Revenge of the Sith / Re: Jedi Temple Assault Battle Pack
« on: July 27, 2005, 10:33 AM »
I head one rumor of these guys hitting, and with respect to the guy who reported it, I think the person who told him didn't know what they were talking about. Let's just hope they treat these like the cantina scenes an put out pleanty.

Revenge of the Sith / Re: Target DPCI Number Reboot?
« on: July 27, 2005, 10:30 AM »
Ok - so as I posted over in the Evolutions thread - I'm willing to scan in the bar-codes from recent items so we can build an image library of assortment barcodes that can be used in lieu of typing in the DPCI number. Here are the lines I can think of:

Collection 1 Basic Figures
Collection 2 Basic Figures
Target Cups
500th Vader
Deluxe Figures
Unleashed Figures
Battle Packs
Evolutions

If anyone wants anything else let me know here and I'll let you know if I can accomodate the request. Just so everyone knows in advance, I do not collect: Galactic Heroes, the [du]MPire turds, Force Battlers and Jedi Force so I do not have source materials to scan for those.

I have the inserts from the Vader/Ventress/Sidious+Yoda Unleashed wave here at my desk along with the collection 2 insert I was using today so I could scan them here at work to get this started.

Good idea Pete. Thanks.

I'll bet the conversation that the Hasbro rep had with his superiors wasn't pleasant though....

Watto's Junk Yard / JD observation
« on: July 26, 2005, 11:32 AM »
I've been monitoring the touchy situation in the Why there are no pictures of Bly thread and it finally hit me what is familliar about the atmosphere of this sight. JD is college compared to all the other sights being High school.

Think about it. I don't know about you, but high school was kind of rough in that a lot of people were just immature and the teachers in general just didn't care. When college came around, everyone kind of bonded togeather and became more tollerant of others. I specifically remember the effort that people made to accept everyone without exception, and that's the feeling I get around here, an honest effort to make eachother as welcome as possible, even durring stressful situations.

Cheers.

I was just curious why you have no desire to get to know any of the locals out there, especially when they're having big get-togethers (10-15 people) every month now.

You've already answered your question, I'm a newbie around here

What does that mean? You're not alowed to associate with vets? I'm sure they'd be happy to have you.

Saga Collection '06 / Re: Advertising
« on: July 26, 2005, 10:33 AM »
I don't know about the whole advertising deal. I know they have run TV commercial adds for the modern line, but I don't know if it's even necsesary at all since they have a built in audience. I'd be curious to see how Hasbro would respond to this question, because they can't say the don't advertised because of a built in audience,  that would conradict their claim that the line is mainly purchased by kids.

The Prequel Trilogy / Re: Star Wars Back-to-back X 3!

That's not a bad idea. LOTR had good success when they did their marathon back when ROTK was released and they know SW fans would line up for it.

Revenge of the Sith / Re: "Evolutions" assortment...
« on: July 25, 2005, 10:36 AM »
Isn't it funny Muftak how luke got darker through the classic trilogy as it went on ..LOL I mean think about it
He was a baby=really white

then he was a young buck(NH)=white with yellow and brown

then he was grey(ESB)= getting darker

finally he was ..Black?= like a sith

shoot he was even choking Gam. guards like vader

A 4 pack..! wow! Why did lucas change the jedi apparrel so that they were all wearing light or warm brown robes? even obi-won had a dark robe in (NH)?

Great observation and excellent evolutions pack idea! It would be perfect. The Jedi Luke could come with interchangeable hand, cloak and vest for Tatooine scenes and poncho and Helmet for endor scenes. It could rock!
