Looks like its about time to buy another pistol and Ar15.

I read this somewhere, "The hardest part of the zombie apocalypse will be pretending I'm not excited."

^^I've been stoked about the Falling Skies return.  I don't generally watch a lot of TV, but that is a show I do dedicate myself to putting on the DVR and then watching before bed.  I really enjoyed the season premiere, but I felt like their were commercials every 5-7 minutes.  It drove me crazy.

On another note, I didn't catch the show Jericho when it was on network TV.  I kind of stumbled across it on Netflix and in the span of a couple of weeks watched the entire series.  I'm really surprised CBS killed off that show.  I can see where it only appealed to a certain audience, but I was really impressed with the show.  The story line was fantastic and although some of the acting was subpar, the scripts were good and they seemed to accelerate the story and didn't drag along too much with stuff that wasn't important to the plot.  I can't say enough how much I loved watching that series.  I'm not a comic book reader, but I'll order the comics just so I can keep going on what happened after season 2 ended.

Watto's Junk Yard / Gotta have ACL surgery for my dog
« on: May 17, 2012, 03:26 PM »
My buddy (and my daughter's best friend) tore her ACL Tuesday night (degenerative condition).  So, I have to go see a surgeon on Monday to get the options and prices for her.  She's a six year old lab/pitt mix.  If she were older and not very active, I'd probably just bypass the days and keep her comfy.  But poor dog is in a lot of pain and it kills me to see her this way.  I'm a softy where my dog is concerned.

I know there are several types of surgeries and most of them are very successful.  If you guys have had this issue, what was your experience, type of surgery, and cost?  I'm considering the ESLT procedure as it's the lowest cost and my vet said it should be pretty good for my dog.  I used to take her jogging with me, but in the past year or so, she's been primarily a fetch the ball dog and I haven't taken her on runs with me.

Funny read to say the least.  I'm not surprised at all, especially considering who wrote it.

For saying that, their spies will probably see this and ban me...

I'd love to read that PM.

I used to keep a couple where they got onto me about having a UK forum in signature.

Watto's Junk Yard / Re: A thread about concerts.

I'm all set to see:

  • KISS / Motley Crue

I'm trying to talk a buddy into going to this one in August.  He's not a fan of KISS.  I said I'm not much of one, but want to see their stage show.  I'm betting it would be a wild concert with Motley Crue.  He and I went to see the Crue last summer and it was freakin' awesome.

I asked my wife and barely got the question out before she told me "hell no."

That footage was incredible.

Where exactly did the tornado(es) pass through?

One passed through Arlington and another through Lancaster and from what I've gathered died out around Ih45.  The storm kept producing funnels and we had our kids out of the portables at school and all buttoned up in the building until well after the dismissal time.  There was one funnel near Town East Mall here in Mesquite and over near one of the high schools there was some pretty good wind damage.  I think this funnel eventually made it to Forney and really messed some stuff up out there.

I'm sure there are more.  Channel 8 here reported something like 15 touchdowns, but that number was unconfirmed as of last night.

Dude, sorry to hear about that.

So my dog has a habit of jumping the fence if she doesn't get to come back in the house when SHE wants to. I look out back to see where she is and there is nothing in sight. I head out the garage door to get in the Jeep and go find her.

She offered to drive.

Apparently getting in is easier than getting out.

I somewhat enjoyed Terra Nova, but the acting was total crap.  The storyline was kind of all over the place, but it had a lot of potential. Sometimes I enjoy watching a show that doesn't require me to think an this was perfect.

What killed me was a few years ago when ABC pulled Flash Forward and NBC pulled Life.  I loved those shows.

Thought the fact that Darrell stepped up to put Dale out of his misery made a powerful statement that he was back in with the group.

Agreed.  I also wonder if Darrell knows that Rick has a "problem" killing when he's not directly threatened.  Consider it the cop in him.  I wonder if Darrell was telling Rick in a roundabout way that he was okay with taking on the burden of putting Dale out of his misery.  I don't recall Darrell being particularly angry with Rick for not popping Randal when his son showed up.  Maybe he wants Rick to be a good example of a dad because he didn't have one.

This sucks something terrible.

I can remember as a kid digging through magazines with Star Wars articles and his artwork was always predominantly featured.  That's one of the things I think about when I think of Star Wars.

I caught part of the movie once and all I can say was WTF???!!!!  Granted, I came in during the last 20 or 30 minutes of the movie, but it just seemed to me it might be something better viewed during an acid trip.  I'm not going to say if I liked it or not, simply because I didn't see the entire thing and therefore didn't have a good frame of reference for the why the movie seemed so odd.

I found it on Youtube: The Monkees: Head

I think I remember lamps being on, so that would lend itself to operating on a generator.
