Nice! Where did you find those, Pete?

Agreed, that looks awesome and is a must buy. Not sure what other deluxe sets they could possibly follow it up with, maybe Rick and his horse, but even if it is just a one-off it's a cool idea.

The Clone Wars '08-'13 / Re: Recent Clone Wars Finds/Purchases
« on: September 20, 2013, 09:01 AM »
While scouring Walgreens for Walking Dead figures yesterday, I happened across an IG-86 on the pegs in its original clone helmet card. Man, those was a long time ago! It was on sale for $7 I believe but I'm pretty sure I could find one on eBay cheaper than that.

Be sure to look along the end caps throughout the store and on the top shelves as well. On Sunday I found a display case on the top shelf of the toy aisle, and last night I almost walked empty-handed out of a store that had a full display case of 12 figures near the front checkouts. It was just luck that I looked down as I was passing the display. And both of these stores had at least 1 Rick on a peg in the toy aisle that had been there for a few days.

Thanks for the tip, I finally found a full display of these at Walgreen's today too, on an island between 2 aisles. If I hadn't known to look I would have easily missed them. They had 2 Andreas, so I was able to get a less googly-eyed one. Wave complete!

I picked up almost all of TV Series 4 at Walgreen's today after work! The only one missing was Andrea.  :(

They had about 3 Carls and I was able to get one with crisp paint apps but the Gov could have been a little sharper around the hairline. They only had 1 of him and the zombies so I couldn't be choosy.

The Riot Gear Zombies are freaking excellent. I could see army building those guys even.

Seems pretty hit or miss as far as finding these though, I only saw them at 1 Walgreen's today out of 5 that I checked. (Yeah, we have a lot of those here) There are 3 more close to work I can check out tomorrow though so we'll see. Fingers crossed I can find Andrea and knock this wave out completely.

The Black Series 6" Figures / Re: 6" Black Series - 2013 Wave 1
« on: September 17, 2013, 09:16 AM »
I'm already getting tired of seeing Wave 1. I hope Hasbro did not overproduce this wave like they tend to do right out of the gate, especially with Walmart out of the game. I don't think they can count on consumers buying up multiples of these like they do the smaller figures.

The inevitable spin-off is coming in 2015. Suprised it took them this long.

Yeah, it was inevitable with Breaking Bad and Mad Men going off the air.

I think this has a lot of potential promise if done well. The best thing will be that they won't be constrained by the events in the comic, it will be completely uncharted territory and spoiler-free.

And maybe they will finally have some storylines related to how this all began because it still bugs me that there is that huge blind spot.

Middle Earth / Re: The Hobbit - Toy Line
« on: September 15, 2013, 02:01 PM »
It turns out I did pretty well, the only stuff I still need is:
SDCC Invisible Bilbo
Single carded Gandalf (if he is in fact different from the 2-pack release)
Balin

I think I will probably just end up buying all this stuff on eBay. (unless anyone has any cheap extras - PM me ;))

I opened up all the stuff last night, just as good as I expected. My only minor gripe would be that there's sometimes too many weapons for one character to hold, but too much is always better than not enough. And Gandalf's hat seems to fall off if I even look at it wrong. But overall I am super pleased with the line, hope the other stuff shown finds its way out.

I was practically begging for an excuse to jump into this line. But like Chewie, these NEVER made it to a reasonably priced Walmart or Target around here. Nor to either of our remaining K-Marts. I would have gone nuts on clearance Hobbit figs. Guess it wasn't meant to be.

Our TRU still has a buttload of these too, and based on their stubborn refusal to lower the price, they will be collecting dust for awhile. They've still got Pirates of the Carribean figures on the pegs for chrissakes!

Hah ha, very late arriving to the party but I broke down and loaded up on this stuff today.  ;D

The combination of TRU's 50% Off all Hobbit merchandise + payday = toy throwdown.

Have been re-reading the thread from start to finish to see what else I may be missing, and there are definitely a few things. Gonna try the other TRU across town to try my luck this evening.

And one thing's for sure: I'm opening the crap out of these things!

The Ninja Turtles sewer playset made it, though, and that's probably the closest thing to a collectible on the list.

LOL, and Hasbro maintains kids don't want playsets. NOT!

I saw those today for the first time at TRU too. They had all of them, even Widow.

Not my thing, but they looked halfway decent.

Hmmm, not sure about this idea.

If she's doing 100% of the screenwriting, plotting etc I'm on board. That seems to be the idea now but who knows. Too many cooks spoil the broth.

I wish she would just write more books and then adapt those for cinema. This cutting out the middle man stuff sort of defeats the best thing about this franchise - how excited it got kids about reading.

Walmart uses kid-test groups to rate the hot holiday toys this year:

They don't give the full Top-20 list in this article, but I'm willing to bet Angry Birds did not make the cut.

ANOTHER report this morning of Malgi spotted at 5B in Texas. (JTA) And to pour even more salt into the wounds, they're now getting cool TCW figures like Clone Commander Fox too. Dang, I would load up on some of those.

Please bring some of that Texas love to sweet VA.
