Star Wars Action Figures / Commander Rohlan KOTOR Mando
« on: February 20, 2007, 05:26 AM »
After seeing Sithfire's awesome version of this character, I had to give this a go. This figure was made using a VOTC Boba Fett, FixIt (my first custom using the stuff, and it really is as great as everyone has been saying it is), and leather for all the straps. I still have to do the rifle, jetpack, tubes connecting to the jet pack, and I have to touch up the shoulder armor a bit (which I decided to make smaller than it is in the ref pics) but other than that, this guy is pretty much complete, and I would def say he's my favorite custom I have done so far.

Thanks for the comments guys, this one was fun to make. I actually got the ideas for the holsters after seeing the great stuff Hemble does with soft goods, and the good part is they only took about two minutes to make, and aeseven, I looked at how you weathered your Mandos and tried to do something similair with this guy. Hopefully I can tackle more Mandos from this comic book series soon, but next I'm gonna take a shot at a Commander Rohlan custom and see how that works out.

Star Wars Action Figures / SA Open Seasons Jango Fett (Alt Outfit)
« on: January 28, 2007, 09:35 AM »
This custom is based on one of the outfits Jango had on in the "Open Seasons" comic series. I took some artistic license, as I only had one image to work from. He was made using a VOTC Fett, leather (for the holsters), styrene (shin armor), and green stuff (thigh armor, pants, shoe armor). The only thing I may consider having another go at is the shin armor (next time with thinner styrene), but other than that, I'm pretty happy with how this guy came out, and I really prefer him over my last Jango custom.

Star Wars Action Figures / Re: SA Dash Rendar

Thanks guys. I agree, Dash Rendar is a really overlooked character in the Star Wars universe, and I would really like to a see Hasbro release a SA version of him sometime.

Star Wars Action Figures / SA Dash Rendar

I've always been a big fan of this character and it doesn't look like he will be getting a new figure anytime soon, so I decided to take a go at it. He was made using a VSTC Han, a Dash Rendar head, and lots of green stuff. As with all my customs, I may touch him up a bit more in the future, but here he is for now. Big thanks to Glassman for hollowing out the head for me.

Thanks for the compliments.

Did you add this one to the current group project?

Yea, I just went back and edited my post to include the new Jango.

Bump for update.

So here is my last Mando for a while (although I did this figure a while back). The belt came from an OTC Fett and the holster and cape are from the 300th Fett. I used the 12' figure and some movie stills for reference.

UPDATE 10/29/06

I added a new head (thanks to Glassman) and gave him a new paint job. I also put him on a card I bought off Ebay.

Star Wars Action Figures / Re: Jodo Kast
« on: July 14, 2006, 05:36 PM »
Thanks for the comments. The belt was made using some spare parts that came with one of those ultimate soldier figures (the pouches) and some epoxy putty for the rest.

Based on the Jodo Kast seen in "Twin Engines of Destruction". Figure was made using a VOTC Boba Fett, epoxy putty, and some spare parts I had laying around. The rifle may seem a bit off but I wanted to match it to the comic book. As always, comments are appreciated.

The holsters were cut from a Jango and the straps were sculpted on using epoxy putty.

Thanks for all of the compliments. The helmet is not removable but that may change once I find a decent head to use.
