I was wondering if there were any other boards members here go to in their dubious free time.
For Star Wars chat, I stick to JediDefender and GH.com's BHC (http://www.galactichunter.com/ubbthreads/ubbthreads.php?Cat=). Occasionally I'll visit the Official Site's forum (http://forums.starwars.com/), but only to bump OCB's Ice Cream Maker Guy petition thread (http://forums.starwars.com/thread.jsp?forum=23&thread=66522) (which is officially sanctioned; congratulations Scott!).
As a DC Comics fan, I'm a regular at the DC Direct board (http://newdcboards.warnerbros.com/web/category.jsp?cat=dc+direct). Oddly enough, it's also a great plce to talk about other 6" figures, especially Marvel Legends.
Every once in a while I'll go off on the crappy business tactics Art Asylum practices on their board (http://www.artasylum.com/cgi-bin/ultimatebb.cgi). (I like their Minimates but wish they'd be in the same scale with each other!) It's definitely an R-rated forum, language wise. :o
Aside from CurlTalk (http://bb.naturallycurly.com/cgi-ubb/ultimatebb.cgi) and the Militant Breastfeeding Cult (http://www.militantbreastfeedingcult.com/index_a.html), that's pretty much it for me. How 'bout you?
-
I am a member here and at Rebelscum where I don't post too much (like once) but like to see all of the fighting
-
I hang out over at GH.com, Rebelscum and here for the most part. I'm probally going to leave RS soon though. While it was around I was over at Deathstarplans but it merged into GH. I'm also resigter over at The Jawa/Sandtroopers and SSG.
-
Mostly (95%) just here at JediDefender now for me. I used to be very active at 'Scum, but the place just turned into a zoo after the GH split late last year. I stop by there from time to time to admire the outrageously wild shenanigans that go on over there, but that's about it. I still swing by GH occasionally too, but not like I used to when it first opened up and was a bit more active. Nice guys there though...
-
Whoo boy...besides JD...
I am OCB pretty much everywhere. I started (along with Fatt Bichall) at the old Tomart forums back in 1997 or 1998. I then migrated with a ton of people to SSG and left in the great ISE brigade of 2000 to Collect Star Wars where I stayed until the forced evacuation to Rebelscum. Chris asked me to be on staff last summer so I am now here and at GH and still at Rebelscum...and I joined a lot of Boards last summer to pimp the ICMG petition anyway, my regulars are:
Simpsons Collector Sector (http://pub132.ezboard.com/bthesimpsonscommunity71818)
The BHC (http://www.galactichunter.com/ubbthreads/ubbthreads.php)
Rebelscum (http://forums.rebelscum.com/ubb/ultimatebb.php)
I'll post occaisonally at the SSG and theForce.net forums but only on a whim
And here are all of my ICMG Threads :-*
Theforce.net (http://boards.theforce.net/message.asp?topic=7763978&page=5)
theForce.net #2 (http://boards.theforce.net/message.asp?topic=7475615&start=7492904)
StarWars.com (http://forums.starwars.com/thread.jsp?forum=23&thread=66522)
Rebelscum (http://forums.rebelscum.com/cgi-bin/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic;f=15;t=000356)
Nightly.net (http://www.nightly.net/ubb/ultimatebb.php?ubb=get_topic;f=11;t=001178)
SSG (http://www.sirstevesguide.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=10508)
SCS (http://pub132.ezboard.com/fthesimpsonscommunity71818frm21.showMessage?topicID=544.topic)
And there are more at TheJawa, ArtoosNews, JediChris :P,
-
I was at CSW back in August of 2001 under the guise of "Boba Rocks". Things went sour, it was abd time in my life, then I re-emerged on Rebelscum in February of 2002 under "Dark Hybrid".
Got tired of that and became Jango_Fettish. RS is pretty much on the bottom of the totem pole now, and JD is my new home.
-
I put in about 95% of my time here at JD, but I also partake in a few other forums such as Rebelscum, Galactic Hunter, thejawa and ArtoosNews. I go by "dustrho" in all of the different forums.
-
Im about half and half between here and Rebelscum forums, although I find myself spending less and less time over there. My main interests are other collectibles and props, which tends to keep me at RS. If it wasnt for that, Id probably have left long ago.
