I'm hoping for something pretty awesome here if the speculation is correct!  I don't have a Resistance fighter yet but would like to.

I wish I had your hope.  If it is indeed an A-Wing, my bar is set to "this is probably a Rebels A-Wing repack" or some similarly underscaled tiny A-Wing.  Especially if this is $30 and that Ski Speeder is $40. :(

I have some degree of hope for a new A-wing.  As far back as one of the set visits it was revealed that A-wings would be in the mix for this movie.  And they turned up again in the BTS video.  Hell, I'd be happy with a repaint of the 2008 Green Leader A-wing.

Pics have leaked via social of the A-wing. It looks fantastic in my opinion. It includes a female pilot "Tallie". Doesn't look to have a removable helmet but it doesn't have a banana visor that plagued the TFA line.

Um, wow.   :o  It looks great.  The visor doesn't seem too bad, but will need to get a closer look. Definitely picking this one up.

It looks pretty good so far.  It's definitely not the Rebels version.  And I love the McQuarrie inspired deco!

Glad you guys were right - that TLJ A-wing does look pretty nice so far.  Can't wait to see it up close!

Also glad to see the "Banana Visor" thing is apparently dead too. :)

Glad to see these pics.  The blasters alone look like a clear departure from the old A-wing mold that was originally in the POTF line and got reissued multiple times (POTF2, SAGA, etc).  I still want to see some better imagery, including the pilot.  Those will no doubt turn up in time.

Better pics are on Instagram of the pilot and the visor is transparent. Looks very good.

Yeah it's a completely new mold (very different from the original AWing, and much larger than the Rebels effort couple years back).  The pilot also looks like a superior effort to pilot figures from TFA.  Ship appears to have projectile feature designed into the lasers and possibly something underneath but no loose shots underneath that I've seen.  The box art implies something firing from the bottom though, yet the toy doesn't really show anything I can see.  Could just be something to do with the movie and nothing the toy has.

Definitely a new model AWing though which is cool and even the pilot has a McQuarrie-esque look to her.

Here's a YouTube video of someone that has the TLJ A-Wing...  While not as intricate as the old tooling, it looks FAR better than the Rebels A-Wing from last year, and even many of the  TFA vehicles...  Then again, I've long been a fan of the A-Wing going back to the old X-Wing games in the 1990s, so I have some bias  ;)

I used to enjoy destroying them in an Interceptor.

That youtube guy needs to dial back his music.

I picked up the new A-Wing this morning and just opened it.  Overall, I really like it!  The design is very much McQuarrie-inspired and looks almost exactly like his concept art for the A-Wing (so this may wind up being used as an R-22 Spearhead instead ;) ).  Lengthwise, the ship is actually slightly longer than the vintage A-Wing tooling, although the new ship is much more slender top to bottom.  I suspect it is under-scaled compared to the "actual" ship in the films, but it still looks with figures standing next to it.  Canopy opens to reveal a reasonably-detailed cockpit, the nose landing gear is retractable, and the missile launching feature easily hidden as the guns.  The Tallie figure has a nice sculpt to it, but I am not a fan of the 5-POA figure style and non-removable helmets.  I also purchased the Paige figure this morning, which looks quite nice with removable helmet and oxygen mask, and am thinking about using that in the A-Wing instead of Tallie.  The TLJ A-Wing is superior to the Rebels one we got last year, but still falls short of the classic vintage tooling - nevertheless I am happy with it  :)

I got the AWing today at K-Mart for a whopping $0.00!  I had points I'd been sitting on the better part of this year, so time to cash in.  Plus like $12 was expiring anyway.  Got that and a Rathtar for freebie free.  Hooray me.

The A-Wing is pretty damn cool.  It's sleeker (IE: Thinner) and a little generally smaller than the old A-Wing sculpt, but miles superior to the A-Wing last year, which I'm customizing into an A-Wing prototype pre-rebellion.

The new one is pretty much everything I could've wanted in a McQuarrie A-Wing I was going to do myself, but now don't have to.  It has a few flaws, mostly minor, but not much.

The Pilot is even decent despite a non-removable bucket and the of course crummy articulation.  She's got a very nice crisp sculpt and even the leg straps and things are sculpted to have depth to them.  Separate bits would've been better but this is life these days.  The separate visor is a vastly superior effort to last year's crap pilots, and the figure is painted very nicely.  Kind of McQuarrie-ish herself really.

The ship's deco is nice...  not great, and lacks the little dirt/soot and silver dings that the POTF2 ship had, but it has some paint chipping and it's generally decent for this era.

The ship has a forward landing gear but not a rear, and I believe I've seen that the ships have 2 rear struts ala the old A-Wing sculpt, and so that's kind of me, but the overall sculpt of the ship is nice and crisp, and the fact you do get one fold away strut in the front is very nice.  Would 2 more have killed em?  Eh, probably not, and I wish it was there.  It's probably my only real gripe.

The ship is narrow but seems accurately scaled, which is my litmus test for whether I even buy a vehicle now or not.  I've compared some pics and things, and I think it's pretty on the mark.  A-Wings have kind of had a history of "what the hell scale is it!?" over the years too, and I suspect the new one may have similar issues, especially as the new production is using a lot less digital work and more practical stuff.

The end result is, for me, a toy that's not quite as good as the old POTF2 ship was, but in this day and age I think this is a nice ship for $30, and I'll be getting 1-2 more for a nice little flight of them, perhaps a custom different squad...  Love me some good quality A-Wing-ing.

I thought K-Mart was bad for collectors?   :P

Glad to hear this is nice, I'll probably try to track one down this weekend some point...

I thought the life sized A-Wing at Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge at Disneyland looked strange. I guess it is this version.

Just like the Police Speeder, price on the A-Wing has been bouncing up and down the past few days on Amazon.com (http://amzn.to/2zSGqQo) - currently at $22.49 (25% off).

I heard it was as low as $20 at one point this weekend, nice deal for a great vehicle if you still need it (or want more). #ad

Target had them for $17.99 in the StL area.  Nice price for that.

Indeed.  I may scout Target for the police speeder since that thing is dumb looking.  The A-Wing is fantastic for around $20 though, pick it up if you can.
