I'm thinking about going, I'd really like to get some autographed figures.  Anyone know how much the Star Wars signers charge?

While I'm a fan of my neighbors to the north, any country that gave me hockey and Labatt Blue is fine by me, I don't know if we should trust them....

Watto's Junk Yard / Re: Your Break Up Stories
« on: June 30, 2003, 10:38 PM »
I don't have anything that can top Chris' story.  I've had 2 serious girlfriends and each time I've gotten dumped.  The first one dumped me for no appearant reason.  She said her feelings changed and that's it.  Whatever.

The second one was my junior year of college, and I had a really good relationship with this girl.  I moved back home for the summer to take an internship with the legislature, since I live in the state capital.  It was about a month after school got out.  I went out to go to a concert with some friends and visit her.  The day it happened I was having a great day.  I did a toy run and found 3 figures I had been looking for.  It was the POTJ Sandtrooper wave.  My friends and I got drunk in the afternoon and destroyed some stuff.  She gets back from work, and tells me she doesn't think we should see each other anymore.  Way to ruin my good day.  About a week later she starts dating one of my co-workers, we worked at the same place, so,  I think she was cheating on me.

But, I feel vindicated.  To this day she tells me I was the best boyfriend she's had and what a mistake it was breaking up with me.  Sucks for her....

I have a really great break up story involving a friend of mine, but its a little too risque to post

Watto's Junk Yard / Re: Ever Walk Out of A Movie?
« on: June 29, 2003, 12:28 PM »
I've never walked out of a movie.  I would have walked out of Solaris, but I didn't have a ride home.  I kept watching, hoping something cool would happen.  Instead they just showed Clooney's ass

Watto's Junk Yard / Re: What are you guys doing this summer?
« on: June 26, 2003, 08:59 PM »
I'm not doing much.  My one summer class is done in a week, and I only work 3 days a week right now.  I'm going to try to up it to 4 days once class is over

Otherwise my big plan is to read a lot, go to the beach, catch a few baseball games.  The usual

Watto's Junk Yard / Re: The Official I HATE HARRY POTTER THREAD

Dude, no offense, but those are some pretty stupid reasons

1: There are people that get over-excited over just about anything.  For instance, people who collect toys based on a 1977 sci-fi/fantasy movie and then talk about them on internet message boards  ;)

2: The first Harry Potter book came out in 1998.  Its now 2003 and its more popular than ever.  That's not a trend.  New Coke was a trend

3: I'm not sure why earning more money is a bad thing.  I am willing to bet that JK Rowling has always envisioned telling the Harry Potter story over a series of books, not just one.  By your logic, anyone who wants to make money than is needed for a comfortable life, is a money grubber

4: Of course kids can't be wizards, just like people can't have jedi powers, have working lightsabers, and have spaceships that can travel at faster than light speeds.

Your kung-fu is weak.  You're certainly free to hate Harry Potter if you want, but if I had to guess, you're a teenager trying to be a rebel.  Right now everyone loves Harry Potter, therefore, its pretty easy to be a rebel by hating it

Somehow I think Josh was pulling numbers out of his ass in an attempt to be funny.

If anyone wants to see an example of internet dating at its finest, they should visit Tucker Max's website.  Some of his stories are not appropriate for kiddies, so I won't post the link, but its not hard to find.

So, DG, what exactly is it about Harry Potter that you don't like?  All you've said is you think it sucks
