hoping they continue with these sets and start pumping out some new figures in there as well :-*

I went to TRU looking for the Hoth pack... no such luck... I'll be looking for that thing, it's awesome - great selection of figures considering the only one Ive got is the Chewie.

For those of you that have not opened and are planning. Be careful with the Tauntaun intestines. They are very soft and are attached to a plastic band. I ended up tearing mine, not realizing how tight the band was attached. >:(

I just picked up the Hoth 4 pack. 8) Yep, she has different color arms. 1 white & 1 kinda a white/biege color. ???
Pricey up here. There $34.99 CDN so thats $25.64 US! :o A big difference of the $19.99 US = $14.65 US! :-\

I have picked up a total of two of these... one for me and one for a good buddy of mine. Neither one of them have an unbroken horn. :(

So you're saying BOTH of yours came with the broken horn version of the Tauntaun Chris? That was how the original (early prototype) pictures appeared, but it looks like Hasbro fixed the mistake and is now shipping the correct (Han's) full horned Tauntaun. GH mentioned this, and made it sound like they might all be this way. Now I'm very curious to see if both of the horn variations are showing up at retail...
What has everyone else found so far?

I found the Hoth set yesterday and picked it up. My Tauntaun came with a broken horn (Luke's Tauntaun). I was a little disappointed with the split-belly feature, being that the plastic is kinda hard and closes up to its original position right away. It's hard to fit a figure in the belly, let alone the delicate guts. The Leia fig sucks, but the others are alright (especially the droid). It's definitely the best set out of the three (versus Imperial Forces & Bounty Hunters).

Matt, both of my Hoth 4-packs have the broken horn on them. I thought that was the normal version, with the full horn being the variation.
It's a shame how pitiful the Leia figure is... two different colored arms and the ultra-tanned face/hands. It's a shame and embarassment on Hasbro's part. Everything else in the set is pretty cool though.

I agree with FG on the belly feature, could have been softer to recreate the scene better but not a huge deal

The one I got today from Amazon.com has the broken horn. Cool set though and my Leia isn't too bad. I guess I got a better paint job than others.

I also got my set from Amazon yesterday, and my Tauntaun had the broken horn as well. This is the only one of these packs I've picked up so far, but I think it is worth the money. I didn't have a Tauntaun in my collection, so that was enough for me, and the figures are pretty good too. My Leia doesn't look too bad either, paint doesn't seem to be too bad at least.

I just got one yesterday. Opened it this morning. Pretty cool so far. I didn't want to jam Luke too far into the Tauntaun, as well as the guts.
As for the horn variant...I haven't seen it yet. I looked through about a case or so, and all the horns were broken.

All the sets I've seen so far have the broken horn as well. Anyone out there find the other version yet?
As for the set itself, the Luke and Leia figures suck, but the orange astromech and the snowy Chewie are rather cool! Wish I could get more of the cool astromechs from these sets separately though! :-\

I agree with others that this set's turned into an improvement. The only thing though is that I only want the 2-Horn variant. :( Which at this time seems the most difficult to find.
Luckily, my area dried up as far as Bounty Hunter sets which SUCKED. Fortunately they sold mostly. Sad that the sporatic spottings of them became instant pegwarmers though.
The Imperial set seems to sell in a trickle... There's definitely less now then a month ago. I may nab another to do my "army building duty" and help clear this crap out.
And then just hope I get a non-broken-horn variant of the Hoth set at some point.
At that stage, unless they REALLY rethink how they do these 4-packs, I'd be content to see them go the way of the do-do...
If they became army building sets, or if the figures saw HEAVY retooling, such as new legs or whatnot, I could go for new sets. Until that point, these are just not that great for me to want more.

I got this today, Luke's Broken horn tauntaun, mind you.
I will probably buy the one with 2 normal horns if i see it, just so my Han can ride a tauntaun..maybe trade off the extra figures...not counting on finding it though. I like the little astro droid in the set, and I think chewie could use some more snow in his fur....Luke is the weak point of this set but he will be replaced soon anyway...
The tauntaun should have been made of softer plastic, thats my only complaint. I actually cut my thumb trying to jam the jelly guts inside it...

Forgot to mention this last week (Thursday), but I finally found the Tauntaun with the FULL horn! Oddly enough, there were two Hoth sets sitting aside seperately, and they were both the revised full tusk versions, even though there were about 20 sets on the shelves, all with the previous broken horn.
First and last time I've seen the full horn, but at least they're finally starting to show up now! So keep your eyes peeled if you're looking for the more accurate version... 8)

They might. Depends what's sitting in the warehouse though. I'd like to get the full horn version as well.

UPDATE: I saw several of the FULL horned Tauntauns at all three of the TRUs that I went to tonight. So they're definitely starting to hit in decent numbers now, so hopefully it's not too long 'til everyone else gets a shot at the correct version as well... 8)
Some pretty damned sloppy paintjobs on that poor R3 astromech though... :-\

I was so excited to see one at retail that I just went ahead and bought it. I don't even know which horn it is since I'm at work.
I was a nerdy collector though and ripped it open. Took my recently acquired Han Hoth and made him slash the Tautaun with the guts pulled halfway out. Did the voices in my head of Han putting Luke in the guts and imagined it smelling bad!!!
Super nerd Darth-Broem was in full force this weekend and I LOVED it!!!