I also spent a little time in the MuppetCentral forums, as Im a huge fan of the Muppets! :)
-
I mainly split it up between here and Rebelscum. It got to the point at Scum where I just quit posting. Which is probably a good idea. I just checked back and there is still major squabbling going on. It is entertaining though :)
-
I started (along with Fatt Bichall) at the old Tomart forums back in 1997 or 1998.
That's "Fatty Bitchall" to you, pal.
For Star Wars, I'm here, at 'Scum, and at GH. There's a couple of boards related to the OKC collecting group that I check out, but I'm not too active.
The only other boards I'm really active in are Home Theater Forum (http://www.hometheaterforum.com), and DVD Talk (http://www.dvdtalk.com).
-
I'd say I'm so tired of Rebelscum's staff I only look around these days. I'd say 99% of my time is to JediDefender.com...
-
I float around occassionally to a few different boards, though the only 2 I check regularly are here at Jedidefender.com (of course) and Rebelscum.com
I used to float over to GH.com often, but now it's about once a week... GH is alright, but loads entirely too slow for my taste, and the board has little traffic really...
Scum I read now more than post...
Sometimes things just BEG me to reply to them though, like someone recently posting "Well Star Wars figures are bought by kids more than G.I. Joe, so that's why SW figures have rubbery weapons".
I like Star Wars too, but let's call a spade a spade and realize that Hasbro's just cheap here... Joe's been outperforming the SW license for some time now I believe. It's a shame people just can't admit their favorite toy line maybe isn't dominating the toy industry like they'd like it to though.
Scum's full of posts like that anymore though, and arguments, and fights, and general tedious nuisance junk that really just makes it not worth getting involved sometimes. Thus my migrating over here was not a difficult decision.
I generally don't post that much on forums at all though anymore... No time it seems. Not like I had in the past when I could type out a 3 page relpy to someone being completely foolish in a topic.
Anyway, I also sometimes pop into.......
http://www.gpxd.com/Index.htm
This is Ground Pounder's 21st Century Toys X-Treme Detail website/forum... All forms of small (Under 1:6) scale military toys are discussed there though, even Star Wars (Since it has a military theme). Mostly just XD (and their 32X) though, or A18 (Dragon's line) or BBi's Elite Force 1:18.
Sometimes I run over to http://commandchamber.net/ also... This site is dedicated to the Dark Forces/Jedi Knight/Mysteries of the Sith/ Jedi Outcast series of games, and the editing/modding community that goes with them. You'll find add-on levels and such for your games there... It's predominantly single-player though, as multi-player has a large separate community and SP is grossly overlooked.
If you want the most out of your game though, check it out because there's some GREAT add-on levels to games that have come out... I'd say the better add-ons are VERY superior in overall quality to what Lucasarts themselves put out. And the good ones are like mini-games unto themselves really.
-
I'm a long time member of SSG, but have not posted there in a long time . I'm also a member of rebelscum and galactic hunter. Other than Star Wars I'm also a mod at www.simpsonscollectors.com .
-
Scum I read now more than post...

That was half my reason for leaving 'scum. The other half was you, Jesse.
Every time I read one of those stupid posts that begged to be answered, I'd scroll down to give them a reality check only to realize you'd already beaten me to it. Consistently. ;)
I thought, "Well, clearly my expertise is needed elsewhere. Jesse's got these kids covered. I guess I'll mosey on..." My time is at more of a premium now than when I started, too, though. But I know what you mean about the newbie situation over there. Part of me wanted to stay and enlighten the masses, but I just didn't have the time or the ambition.
Glad to see you here, Jesse. And don't worry, I'm not going anywhere this time. 8)
-
Well, I'm only registered at 3 sites. Here, RS and GH. I'll still check and read the other forums but here is the only one I actively post at.
-
Well you can guess where I am most of the time, hehe
But I do like to come here. RS is just a ..... now so I won't post there again. I also hang out at Snowtroopers, being as I AM CANADIAN !! and stay indoors so I won't catch Sars, stay inside again so I won't get bit by a Mosquito
and get West Nile Virus and oh become a Vegetarian because I can't eat Beef because all our Cows have going Mad, LOL.........other than that , ramble, ramble,
ramble...groan.. :P
-
Yep, pretty much the same as Bob. Snowtroopers, GH the odd time, RS is so :-X.
