*wishing he had a picture of the upcoming "Houston Astros Championship Run" DVD*

I don't get that.  Sure winning the NL is nice, but isn't the ultimate goal to win the WS?  Why celebrate what basically amounts to a disappointing season?

The best part of that is, is that it comes out before the Chi-Sox WS Champions DVD.

The Ultimate DVD Collection / 14 Discs / Around $125 / Limited to 10,000 copies

Discs 1-6: Same as above
Discs 7-10:  The Complete TV Series (1974) (Same as previous 4-disc release, but with new photo galleries and TV spots)
Discs 11-12: Return to the Planet of the Apes: The Complete Animated Series (1975) (BRAND NEW TO DVD)
Disc 13:  Tim Burton's Planet of the Apes (2001) (Same as previous Special Edition Disc 1)
Disc 14:  Tim Burton's Planet of the Apes Bonus Disc (Same as previous Special Edition Disc 2)
Big-ass monkey head case

According to the HTF thread below, Fox has indicated that there will be a separate release of the animated series:

PLANET OF THE APES Update - SEE POST #98 FOR PRESS RELEASE & FOX ADDRESSING MEMBER QUESTIONS

If that pans out, then everything in the Ultimate set will be available separately, except for the new photo galleries and TV spots on the TV series discs, along with that freaky monkey head.

From a different HTF thread:

Quote
I just received further information directly from
the folks at Fox Home Entertainment concerning the
upcoming Planet Of The Apes release. The
studio seems very concerned that our members get
the most up-to-date information....

The studio says they are no longer able to release
the animated series separately as singles. They are
still including the animated series in the Ultimate
Collection (head) but were just not physically able
to get it re-mastered in time to release it as a single.

They are, however, working to do so.

The animated TV set is essentially a bonus that
the studio added to the Ultimate Collection for fans
to complete the Planet of the Apes experience.

Not bad news, just a slightly longer wait for the
animated series to be available on its own.

All proceeds would go to fund the 2006 "Raid the MLB of Talent" fund, which would subsequently lead to them, once again, failing to learn you can't buy championships anymore.

I didn't see any info about this here yet, and it's very sketchy at the moment, but WHV has a listing for a new 2-disc Blade Runner... can't wait to see more details on this.

Picked up these at Walmart.  They just got re-released and were all on sale for $8.50 ea.  Funny stuff.  I only picked up these two which were the best IMO.

Also had to see what all the hype was about this flick.  Still have to watch it.

I picked up the Dune duel addition DVD. I've been waiting for one for a while. Now I can see why Lynch disavowed himself from the extended addition. It's pretty awful. Great to see some of the scenes that were cut and were great scenes from the book, but the way they are intergrated into the expanded addition really slow it down.

I put Dune in the other day - I went to watch the extended version but when the credit came up that said "Directed by Alan Smithee" I couldn't do it.  I watched the original cut.

There's rumors floating around that Lynch is going to do his own extended cut at some point - I've also heard that it will be as long as 4 or 5 hours.

I picked up the "box" set about a year ago for $30 CAD.  I think it was a mistake on the pricing because that's cheaper than the US price.  Great to have them and we already had them on VHS but for the price of a new release, we couldn't pass up.

Picked up Bambi II and Wallace and Grommet yesterday :-[

"Bambi 2" is a GREAT movie, IMO, and very true to the original. I'm betting it from work tonight. I think I've added about 61 titles in the new year, with no signs of lettin' up.

I think I've added about 6 in the new year, and I have no signs of letting up either.  I'm at the point where 650+ DVD's is too damn many.  I've been trying to trim the fat so to speak by trading in a few here and there over the course of the last few months.
