Since I'm not posting much as of late....
Just a heads up of sorts to those I'm cool w/ here that are into variations...
The Arc Trooper is shipping w/ a pretty significant variation to it.
One is shipping w/ his right shoulder painted grey... the other is painted the same blue as the stripe.
Basically the stripe ends on the grey version whereas the stripe continues on the blue version. Also of note is the shoulder joint on the grey is not painted and is white, but on the blue it is painted blue like the stripe.
I do not have any pics since I well... haven't taken any yet... but if I get off my lazy *** I'll post some up.
I believe these variation exist on both the single carded version and value pack.
I have a single carded and value pack carded but both are the grey... though I have 4 loose grey and 5 loose blue that all came from value packs. So I can say it at the very least exists on the value packs in both versions...
Have fun...

Just checked my ARC and its gotta gray shoulder.

Here is mine, but I have been looking for one as you stated existed but have not had any luck. As far as the one I have I like the Figure... I hate the articulated arm that is usless. :-\

My wife found me the gray variation ARC Trooper today, and I should have pictures posted of it within the next day or so.

Thanks for the Photo Dustrho, that will help me know what to look for. :P

Well that's just swell.....the one Arc trooper I buy first to rip open happens to be the variant that Chris pictured....ARG...LOL
-
So that's what it is?! Thanks for the pics, Chris.

You're welcome for the pictures. I was under the assumption that it was the pauldron that was gray, but it's just that little piece of armor. Pretty lame variation, isn't it? ::)
-
Yeah. I just found that I have both of them.

Yeah. I just found that I have both of them.
Congrats! ;D
It does add a bit of variety in a way, but not much.

I found a Durge carded figure today that has the same kind of shoulder line difference as the ARC Trooper. It is light gray and most (all others) I've seen have that line as the same dark gray as the overall shoulder area.
I'll put up some images asap. Until then, has anyone else seen this on a Durge figure?
-
Thomas,
I have not. However, I am colorblind so I may not easily recognize the difference. I would like to take a gander at your comparisson.

Here are my 'bad' scans, but they'll hopefully do the job. The first is the normal. Sorry to have to do it this way...
-
This is the lighter shoulder stripe variation I have. Hope it shows up okay...
-
Very interesting pictures Thomas. I checked both my Durge's & I have both the dark & light stripes on the shoulders.
Dark on the right & light on the left.

Dark on the top pic & light on the bottom pic.

So that makes 2 of us so far with this variation so far.

You the man Dale!
Verified and better images. Tough to hit those shoulders with a scanner without glare or at the right angle...
Not a major thing, but I assume the lighter would be the one they corrected.

i noticed on the rebelscum photo archives that the grey arc trooper from the regular CW line had two versions, one w/grey sholder pad and one w/blue shoulder pad. was the one with the grey pad just released in the bonus 2-pack or is there one that was also released on a regular single card like the blue pad version?
-
Wish I could help, but I'm not one for variations... :(
:P
-
The grey pad was released in the 2-packs, but also on the earlier single cards. Then the running change was made shortly thereafter to the newer, more accurate blueish color. But it's not an "intentional" paint variation like we're probably going to get on the new Red ARC Trooper, which will probably be made in a blue version later on.
They just realized the paint color was wrong and made some revisions to it. Those earlier grey ones are rather ugly though, as the shoulder articulation point didn't get painted at all (stayed white), so there's a white stripe right in the middle of the grey pad. Bad.