Another site I go to is the Space: 1999 Net Forums (http://www.space1999.net/forum/index.php?s=27c087df9d8d13bf5e1c3d3eda5a6b7d). Its new & slow but it is the other stuff I collect.
That & eBay. ;D
-
I still post in the "props" forum at RS and I do pop in to GH a few times a week just to see what's going on, I've always liked it there since so many of the members are the ones from CSW days.
I do find myself coming here now on a regular basis and I think I have found a new home.
As for non-star wars forums, I'm a regular at LOTR (http://www.lordoftheringsguide.com/forums/) which is really starting to grow, like this one is.
Oh, and it's nice to the see the "Pink Elephant" dancing here too!! ;)
-
I pretty much move around between here,RS,GH,ArtoosNews,Bothanspy and SSG on occassion.I personally like to read what different groups of people are saying about the same topics, which widely varies alot more than I would of thought possible.Plus the change in different topics is refreshing. :P
Other than that I am also active on a forum dedicated to horror films and also post at a general anything goes type forum just for the laughs. ;D
-
I visit a whole lot!
I visit Jediforce (http://http://www.jedidefender.net/hosted/coleman/YaBB.cgi) the most. ;)
But I post on the following list from time to time.
Jedidefender.com
Rebelscum.vom
JK2files.com
PCgamemods.com
JediknightII.net
But that's about it, I'm thinking about joining theforce.net forums if Jediforce doesn't get a Stawars RPG. ;)
-
Here and GH are really the only ones I post at, but I do browse a ton of other sites:
-RS for their buy / trade section
-fbtb (http://pub186.ezboard.com/bthefbtbcommunity) for SW Legos
-devils due (http://www.devilsdue.net/forums/) for GIJoe
-dvdtalk (http://www.dvdtalk.com/forum/index.php) and home theater (http://www.hometheaterforum.com/htforum/index.php) for dvds
-Chamber of Secrets (http://www.cosforums.com/a/) for Harry Potter
-comic book resources (http://forums.comicbookresources.com/) for comic books
As you can see, I have a wide variety of interests ;D
-
Ah, what the heck, I'll join the bandwagon. I frequently visit:
For my SW needs:
-Here
-Rebelscum
-JediForce
-GH
LOTR Discussion:
-The Barrowdowns (http://www.barrowdowns.com)
Misc.:
-JediForce
-GSArchives (http://www.gsarchives.net/forums)
-TehSuparSecret (http://www.tehsuparsecret.com/forum)
...Oh, and if you're thinking of visiting the last two, beware of some foul language and such. ;D
-
As most of you know, I hang out most of the time at Rebelscum. Sometimes I stop by GH, and Simspons Collector Sector. I also belong to the Seattle Star Wars fan chapter....but our boards are down right now due to hacking (if you can believe that).
I decided to join this place today after Rebelscum banned yet another member I enjoy talking with. It seems more and more people are heading to this side of the fence, and so shall I.
-
Besides here, I post at Rebelscum, and the 7th House forums (Danzig site). I used to post at the Las Vegas Advisor boards, but the annual fee was starting to annoy me, so I begged off this year.
-
Well most of my time is spent here at defender but I also go to a few other boards the star wars related sites I check out are
rebelscum maybe once or twice a week I look at the FS trade lists
the-holocron a fun plce but not toy related
501st garrison
non sw
RPM world fun drag racing site.
-
Well, I'm at several boards. I've got user-id's a few. Mostly, I'm known as Nicklab, but with a few exceptions at certain boards.
-here, of course
-Rebelscum
-BHC
-Jawa-Sandtroopers
-Star Wars.com
-SSG ( I think I posted there all of one time. ICK! I don't like it there! )
-The Spawn.com forums
-and my absolute favorite, a local collecting club that I help run (sorry, local is close to my heart)
-
That's funny MisterPL because there were a couple times you'd said something in reply to a bad post, and I pretty much just laughed out loud after reading it.
All I could say then was "Can't improve on perfection" so I walked away...
Some of those topics I just can't get involved in. Namely the political topics. There's so many lies, half-truths, stretching of the truth, and blatantly stupid things being said in those that I just ignore them.
Those are the types of threads that were better left untouched... I'd have been kicked out long ago.
So who got banned from Scum, Josheee? That's funny... People who SHOULD be banned don't get it, then some obscure person gets the permanent boot.
