The Wookiee Arcade / Re: Battlefront (PS2)
« on: September 24, 2004, 02:00 AM »
I played the X-Box Demo...  The strategy aspect is limited to this game Bob, you're not just missing that, and that's about what I expected...  However.

Part of the strategy is the characters you choose as you play the game...  But also, I noticed on Endor the various paths and choices I could take.  For instance I had the option of run & gun to try and just outkill my opponent...  The other option's finding out what stationary weapons are available, which is how I actually won the level...  I took stationary guns and just blew the bejesus out of the starting point for the Imperials.  They had no chance.

So there's strategy, but this ain't no Socom.  It's a direct copy of Battlefield 1942, which while fun I was disappoitned in it when there's games out at the same time in the WW2 genre that did use some teamwork and such, even with AI comrades.

Call of Duty would be the perfect example of such a game...  Lotsa teamworking to win objectives, but also your personal achievement is important.

Battlefront's kinda fun, but it's what I was expecting so I'm debating still about getting this one for PC now.  I do enjoy playing that demo on the DVD though.

Bah!  Forget him...  :)

Seriously though, it's kinda cool so I think he's neat looking.

To me, this 2nd wave's suffering mostly because I can name a couple kitbashes that would've blown away the Ponda Baba.  A 2nd Duros would have been simple as pie, and unfortunately they just didn't go for it.  :(  Seriously though, other options were available...  A Cantina Patron that is human even.  A Garouf Lafoe kitbash would've rocked, if they could've done it at minimal effort.

Oh well...  The Blue Snag's the reason to get the set, kinda like Ktik is the reason to get #1.  However I think the Wuher's hand is an improvement, and Evazan's legs (while awkward and skinny) are an improvement as well.

I guess I'm a girly girl- yep, I have spent money on pedicures and highlights instead of action figures at times, and my toenails are bright pink....

Wait, don't leave...  Seriously, I know I just quoted SW to you but don't leave.

What was previously the eye was directly over us on Friday.

I forget the actual timeline involved with the storm now, like when it made landfall.  Its center went basically straight up north after hitting the mainland U.S. though around the Florida Panhandle, and bam, right over top of us Friday.

All I can say is, however the thing's coming back, if it's coming back...  I'm taking the day off school.  Funk Dat.

Hmmm.  Interesting.

An odd kitbash, but it shows some creativity.  It's incredible how better customizers the public are though.  :)

I have had plans for a blue snag modern style on the backburner for a while...  Mine involved a lotta casting and recasting bits and pieces to cobble together an articulated, but true to the vintage figure, which combined Zutton's outfit, Takeel's head, and a cast of some poseable legs with casted vintage blue snag boots because they're so funky and retro that nothing in the line compares to them.

It's a neat gesture from Hasbro...  They get the A for the general effort and idea they'd even do this.  Can't say the execution is dazzling, but, whatcha gonna do?

I think Takeel's head, or a cast of a vintage one's head (red or blue, they're the same), would've looked cooler, but that's me.

How'd you get it early Jared?  These aren't out yet are they?

And by the way, Hurricane Ivan, from what I could tell, was wearing a blue shirt, grey pants, black boots, and a white helmet...

And guess what?  He sucked.

Well, here's the deal...  I didn't go into a TON of depth there, but my father basically pulled up beside me in the school lot (the towtruck guy just had passed me to go to a lower level lot), and I stepped out of the car.  Baring in mind I have a TON of school books, etc., to remember to pull from the car, and at that exact moment I'm on the phone too with my mother asking her when dad had left and such because I didn't know where he was.  School's a 1 hour drive from my place, so from 11 a.m. to 3:20 he was on the road...  I guess they'd gotten lost though, but anyway...

So I step out, my dad winds his window down and starts yelling and screaming at me because A) he and the tow dude got lost, and B) he told me to get in HIS car.  Now, this is stupid because I'd simply have to get out and move mine to align it with the towtruck anyway, plus he's not going in his car home, I was taking it, so he should've just sat there while me and the tow dude got my car hooked up to the truck.

So anyway, my old man bitched me out over nothing (nothing that's my fault), and made me "hurry" to get out of my car to basically do nothing but stand in the rain till the tow dude got back, which he was on his way then.

So that's the cause/effect...  He bitched up a storm, hurried me, and I forgot my car charger because it's in my glove box and such...  I didn't have time to think of what I "need", but ya know right when we're all leaving (tow dude with my old man and my car, and me behind them in my old man's car), I thought of what it was I was missing...  My charger, but at that point they'd already run a stoplight that had turned and were on their way the opposite direction of where I was going.

And to this day I'm still irked tremendously over that because it's typical Father BS...  At least in my family anyway, where father's rant and yell.  :)

No booty either!

I fell asleep, and she had work the next day anyway.  Such is life...  All in good time though.  I was so out of it by midnight that night when we got home anyway.  My performance would've lacked that certain flare I'd imagine.    :P

I read the title of this, and maybe I'm just a perv but immediately thoughts of a personal moment with your significant other came to mind...

Namely for me a kitchen counter that wasn't utilized for dicing up vegies one time.

Just something about this one's title struck me REAL funny Dave.

Got mine at Wal-Mart for $38 and change.

Not bad I guess...  I was sorta dreading $50 for it to tell you the truth.  :)

Star Wars Action Figures / Re: My latest custom project
« on: September 23, 2004, 01:15 AM »
Very neat Dave...  I've got similar plans set for some things when I start redoing a room here, but if I'm gonna have to move I may just wait on all this.

That must've taken some time to organize so it fit right I'd think.

Definitely cool.  Be neat if there was a Simpson's Mark Hammill for Homer to lug around.  :)

Clone Wars '03-'05 / Re: Animated Wave 3 (and beyond)?
« on: September 23, 2004, 01:12 AM »
The ARC's definitely animated...  I wish they'd gone al out with the non-animated one like this.  The holsters rock I think.  That's a figure I'd take a SA version of...

Unfortunately, the CW line appears to be all animated, which while they're neat, they're not my cup of tea.  I like the classic looking figures though, and think it was a great EU line.  Even little Frito Bandito Yoda.

Flooding retail's a REALLY nice thought on the ROTJ wave.  I'd love some of that...  To see a sea of Fett's, Stormtroopers, Chewie's, and yeah R2...

Inevitably, far more R2.

Still, those are easily 3 of the best figures ever from Hasbro, even at $10 a pop.  Figures that should see re-release for the duration of the modern line.

30th Anniversary Collection / Re: Hoth Han Revisited
« on: September 23, 2004, 01:06 AM »
Hoth Han doesn't have a decent figure to this day...  That's my only gripe, ever.  I think it's a brown coat though, but I always did.  The photos from the DVD do tend to influence that thought even more IMO though.
