We had a record of nearly 8 inches of rain in a 24 hour period from Tuesday and Wednesday of this week.  They say we are going to have more T-storms sometime today.  Yeah, can't wait for that!

Just had a nice thunderstorm for the past couple of hrs. I tried to get movie pic's with my digital camera but my memory card is only 16 meg. I got tired running back & forth to my PC to download. I did get a few flashes of lighting but missed a lot of good ones. First time I tried to take movie pic's with it.

The lighting was bright towards the end as it was passing over us & the thunder was deafening. It shook the place up.  :o

Dale, you're telling me you don't have a bigger flash memory card for that new digital camera of yours?  Get yourself a bigger card ya cheapskate.   ;)

I also thought it snowed all year round up in your area.    ;)

I have to get a bigger memory card. That storm was awesome. There were times the lighting was in your face. A big old flash, then I was seeing a white for awhile. Nothing like pitch darkness then, crap, I'm blind.  ;D

Wish I had a little snow right now to cool things down. Oh well, more storms to come with the heat wave.  ;)   8)

Right now it's hot, muggy & just perfect for some thunder boomers.  Hopefully we get another show today or tonight.
Now that I just got a 64 MB memory card, thats all they had, maybe I can catch some good shots.  8)

Chris,

Have you ever checked this site out?

http://www.lightningstorm.com/

I clicked on Discover Lightning & then scrolled down to the Photo Gallery.   :o

Awesome stuff.   8)

It has sucked down here (you and Bob are the only people I can say that too) so much with respect to thunderstorms.  We've had three all year.  Lots of hot, muggy weather, just nothing at all being generated.  Got a shot tomorrow night after a high of 31, but it's seemed more like Vancouver than the prairies lately. :-\

Caught Dale's comment as well as seeing the forecast for his area, so he can tell us all about it.  Same storm is supposed to move through my area tomorrow around lunch, making it suckier due to the daylight.

Another bad year locally for thunderstorms, or more precisely a lack thereof.  Just like last year, few and far between.  Very cold, relatively speaking this year, so not much heat generated.  Coldest record ever on summer for us so far :-\