I've seen people who've been registered as long as I have, who do nothing but stir up trouble in every post they make, yet they are still allowed to be there. Go figure.
Like I said, I float by just to read up... Sometimes post, but even that I've changed somewhat. I did post in the "Little Known Facts" thread in regards to some misinformation about D-Day... Only because I find the correct answer to things in our history as being somewhat important.
And of course I'm always up for a good "Explain this..." debate in the classic trilogy forum. :)
-
As to who got banned, it was good ol' Jango Fettish. He posted a rather innapropriate edit to the Rebelscum logo after they decided to ban the trade or sale of anything non-Star Wars related over there.
His whole story is posted in the feedback section of this site as well.
This new rule Sucks for me though. I had made some good Simpsons for Star Wars trades in the Classifieds and Trading section.
Oh well....Move along, move along.
-
JF you got banned?
hahahahahahaha :)
Sorry, I had to laugh... Hey, it's funny you spoke your mind on it in one form or another though... I personally never dealt with the trader/sale forums over there so I didn't know. I did hear about the various people complaining about a "No non-SW items" rule though. And I do think that's a bogus rule...
I could see if it were people selling ONLY non SW stuff, or were regularly offering up various non-SW things with very little SW stuff ever. It needed monitoring...
Guess RS decided they'd monitor it perminantly by just axing it all together... Oh well. :-\
-
Well for me it's here. I post at RS every once in awhile but it's mainly in the customizing section.
-
well i mostly posted at scum but moving buissness over here now, think ill check in there every once in a while, still a lot of friends there that need encouraging over here ;D
posted once at gh.com and it was totally ignored so never go there anymore plus it has little or no traffic.
i was wondering people being banned was mentioned in this post, who were they? and what did they do? cant really talk about it over there or ill get banned ;D
cheers barfly
-
Check a few posts back barfly. It was Jango Fettish because of that banner he created there. I think that was it though.
As for me, I had been a lurker at RS for quite a while, probably over a year. I enjoyed browsing the posts and reading people's thoughts on stuff, but never actually registered and posted over there. I think that was most likely due to me fearing for my life if I said something that someone disagreed with there. Seems like a lot of fighting and personal attacks, and very little respect for their fellow members over there. I never really wanted to subject myself to that potentially happening to me.
I saw in a few cool posts the JD links in some sigs over there, followed them here, and noticed a totally different atmosphere. Fun (and civil) forums here, and I feel like I can finally participate too! 8)
I've browsed a couple other SW forums from time to time, but nothing really caught my eye or held my attention. So this is pretty much the only place that I hang my hat!
-
Jedidefender
GH
RS (tragic, really)
Snowtroopers.ca eh?
Simpsonscollectorsector - but not a whole lot, just when I need to
McFarlane.com - the truly dark side
and a couple of science related sites, my other passion. If you need to find me, I'm always Morgbug. ;D
-
I post at
The SCS
Spawn.com
SportsPicksArena
RS
Ernies House of Whoop Ass
and now here
-
SLC, you have the same name at sportspicksarena and spawn? I'm not there all that much, but I don't remember seeing the same username. What McFarlane do you collect? There's a thread around here somewhere...
-
Only RS.
I’m trying to give it up (I know it’s bad for me), but the traffic there is so high that you get responses quite quickly and the large number of European members means that there’s lots of people in my time zone.
The downside is that it seems to attract more than it’s fair share of nasties.
-
I used to haunt RS quite a bit, but for many of the reasons already stated here, I don't much anymore. Let's just say I'm oh so glad I found this place.
My main other haunts would be:
www.thewriter.net
www.bufffybb.net
I also lurk around GH, TheForce.Net, www.lordoftheringsguide.net, the Simpon's Collector Sector, some others.
-

I use the screenname BlakChamber for Spawn and SPA. I collect the NHL sportspicks, and other assorted McFarlane figures that catch my eye, like the matrix ones
-
I post at
Ernies House of Whoop Ass
What is your username over there? I like the forums for the laughs.Only took me 3 days to get banned. ;D

LOL...I'm Cosmo over there. I don't post a whole lot though
-
I'm on austinfanforce.org as Hung Solow
I'm wookieinmypocket on eBay.
I'm the_spice_must_flow on dreamersofdune.com
Y'all should check out dreamersofdune.com. They have a Dune vs. Star Wars thread.
