The Vintage Collection / Re: Recent Vintage Collection Purchases
« on: August 5, 2012, 05:21 PM »
Didn't buy it, but I saw a couple of the Vintage box KMart exclusive B-Wings at TJ Maxx.  I think they were $20.  I hadn't seen that before in Marshalls/TJ Maxx.  So if anyone missed this on clearance at KMart, might want to look for it at the closeout stores.

Watto's Junk Yard / Re: Your Opinions of George Lucas

I saw Ppl v GL the other day on Netflix also.  I loved the clips of fan films they included and made sure that there was far more love than hate.

Two questions:
I can't recall any changes to Empire Strikes Back that caused any kind of fan backlash.  Certainly nothing like Docking Bay Jabba, Han Shooting 2nd, Disco/Jazz Jabba's palace remix, new Ewok celebration song...  Were there any bad additions to Empire?

Did the movie end with the conclusion that if George Lucas released the original Theatrical versions of episodes IV, V & VI on Blu Ray the fans would be satisfied?

Might be a bit late, but my TRU was doing (sign said friday & saturday) a buy two get one free on Star Wars, GI Joe, Avengers & (something I can't recall..), 3 3/4" action figures.  I could only find two figures I could convince myself were worthwhile, so I passed, but someone else might think this is worthwhile enough to go shopping tonight...

....  I sent a note to the customer service folks at Hasbro, hopefully they'll be able to offer some sort of solution, which will probbaly be "Ship it to us and we'll send you an equivalent item".

I've bought a dozen or so Star Wars and GI Joe vehicles in the last year or two, and they've all been complete up to now, so I can't complain too loud, just frustrated today....

I got my replacement in the mail yesterday.  It was the same vehicle I sent in!  Whoo hoo!!  Thank you Hasbro and thanks guys for the stowage tips.  I think I went a little overboard with the stickers though.  It looks a bit like someone who got just one too many tattoos.

. Considering your tank can't even be assembled, I would recommend sending an email to Hasbro asking if they have a replacement ring piece or even the whole chassis. Worst case scenario is they offer you a replacement vehicle if you send yours in.

Ahh, I didn't realize that's what the backpacks were for, and I didn't get what to do with the mines at all..  :-[

I actually did send a note to Hasbro, but their response team only works weekdays, which just means I had a day and a half to grump about it.  I'm thinking they'll somehow try to arrange a replacement piece, or offer to replace the whole toy if I send it in.  From what I've seen they tend to be responsive to this type of mistake.

Not a huge buyer of GI Joe (or SW lately), but I just got the Crimson HISS tank, and I'm kind of annoyed.  The tank is cool looking and seems like it'd be a fun toy, but Hasbro messed up 3 times with mine.  First the didn't include the "front weapon" piece in the box.  Second there are two backpacks for the driver (should be only one).  But I could kind of deal with those two, the last ruins the toy.  The tank comes in two pieces, a body and a chassis that connects to the treads.  On the top of the chassis is supposed to be a ring that the body attaches to.  Except the ring wasn't in the box either.  So I have a very cool, aggresive looking set of tank treads, and a tank body, that is partially disarmed.  I would've just put it back in the box and taken it back to Walmart, but the connection of the treads to the chassis seems permanent, so it won't fit back in the box.  I sent a note to the customer service folks at Hasbro, hopefully they'll be able to offer some sort of solution, which will probbaly be "Ship it to us and we'll send you an equivalent item".

I stopped at Target today and the AT-AT Driver, Dengar, Imp Officer set that was on clearance for $10 last week had no sticker and scanned at $24.99. ???  They still had some of the same clearance items from last week, still at their clearance price.  So will new three packs be out very soon?

My gripe is sort of Hurricane related, and perhaps is too state specific...  Anyway, in NY, when a traffic light is out the law says you're supposed to treat it like its a stop sign.  Its a pretty simple concept, and kind of just harkens back to before there were stop lights; everyone is careful when they come to an intersection so they don't get plowed into by the idiot coming the other way, right?

Either that or I've been inventing state laws again, because I was the only one stopping on the way to work on Monday..

The Vintage Collection / Re: The Old Republic... The Figures

Is that Gunslinger/Han character Zeerid from the Deception book?  I'm not done with the book yet but there were bits in the clip that reminded of him.  Based on Malgus' appearance this clip is from before the book, and before the other trailers.  Also, the Twilek that he checks out in the hallway, is that Malgus' girlfriend/servant?

Not sure I'll get into the game, but fantastic video.

The AT-ST is very fun!  The Vader figure is frankly a bit unnecessary, but a cool set none-the-less.  Too bad its no longer officially mine "Not Daddy's, its for Jack!", my possessive nearly five year old informed me.... ;D

Finally found the refugee Padme at local KM.  Sure it was roughly TRU prices, but its the first figure I've wanted to buy in about a month and a half, so I was willing to pony up the extra buck.

I was at WM last night and the pegs were packed (with massive helmet clones and Woof).  Of the 60 TVC figures they had on the pegs 20 were Woof, about 15 were the ROTS clone, they had about 15 Sandtroopers, 5 Anakins and then a handful of Ackbar and Endor Rebels.

So I was in the same Walmart I mentioned in the above post from March, and they had 19 Woof, so apparently it'll only take another 40ish months for them to work through this backlog of Woofs :)  I know its just a freak thing about this store (or someone bought up Woof/Clonetroopers/Sandtroopers and dumped them all at Walmart), but its funny to see this particular backlog.

Collect All 92! / Re: Gamorrean Guard

The Gamorrean is a great figure, too bad I've only seen him exactly once!  I agree with others that this is one of Hasbro's best figures ever.  Just fantastic.  Just hoping I can find him in one of the repack assortments.
