Part of me wonders if they would go full circle and make them some kind of Death Star parts to even further tie it into Rogue One in a heavy-handed way?

Maybe, Ive been wondering if Kaenari is connected as it might have provided the ore for the death star. Maybe the accident and the off-limits status for the planet was just a cover-up story to hide the scope of the project the empire was working on.
And I'm still struck by the design callbacks to THX 1138.

It's been a long time since I've seen THX 1138 but those were the vibes I was getting from the prison barracks and I'm surprised if it's not a nod to that..

I’m really hoping it’s a blurrg too. We haven’t had a beast in the TVC line since the 2010 Tauntaun. (Not counting Jabba with the Khetanna).

Dang that would be nice.  A blurrg would be one of the few items I would be really exited about rather than many other options.

EDIT: Does anyone know what they were building on Narkina 5?

I don't know for sure. I can't tell if we should know or if the units are generic. I was wondering if it might be internal foot machinery for AT-ATs but I doubt we could recognize that.

I've liked the show so far, but it does kind of feel like it's a bit too long/slow at some points.  Hoping the action ramps up a bit more over the last 6 episodes.

Yeah, they could have shortened the raid prep episodes by at least 50%.  Learning about everyone's background and all the idle chit chat around the campfire is wasted when nearly everyone ends up dead.  If it doesn't help develop Cassian's character arc it should be cut way back.

I'm finding no issues with the pacing especially with a rewatch. I agree the pace takes it time in episodes 4&5 but all of Cassian's interactions with the team highlight who Cassian is and how experienced he is. It builds a really solid argument for why Rael sought him out to ensure the raid succeeded by making up for shortcomings in the team.

These two arcs set up a pattern of two detailed into episodes followed by a crazy climactic episode.

I'm starting to wonder if Gareth Edwards had a toned down role for Cassian in Rogue One and Tony Gilroy came in and beefed up the role as the guy who will do what it takes to sabotage the empre.

Yes, some of what happens is a little too convenient I guess, but it all made for good storytelling in my opinion.  I liked the Robin/Nancy duo, but agree that Robin's lesbian love interest wasn't really necessary.

I think Robin's crush is important indirectly. It makes way for Steve and Nancy and it also strengthens Robin and Steve as buddies.

Here's a comparable, hypothetical situation - would people have backed Ahsoka's two white bladed lightsabers at $500?  I think the love for the character would have carried it to full backing.

Yeah, that may have succeeded. Though, do they even need haslab to sell Ahsoka's sabers?

That's the idea behind Haslab. I can appreciate how they wanted to be current by going with Reva. But given the timing of the launch of the campaign? Reva was not well established enough as a character to be the centerpiece of a Haslab campaign.

I don't have any desire to defend this poor campaign, but wasn't this the first black series Inquisitor saber? I assumed this campaign was the chance to produce an Inquisitor saber, tied to a new character from a new series. So not just a bet on Reva as a character.

Either way it was a poor bet, and I support the idea of pursuing this as a normal release in two halves like Maul's sabers. Thought I don't buy many sabers and wont be buying it if it is released.

This is sad and entertaining at the same time. Hopefully the SW Haslab team gets a reboot.

Yeah, I'm not sure if they've got a mission to broaden the Haslab SW collecting world, or if their primary mission is to make money.

If its to make money they should stay focused on 3.75".  If its to broaden the Haslab world to something other than 3.75" they've managed to get the failure part mastered.

They're 2 for 2 on 3.75" and 0 for 2 on everything else.

Are there any weapons or props you guys think haslab should touch?

That doesn't seem like a good fit to me. There's plenty of other companies doing life size replicas and hasbro and disney have so many lightsabers covered.  I feel like action figure related toys are the best SW ideas to focus on with has lab. Plus TVC is the scale for me.

I feel the jocks are totally an 80s thing. They also played a big roll in Lucas's development this season. I also got the Frank Herbert Paul Atreides look how dangerous a smooth talking good looking leader can be vibe.

I also have learned I watch TV much differently than other people. I don't know if I just don't care about small plot devices or if I'm not smart/observant enough to catch them. Never even crossed my mind what Robin did to get to Nancy and Steve's conversation.

Lucas barely had a plot without the jocks. I guess its tough with all the new screen time given to newer characters.

The plot devices arent so bad to me. Robin seemed to be providing a similar role to 3pO walking in on Han and Leia in ESB.

6" Cobra HISS Tank = 5500 backers in the first 3 hours; Inquisitor FX Elite Lightsaber... not so much. :P

HasLab Force FX Elite Reva Lightsaber:
5/27 - 439
5/29 - 730
6/3 - 957
6/13 - 1034
6/23 - 1103
6/29 - 1297

12+ days left...

Yeah, this lightsaber was already doomed, but today it was steamrolled by a fleet of HISS tanks. I wonder if people will start cancelling to back the tank.

I get not using the plastic, but couldn't they still include a small window/opening to see a little bit of what's inside?  The new Transformer line has this where there isn't a big enough to steal anything, but you can still see part of the actual figure inside to know what you're getting.

Can the heads be pulled off those legacy transformers? That's a problem lately

Isn't TVC a revolution in packaging compared to other toy lines? They should just do nothing and tout how revolutionary this design is.  ;)
