Hey Rune,

Welcome to Jedi Defender...  Any motivation for stopping by the site or just moseying on in?  Anything you want to give is up to you but a lot of folks go by first names around here.  It's a good group to make good friends in, so you're welcome to join in the fun.  I'm Jesse, as you could've guessed. :)

Check out the various sections of the forums, see what you like and join right in...  Feel free to ask any questions you may have too, one of the staff's usually around.

Take it easy man,

JJ

I've actually got a couple things I'm donating to the PSWCS Toy Drive this year.  I didn't last year because, well, I forgot, but this year I'm just leaving the stuff in my car so it'll be there Saturday when I'm at the toy show.

Even though it's some POTF2 figures mostly I think it'll maybe make some kid happy...  I hope that's the case anyway.

I would do that too, but Bly has a lot more yellow markings on his armor than his troops, plus the difference in pauldron and belt color. And those thingies on his pauldron stap, um...thing.

Given the diversity in the pauldrons and things of Bly's grunts, I've suspended disbelief about the decoes being too similar to bly's and just accept them as troops.  I figure that variance among the colors/patterns would've been likely.

Bly seems to stand out in the crowd actually anyway just by his visor.  I'm wondering what gun he sported in the movie though, I forget and I'm too lazy to bust out my DVD.  I want him lugging the right Jedi Cleanser for any set-up of course. :)

I could say the same thing, however we haven't made a trade yet for the goalie and vet defenseman we oh so desperately need right now...

Seems like maybe it just sucks to bleed black and gold this year? :)

Revenge of the Sith / Re: What figures are hard to find now?
« on: November 30, 2005, 05:15 AM »
There's a lot of ROTS that's not common on the pegs, and there's quite a bit that never was.  Some of it was here in abundance at one point but the line just sold so well it moved fast.

A lot of the 4/2 release items sat for the longest time...  Things like Chewbacca, Tarfful, Col. 2 Jedi, Col. 1 characters like Obi/Ani/Yoda...  Then the film came and those are all but gone.  I saw a brief resurgence of Chewie but he's gone now too (I'm holding one for a guy I know wants it for his son).

Figures like Mustafar Duel Ani/Obi have sold well and I haven't seen either now for a while.  the other Ani and Obi sold somewhat ok, though Obi (the kicking one) is fairly common here now.  Anakin still moves.

Pittsburgh is, as far as I know now, literally out of Lava Anakins.  A buddy got me the last one at his Target, thankfully, because I waited on those but then all of a sudden Anakin sold out...  Obi's are usually 2 or 3 at a store and that's it.  I never would have thought those would have moved.

Clone Commanders come and go...  All 3 paintjobs sell out, and I can't say they've sat at all.  I'm surprised considering how often I'd seen them at stores over the last 2 months or so, but then these same stores I'd visit a week later, or even just a couple days, and what I saw wasn't there any longer.

Clones (#6) are non-existant...  I never saw a Shocktrooper on pegs, not once, and that pisses me off.  I'd have built a hefty army but instead I'm settling for a squad.  Black Pilots barely surfaced here as well however I did find one here, or one there...  Never more than one though at any point.

SA Clones are also drying up around here as I figured they would.  Heavy shipping over the last few months filled the pegs but now I see at most 6, usually less though, at any given store.  AT-RT Drivers and Clone Pilots are the same, and are becoming more scarce.

Any of the final 12 are scarce, though I'd say Wookiee Commando and Gree are semi-easier to find.  I see them regularly, but not in abundance.  Just a random couple hanging around here and there.  All the others though are pretty much a pain to find anywhere, and of course the Wookiee Gunner, 501st, and Holo figures are the biggest pains to find out of any of them.

Short of TRU I don't see the Collection 2 Jedi much at all...  Agen Kolar, Ki-Adi Mundi, and Plo Koon have become 3 fairly hot figures actually.  Tack onto that C-3PO, Count Dooku, and Padme as well which I haven't seen any of those save for a 3PO that surfaced at KM during Black Friday.

In Pittsburgh the Polis Massaan and Med Droid were never all that common either.

The pegwarmers here are the usual suspects once again it seems, with Palpatines, Bail's, Neimoidians and the like being easy to find...

ROTS has been such a weird line though where one week something's impossible to find, next week it's not, then a week after that it's impossible to find again.  There's some stuff that's definitely been a pain for the majority around the country though, like the Shocktroopers, "final 5", and such...  The rest seems to be very regional as to what was hard to find and what wasn't.

That would explain why all those figs were there along side the twins when I found them.  R4, though.  You'd think in a case like that they'd throw a 501st in or something.

You/I...  People with common sense in general, but this is Hasbro so they're gonna push Ki-Adi Mundi out there! :)  Not that he's a bad figure but I saw a number of him at TRU just the other day...  KM had a couple too.

Shocktroopers and 501st Clones just didn't seem like a logical move I guess...  to Hasbro anyway.

