League # 8543

Same settings as last year, draft is in three weeks, less a day. Comments?
-
Any chance it could be moved back one evening to the Tuesday? Marin comes home that Wednesday night and I have to get her at the airport... :-\
-
Never let it be said I am completely cold and heartless.

Done.
Ah, young love. I expect a wedding invitation. :-*
-
You are almost completely cold and heartless. :P
I'm in.
-
Thanks Brent. :)
I'm all signed up.
-
Anybody else.
-
Someone has to finish in last place... :P
-
Could use a few more bodies in there. Ten would be an ideal number.
-
Hello? McFly? McFly? Bueller? Bueller?
Room for up to six more. Five more when Jeff gets off his ass. Draft in 3 days and change.
-
Don't we usually have about 9? Who's missing from the regular pool? Maybe we could email them and see what's up.
-

Fine, fine, fine... stop nagging. ::)
-
Jamie and Jason are missing. Mikey has played in the past. Otherwise new blood.

You know you love it. :-*

Has Mr. Tequila Margarita signed up for our league? :D
-
No, I think he's scared. I'll tell him you're calling him out though.
-
Last chance to sign up. No experience necessary. Draft is tonight, 8:30 Central. No stress, let the computer pick for you. :)
-
::) ::) ::) ::)
damn kids... I totally missed the draft. Here's hoping Yahoo didn't screw me over... :-[
edit:
OK, so I looked over my team, and it's not terrible, but I really wish I could have been there paying attention as I probably would have done a few things differently. :-\ Ah well, draft usually doesn't matter all that much anyway. :P

Ditto. But I've got a number of players I'm quite happy with. For those of you that were there, do you remember the order that each team picked?
-
I remember I was dead last. :P

Thanks Rob! I figured I must have been pretty close to the top to get Crosby. :)

Joe Thornton is pretty nice pick though for last.

Well yeah, the link I posted shows that you drafted him with the second pick. :)

So has this thing started? The league page says scoring started on September 29th, I'm getting notes about how Lundqvist won tonight in the season opener, but the stat-tracker isn't showing any scoring at all for any team.
?
-
Yeah, it has started, but only the games in Europe. The stat-tracker is only sort of working at this point, because while there are a couple of legitimate games in Europe, the rest of the teams back in North America are still playing exhibition games. They can't get it to discern between the two at this point, so it'll be fuzzy until later in the week when the rest of the teams all start up.
-
Ugh... with everything going on around here lately, I keep neglecting my team... I've been forgetting to check rosters, set line-ups, etc. I suck. :-[
-
Uh, aren't you in first place? Or are you more concerned your lead isn't large enough to sustain my typical late season challenge? Cuz I'm looking at the order of the placings and going yup, looks right to me except I need to pass you again, but I think I'm down on games right now.
-
So much for relying on Yahoo for injury updates...
"Injured Flyers centre Briere out for up to a month"
No little yellow square with a red alert image on it on Yahoo anywhere, and this happened nearly a week ago. ::)
-
This is just like last year, I'm competing for (or in) first place for the beginning of the season, but last year I petered out and finished 4th. We'll see what happens.
-
Argh. Nabokov's out. It keeps looking like he's coming back, but then he doesn't skate. Hopefully this won't be a nagging injury...
-
Woah, 20 pt night for Brent - nicely done.

This year has been terrible... minimal effort has kept my team in the middle of the pack, but starting a new job (one which doesn't let you do fantasy sports on the internet) has severly impacted my free time to keep up with my team and the NHL in general.
I need to put a big sticky note on my PC that says, "check your fantasy team, stupid" because the only time I ever remember I need to do it is when I'm away from the PC. ::)

Well I guess that works in my favour, 'cause I kinda like being in 1st. ;)
BTW, congrats on the new job!
-
Only 2 pts separate me and Brent. I think I'm in trouble...
-
I think it's going to be a really cool finish to the year. Pretty much any of you, me, Scott or Jeff could win this thing.
-
Of all the times to lose key players - Nabokov is DTD and Khabibulin is on the IR, and Lucic and Crosby are DTD as well. ::)
-
Lots and lots of time left. Still a four person race.
-
Who has Malkin? You've gotta be doing pretty well considering his tear he's on. Fleury's playing pretty incredible too.
-
It was a great season and tight all the way, but congrats to Brent for the win. I just have to try and hold off Jeff for 3rd...
-
Congrats Brent, I swear me being in first place for a day a few weeks ago must have motivated your team to new heights
-
Thanks guys. I had to pull the boys over to the bench and give them my best 'Don Cherry' routine for sure. They were really dogging it for a while there, but picked it up nicely. First time in four years for the win, so feels really nice.
It also brings us to the time of year in fantasy where I'm happiest because I only have to watch baseball and golf pools. Every September I feel like quitting fantasy because we're still a month from the end of those two seasons, football is going strong and the hockey and basketball drafts are coming on in short time.
-
Time to change your sig, eh?
Oh, and Jeff you suck for passing me by ONE point. >:(
