Come on man, we got our "all out war" last season...and it wasn't much of a war at all.

Agreed though, we can't be applying real world logic to zombies.

Yeah, not a bad episode.

I don't really feel anything one way or another over the shocking part though.  I guess we'll see how that plays out.

There is a good part of me that wants to pick up TWD Compendium 2 and 3 and start reading to see what the deal is with the new group.

Modern Classifieds / FS: Custom painted OTC Millenium Falcon
« on: November 19, 2018, 10:32 PM »
I posted how I did the work over in the customs thread, so if you're interested go over there and take a look.  I've gotten what I wanted from this, so I'd like to get it moved to an appreciative fan.  I'm asking $75 OBO plus shipping.  I'm motivated to sell, so if you're interested, feel free to make an offer as long as it isn't a lowball.

Star Wars Ships and Vehicles / Custom painted OTC Millenium Falcon

I've been wanting to do this for a while.  I couldn't bring myself to spend the cash for a BMF repaint, so I initially planned to get a POTF2 version and work from there.  Well, the VTC came up for a good price and I picked it up, right after I had purchased a POTF2 that needed a few parts.  So I stripped the POTF2 of what I needed and put them in place.  Then I went to work.

Simply put, all I did was paint.  I masked and then primed the entire ship in white.  Then I sprayed two coats of white to the ship.  After that, I painted the different hull plates different colors.  After that, I went to work on the various pipes and painted several of them.  Then it was off to paint all the various access points.  Following each access point, I would run thinner all over the area, and then wipe it down with a cloth.  This would allow the colors to thin and run.  Then I went with a thinner based black wash in which I took a brush that had been dabbed in black, then ran the brush all over a section of the hull.  Then I'd quickly wipe that down in a certain direction, and then put my brush in thinner and rub the thinner everywhere, and again, use the cloth to smear it.  After that I added various coolant drips and use the wipe technique for that.  The last part of the hull was to get some a window screen repair kit, and cut out six discs and put them on the vents at the rear.  Then I used the smear technique again and that was the end of the outer hull.

Inside, all I did was mask everything off, and then paint with a gunmetal color.  Then I used a dry silver brush to add some weather to the floor.  I did this in the cargo area and the cockpit.  Then I painted the main gun and the radar dish, using the same base color and then black wash.  The last step was spraying a dull coat to seal the colors.  Overall, I'm pretty happy with the project.  There are some things I would do differently next time, and would probably be a little more conservative with the black wash.  So I'm claiming this is the darker looking MF from ESB.

Also, I've gotten what I wanted from this, so I'd like to get it moved to an appreciative fan.  I'm asking $75 OBO plus shipping.  I'm motivated to sell, so if you're interested, feel free to make an offer as long as it isn't a lowball.

Last night's episode...meh...

It felt very much like a reboot where they were trying to keep the story line going.  I know that was needed by removing Rick from the equation.  I'm not sure how I feel about the time jump for the second time this season.

I did like seeing Carol roast the former Saviors.  That was pretty cool, but why in the world would those guys still be floating around 3-4 years later?  I'd have thought they'd have been killed off or just vacated the area.

What I wish hadn't been advertised the past couple of weeks, was these are the last Rick Grimes episodes.  That to me, has killed some of the suspense.

I certainly hope he doesn't go out like a bitch, but something that is fitting for the character.  Too often in this show, we are being led to something grand and phenomenal, and then a total let down.  Honestly, I'd like to see him walk away, much like Morgan, and the door left open for a possible return...or just the question mark of what happened to him?

I'm through Season 2 of Daredevil and loved them both.  I've watched the Punisher and it's probably my favorite of the Netflix MCU stuff.  However, I'm going back to watch The Defenders before I start DD season 3.

I probably wont' watch the other spin offs unless I just have nothing to do.  I tried watching Luke Cage and was something like four or five episodes in and was bored to tears.

I just imagine them wanting to leave door open to bring him back in some way at some point especially if they want to follow any upcoming comic story lines or specific events.

This right here.

Vintage Kenner / Re: Vintage Beater Millenium Falcon

I ended up finding what I was looking for.

I bought a semi-complete POTF2 MF that was missing the canopy, ramp, and radar.  I then found a VTC 2004 MF that was missing the gun, and glass for the gun.  I ended up buying that one as well and then transferred the missing gun and glass to the VTC one.

I'm now debating to complete the POTF version, sell it as is, or strip the parts and then sell all of it in pieces.

All that, but I'm stoked to start my custom paint job.

OKay, I picked up a MF for pretty cheap, but it's missing a few parts.

I'm looking for a canopy with glass and a ramp.  I'll take a 3D printed one if somebody has one and the price is right.

I know that the classified boards don't get a lot of traffic, so I thought I'd post here.  I'm looking to do a custom repaint of a MF.  I don't want to get a good quality one because I don't want to ruin what value it might still be holding.  I'm looking for one that has gear, the landing ramp, the canopy cover, main gun with glass, and back cover...or at least all of that as possible. I'd also take a POTF2 if anyone has one.

Hit me up and let me know.

Watto's Junk Yard / Re: The Transformers Live Action Movies

I saw the trailer yesterday and I've gotta admit I'm pretty stoked.  I loved seeing the actual Transformers of my childhood...it was even better being able to actually recognize them!!  I've got high hopes for this.  I was not really a fan of the movies beyond the very first, and slightly for the third.  The rest of the series was terrible.

I can't wait to see this.

The ride issue is a bit disconcerting.  Next Thanksgiving/Christmas I was debating taking my family to DW for a week.

That one in Garland, Texas is about five minutes from where I work.  I might swing by there just to see what they have.

Holy crap!!!  How does something like that happen unless AFA was in cahoots with someone?  I can see something slipping through every now and then.  I mean, we've also seen some phenomenal fakes, but wow, that's totally unacceptable.

I did stumble across a few things after you posted yesterday, but wasn't inclined enough to read through page after page after page covering some of the mess.