The Prequel Trilogy / Re: Who was "Captain Kagi"?
« on: November 30, 2005, 04:58 AM »
I thought the Shocks were listed as being the 41st in the Insider issue that supposedly cleared up Clones but didn't really clear up much of anything and seemed mostly contrived crap.

I could very well be wrong though, the only legion/group # I've been able to keep straight was the 501st.

I don't get Palpy taking the shocks with him...  I figure he probably had a mix of his personal guards and the shocks since they appeared to be handy dandy at the time...  Why I don't know, but they were hangin' around to check out the Senate for him so who knows if they're his or not.

I figure there's an elaborate military beyond the Clones though so I really believe Kagi is, probably, Palpatine's shuttle pilot...  Why not, ya know?  As a matter of fact I found a picture of Kagi...

If that hypothetical situation was toys over your partner because like if you didn't give up the toys she'd die...  Yeah I'd give them up of course, however if it was her saying "You can have me or the toys, but I can't stand your hobby anymore" she can kiss the tip of my weenie because that's a big fat crock of poodoo for women to tell you what to do (or husbands in the reversal, of course).  Besides showing a controlling nature it is highly disrespectful and shows absolutely no actual love...

Now, the exception to the rule is if your hobby is detrimental to existance...  IE: You go into debt (or debt you're unable to control), you spend grocery money on toys, you freak out on her because you're mad about the Rebel Fleet Trooper sucking...  Not that I'm saying that could happen even, just bringing it up.   :-X  ;)

But yeah if it was just me buying my crap as usual and she just said one day she's sick of me doing toy runs and wants me to quit or she's leaving me then I'd tell her to pound pavement.  I've found plenty of women who liked my hobby in the past, and I'm sure I'd find plenty in the future.

Not that my current gf would do that, she's always said what I do is better than crack...  I don't know to compare, but I'd think it's at least a step below.

Well, welcome aboard DarkDestiny :)

Actually as was mentioned I don't think you'd have garnered the response here you did there, however you would have gotten a warning so I'll just repeat that so it's known...  Consider the joke along the lines of making an off-color remark about the opposite sex or some such, and that's that.  You're at a new place, you're not going to pay for sins elsewhere over here so starting a-new is the best way to look at things now that you're here.

I think you'll find there's less of the kiddies starting topics like that over here to reply to in the first place. :)

And for those saying "what if the owner didn't know and actually gave him chocoloate"...are you kidding?  Anyone that doesn't know that dogs can't eat chocolate shouldn't own a ******* dog.

Have ya been in Wuher's lately John?  ;D  j/k

Seriously though, I agree the kid seeking dog help was either lying and just wanted to make up something to talk about, or he was an idiot...  or both.

But I seriously, and I mean this in all honesty, think there's people there that are dumb enough to feed a dog chocolate based on a post they read there.  Either just to see what the effect is that caused all the hooplah, or because they're that stupid.  Never underestimate people's ability to underwhelm you at any turn.

Given the post in the first place, I think it was a distinct threat that he could've fed the dog chocolate.

Had DD done that here I think he'd likely have been warned/talked to privately and all points would have been driven home pretty hard, but at the same time I love animals...  My pets mean the world to me, and I didn't care for the comment said in jest or otherwise, but that's just my take on things.

His banning at Scum, IMO, is more out of pressure from the crowd than out of legitimate disgust at what the guy said...  I mean, I see people blatantly calling one another names over at that site almost every time I browse through it and nothing is ever done...  It seems to me that unless you either are trashing RS and its staff, calling RS on its BS, or if you have got the masses against you totally in a Simpson-esque mob/riot scenario, you really can't get banned at Scum for much of anything.  You have to really be on one of the staff's ****list or it just doesn't happen generally.  This time it seemed that so many people cried out in anger at once that finally someone stepped in just to make everyone happy.

At the same time mass mudslinging takes place in virtually every sector of the forums without even an edit or a thread lock...  Unless the thread was a duplicate of one that is on page 73 or some ****.

Watto's Junk Yard / Re: Buying a New Computer?
« on: November 29, 2005, 07:09 PM »
It ran on the Daily Show last night Name, but I'm not sure where it was exactly.  I think the Colbert Report ran it too in their lead story...

Basically it isjust a news person watching as the doors opened at one Wal-Mart.  The Stampede was comical and disturbing.  One woman fell and her wig fell off.  She just laid there (the full footage from this had an interview with this woman but that was cut off from the CC shows last night.  I saw the full story on my local NBC station the night of Black Friday), and she admitted she just didn't get up...  She was moving, she put her wig back on, so I don't think she was hurt...  She just laid there and people were running like mad to whatever the big deal was at Wal-Mart.

I don't know but somehow I imagine a certain site having to get their greedy fingers in on it.   :-X :-*

Yeah though Leia was on the hunt for Gen. Kenobi so I assumed she was in on Obi-Wan's existance...  Dunno about Bail's wife but probably her too if she was still alive.  She'd probably wonder where the hell that kid came from and all that so I just imagine her knowing too...

It's kind of sad but Padme's own parents wouldn't know the children were born and stuff.  Their grandkids they'd never know.  That's sort of ******, actually.
