R.I.P. James… Beam him up :-\

Dead at 85?
Now his poor 5 year old daughter will hardly get to know her father.

R.I.P. :(

Ah crap!

Sad to see another one of the original cast go. Though I somewhat dislike Star Trek (from a competitive standpoint), I've gained an appreciation for the originals over the years.
Never knew Doohan disliked Shatner so much. Also didn't realize he was missing his middle finger (shot off in WWII while storming the beach). Pretty amazing he made it through all that filming over the years without them showing that particular hand.
R.I.P. Scotty. I hope you've been beamed up to a better place now...

RIP Scotty. :'(

I'm also not really a fan of Star Trek, but I did enjoy the originals when I was a kid...watching the reruns with my dad a lot. He was a fan of those. Sad to see Doohan go, seemed like a nice guy...and one of my favorite characters when I was a wee one :). Blessings to his friends and family, and to the Trek fans.

RIP "Scotty".

I think the views can only see it in two epsiodes or so.

Rest in peace, Scotty.

I enjoyed the Scotty character the most I think from that series. Him and Dr. McCoy. Doohan seemed like a nice guy IMO. Sad to see him go really. Yeah, I never knew he did not like Shatner. I just assumed the guy liked everything about that program including the actors. Guess not.

Sad to see another member of the TOS crew go, especially Scotty, who was an inspiration to all of us engineers. Always make them think you're a miracle worker! 8)
Of course he would go, after my dead pool league closed down....

Last I saw of him was in "National Lampoons: Loaded Weapon 1". Hilarious.

Very nice. :)
James will be sent to space just like Gene Roddenberry. 8)
James Doohan to be sent to his final frontier (http://edition.cnn.com/2005/SHOWBIZ/TV/07/21/doohan.space.ap/index.html)

Last film I saw him in was Bugbuster. This sucks- classic Trek undoubtedly rules the boob tube, but I suppose he's at peace now. Godspeed Jimmy!

Never sat down to watch a full episode of Trek (I find it boring), but I've heard the line many times. RIP :'(

They made it so. :)
Ashes of Star Trek's 'Scotty' fired into space (http://www.cnn.com/2007/TECH/space/04/28/scott.launch.ap/index.html)
Astronaut Gordon "Gordo" Cooper also soared into suborbital space. :)
