Today we have a simple weathering job on two 442nd Siege Batallion troops. Nothing complicated, and it's a simple repaint, but it's still a custom.

Well, I hope you like them. LMK what you think. Thanks for looking.

Now me on the other hand, everything I say is Gospel.
Kevin

It's funny...When I read your posts I get... Ego, Naive, and 'holier than though' from them. Ok , it's not really that funny but it sure isn't Gospel either.

DS

 It's "holier than thou".

Sorry for correcting you, but that's like the 5th time I've seen that misspelled recently and I couldn't restrain myself any longer.

Eh...various military figures.

Thanks for your comment DR.

Well, I was browsing through some clone customs earlier today and I was inspired by aeseven7's Lagoon Trooper seen here.

The Felucia 4th Unit was a small subgroup under the 327th Star Corps. They specialized in reconnaissance missions that located and tagged droid combat units. Their armor was outfitted with a special oxygen tank that allowed them to stay submerged in water for extended periods of time. Their armor was dotted with gray accents as well as a smear-style camoflauge scheme and often covered in grime from basically living in the Felucian undergrowth for a mission.

Sergeant Derrosk is a tough, battle-hardened clone soldier. One of the best in his unit, he is an excellant leader of his troops and wears a specialized helmet for stealth operations.

To avoid this being a "simple repaint" (), I added the chest pack from a BBi Navy Seal Diver and a greeblie to his scuba pack.

His kit:

This was pretty much a random custom. I was stuck home all day today and threw him together.

If there's any still around I'll try to pick up a second set...this really is a great battlepack.

HNB, a "wash" is when you take black paint (or brown, or gray, or a mix, etc.) and dilute a lot with water. Then you paint it on the figure, wipe away the excess, and the last step is my "special step". I get rid of everything except what's in the crevices and some smudges with acetone.

Thanks DR and HNB for your comments.

With the 4th Star Corps trooper, I hated how the Evo helmet is like 3 times as big as the SA trooper's. So, I got rid of it and the pauldron, swapped out heads for the Ep2 trooper, and added some accesories and some paint details.

Private Orikan was a medic in the 327th Star Corps. He never wore a pauldron or a helmet in order to comfort the fatally wounded. He wore a pack on his back armor to house most of his medic supplies, and he carried a satchel that had emergency supplies such as medpacks, painkillers, and antidotes for the many poisonous plants and animals on Felucia.

I'm also working on an alternate outfit for Aayla Secura. That should be up today as well.

Well, I picked up the new Betrayal on Felucia pack last night. Very impressive set, but they were...clean. They're on a fungal jungle! So, I mixed up a cup of wash fluid and got to work. I also added some minor paint details (such as Bly's correct brown stripe paint scheme). I only have Bly and the 2 other CC mold grunts. The Evo one is getting turned into a medic of some sorts.

The only time I've ever found a Target Exclusive BP is when I used the DCPI.

I'm going today for some other things, and I'll swing by Target. If they have these on the shelf (it's only a day before the reset date), I'll pick one up. I'm still not sure if I want to go through the whole DCPI thing.

EDIT- I was pleasantly suprised. As soon as I got in the store I plugged in the DCPI and it said it wasn't in the stockroom. A little bummed, I went to the toys just to check they weren't on the shelf. I was even more discouraged when I found two in the main shelf where the 327th grunts had been switched out for Clone Commanders and ROTS #6 clones. Finally, I checked the rear endcaps, and lo and behold, there were 5 BOF packs and like ten Ambush on Ilum packs. Picked one up, and I was not let down. Easily the best battle pack to date.

I'm still debating on whether or not to get this pack...$4 a figure is pretty appealing. But I know that if I don't use the DCPI trick I'm never going to see these. The only problem is that I've had a hard time using it. The only time it worked was for the Mace pack, and I went to Customer Service.

Yeah...Pittsburgh is pretty much the suck right now. I ended up going online for the two figs from Wave 8 that I wanted, and I haven't even been out on a toy row for over a week. It's just not worth it, because I know I won't find anything...

Star Wars Action Figures / Re: D_N's Customs- New Update 1/24
« on: January 24, 2007, 05:00 PM »
Well, another week, another update.

This custom's a little slapdash just to get an entry in for this month's Yakfinities challenge. Spare parts, some black paint, Darth Vader's cape and lightsaber, and voila! A Dark Jedi...

Jedi Knight Evir Abren was a member of the Jedi Order until Order 66. When his small battle group of clones turned on him, he managed to fight back and defeat the squad that attacked him. Sneaking off the planet, he flew to the only reasonably safe location he knew- the lightsaber crystal meditation caves of Ilum.

Spending several months on the planet, he developed a sense of hatred towards the Republic, or newly-formed Empire, and decided to discard his Jedi Force limitations and use the untapped resources of the Dark Side...

Constructing a new, red-hued lightsaber, Abren turned to bounties and assasinations, as well as acting as a vigilante towards the Empire. As a tribute to his past life, he wore his armored boots as well as his torn and tattered robes from the Clone Wars.

Well, I hope you like him. LMK what you think. Thanks for looking.

Great! I'm heading out to WalMart today for some regular shopping and I will definitely check out the lawn and garden. Do you know if any of the Hanomags come in a North Africa camo scheme?

The only vehicles that I've seen are the Navy Seal Vietnam jeep (once) and some planes...I wish I could find some halftracks and PAK-40s...I would definitely customize some.

It would be nice if my local WalMart got these, especially the Sandie/ATAT pack.

Unfortuneately, I'm almost positive I'll never see these.

Hmm...over two weeks without an update...ouch. Anyways, I kind of feel ashamed posting such a simple update...I've had a bit of a customizer's block of some sort. I'm this close to giving up customizing for a while until some new figures come out. I'm sick of customizing the same thing.

So, all I did was take the "Sergeant Cass" figure from my Dec. 26th update and change his backstory, head, pauldron, weaponry, and added a helmet as well. So here goes:

ARC Trooper ARC-138, "Cass", specialized in jungle combat and black ops. Quiet, reserved, and an excellent combatant, Cass usually partakes in missions by himself, often spending weeks at a time tracking a certain objective and eventually eliminating it.

His Phase 2 armor is fully outfitted in an abstract camoflauge pattern to conceal himself in heavy foliage. His weapons of choice include a scoped DC-17s carbine as well as the BT-20, a shoulder-mounted heavy blaster cannon which was very useful for incapacitating vehicles.

And a pic of his custom weapons:

Like I said above, not much. Well, I hope you like him. LMK what you think. Thanks for looking.
