Other Collectibles / Re: The Black Series -- 1:1 Helmet Replicas
« on: September 27, 2023, 08:03 AM »
I am not sure if the Ikea cube shelf I have is a Detolf, but at one point I was displaying a few helmets in one.  The rangefinder on Boba (and I'd imagine the others as well) did not fit, but otherwise it was OK.  Vader was snug against the sides at the very bottom of the helmet.

I am currently using black metal helmet hangers from Amazon.  Makes them look like they are "floating" on the wall.

These are my primary collecting focus now.  I have them hanging on the walls in my man-cave.  The recently-released (and still available for retail) Biker Scout helmet is one of the best that they've done.

Could be a direct to D+ movie...

Why would you need Vader's meditation chamber?  That was on his Star Destroyer.

In the scenes cut from the beginning of Return of the Jedi, the first place Vader goes upon his arrival at Death Star II is his meditation chamber.

Isn't the "Meditation Chamber" the first place everyone goes after a long flight?

I agree with Dave here.

The first 30 minutes of this movie were magical.  Overall, I loved the film.  I did think there was a segment they could have cut to keep the pace going.  There's a segment that is much like Rise of Skywalker, where they search for Macguffin A to find Macguffin B (that silly Sith knife).

I found myself really sad at the end as this is most likely the swan song for one of cinema's greatest characters.

From Variety:

Based on the recent LFL announcements at Celebration:  one is the Rey movie, one is the Filoni Mando-verse movie, and then James Mangold's "Dawn of the Jedi" era movie.  Seems like a lot of new Star Wars movies packed into a 20 month period.   Based on how they move things around these days though, I'm sure it will all change again before the first one of these three is actually released...

Nailed it.  EVERYTHING is up in the air until the WGA strike is resolved, even more so if SAG decides to join in.

Style wise?  The colors are pretty bold.  My own preference would have been to use those colors for each droid, but in more of the "used universe" style that we're so accustomed to.  But I think the designers wanted to go bold for Pride.  I can't fault them for that at all.

Agreed.  I'm not sure I can mix these in with my Jawa droid lot of droids as they don't aesthetically fit.  Not sure exactly where I'll put these yet.

I think the set really stands on its own as a statement release.  And that's great.  I consider myself an ally, and I've been thinking about giving the box set as a gift to someone in my life that recently came out.  They're into Star Wars and I think this might really be the right gift to give.

This is awesome!

Another biggie got here last night... it's clean and the color is great.  The top fin is slightly crooked but I can live with it.  The stickers seem to have mold on them, so while it's not what I was hoping for, I've ordered replacements.

Vehicle-wise, my list is down to an Ewok Battle Wagon, Imperial Cruiser, and Imperial Troop Transporter, but there's a cruiser in the mail. I also need to finish up the rarer of the mini-rigs; ATL Interceptor, Side Gunner, One-Manned Sand Skimmer, Sniper, and Security Scout.

I see so many of these with the cannon on it upside-down.  How easy is that to fix (or can it not be removed)?

I will be sad when you are complete and the updates here end.  Very cool stuff.

They need to sell that stand separately.  I got a third-party one off of EBay and it was trash.

Hey Disney:  We need a prop replica of Nurhachi.

Two major ones come to mind,

1. Baze Malbus
2. Bodhi Rook

That business with Luthen and the Imperial cruiser was some of the best Star Wars ever.

I didn't see a thread for this...

What did you all think of the series?  Aside from the sort of dull opening episode, I thought the rest was really good.  The Dooku arc was really well done.
