I'm going to agree with Fritzkrieg...a 21st Century head might come closer to the reference picture. I think the Salvo head would work better for Walon Vau.

Darth Slothus is going to Comic-Con with different hats and a variety of prop beards and mustaches in his backpack.   ;)

I agree with JesseVader that seeing Vos with that "Fan's Choice" figure is fitting somehow.

What I don't get is the love for the ICMG, Willrow Hood. He's just some guy running through the background, he isn't even vuisually interesting. I think there's something about that Ice Cream machine that makes everyone fixated on him. Would you want him if he DIDN'T have an ice cream machine? Why not just make an ice cream machine in a Bespin Accessory Pack?   ;)

I certainly wouldn't want to see him before Hermi Odle or even Yarna. Hell, I don't want to see him made before Cantina Barmaid Bea Arthur.  ;D

Yes, it's an easy figure to customize but the exclusivity factor and the fact that LF allowed Hasbro to finally do a black stormtrooper makes it cool.

Is it worth $15?  Probably not - but Hasbro will sell a ****load at the show and online...

Capitalism at it's finest my friends.

Speaking of capitalism, keep an eye out on ebay the day the show starts...

Hell, people will be pre-selling these beeyatches long before the con starts...

That's simply stunning. The face is what really gets me...from the profile, it really, REALLY looks like Vos.

You really raise the bar with each new custom you do, KRYART. Makes me wonder how good you'll be in a year. It boggles the mind.  ;)

I'm looking at this, and it's just so inspired...I doubt Hasbro could produce anything as nice. I can't wait to try one of my own.

One question though...what did you use for the metal ring and ribbons on the lower portion of the robe? It's unbelievably cool!

Check out this work of art:

I am simply blown away here. Words really fail me. I had started a Revan custom, but I think after seeing this it's back to the drawing board!  :o

Why, aeseven? Why do you not share these works of art with us, your customizing family, in your own thread? Why must we find them while wandering the streets like some filthy, cycloptic vagrant with a stick in our one good eye?  ;D

Voted for Quinlan Vos.  ;D

Me too. As I will continue to vote in the top 25.

The Vintage Collection / Re: Please Vote Willrow Hood

Again, my big point is that I'm guessing 20-25% of the market (that's being conservative) could give a rats ass about EU figures and won't buy them

While only 5-10% of people feel the same about not being a Movie Completist.  There is a certain group that will buy everything (myself probably included) but I see enough people bitching about not wanting EU that I can see why it hasn't been done more

Hell, even Clone Wars stuff sat and sat for months and was eventually clearanced

Willrow would be no different than any of them...again, it just shocks me that the EU did so well in this poll.  Maybe its because I'm used to this site where there seems to be older collectors who don't really care for the stuff

Clone Wars sat on the pegs? I'm not sure where you live, but here in So. Cal, it sold like bullsh*t at a Dr. Phil convention. Not even Yoda and Anakin warmed the pegs, and the Red Arc, Kit Fisto, Mace and the rest of the later waves didn't last a day on the shelves.

That being said, there is probably no figure on the list I wouldn't vote for BEFORE Willrow Hood. Some dude running in the background with an ice cream maker does not an interesting figure make. He's not a cool alien. He doesn't have an interesting outfit. He's just some dude in an orange brown jumpsuit that has even less recognition from fans than any EU character you could name. Hell, I'd vote for that damn green bunny rabbit before this guy. This guy on a peg would make Neimoidian Warrior look like Scorch.

I'm afraid my vote lies with Quinlan Vos, followed by Hermi Odle or any of the characters from KOTOR. (The Galactic Marine and Neyo are retarded, as let's face it...Hasbro is going to make those anyway.)

Willrow Hood. Isn't that Mando'a for "unsellable?"

I am all over this figure. I really dig it, especially if it comes with the blue bodyglove. That's an awesome contrast.

Luckily I work for Comic-Con and have a ton of friends who attend who have no interest in exclusive figures...I do believe I will make sure to get some of these despite whatever limit they put in place, and hook up my peeps. (Chewie, JJ...I'm looking at you.)  :P

My guess is that the usual will apply though...2 per person until Sunday, when the leftovers will be sold with no limit so they don't have to ship them home. Although they may be tougher to get since unlike the silver sandtrooper and that crappy leia holo, army builders will be grabbier than Michael Jackson leading a boy scout troop...

Hey Hemble!

Now THAT is a realistic looking Fett! Great attention to detail and really vibrant colors...I have to say you took an already excellent figure and made it flawless. with your paint app.

The Solo came out very nice as well, I like the silvery look. Great job man!

Star Wars Action Figures / Re: Talon_Karrde's Customs Update pg5
« on: March 14, 2006, 01:00 AM »
Hey Talon,

Great job on the Parjai. One area I think you really excel is in choosing and implementing various accessories into your customs. You did it with your red and black bounty hunter awhile back, and now here. The ammo belt looks great on this.

If I wear to change anything I would go with a heavier fabric on the softgoods kama, and fold the edges toward the inside and sew them to avoid unrealistic looking fraying. I'd also drybrush a little silver and black on the "heavy wear" areas of the armor, especially on the legs and thighs, and across the shoulder plates to simulate paint wear and chipping.

The Jedi is damn near flawless. I must say, the improvements you've made in your technique is really evident here. The drybrushing brings out just the right amount of detail in the leather jerkin and on the head and hands. The color selection on the robes is also well thought out and seems logical for a Jedi. A lot of people have made Sakiyan Jedi, but I think I'm going to choose this as my favorite thus far.

Keep up the good work!

I think it was mentioned in an old issue of Insider.
They said he died during the explosion.

Well, the Insider has also reported K'kruhk dying on Hypori and Captain Ordo's name as "Fordo," so I'm going to take that info with a grain of salt and say as far as I'm concerned he made it.  :P

Thanks for the feedback, everyone, I appreciate it. As it stands I think the blindfold will stay red for now as most seem to like the contrast. I really do think a short story with the blind Eeth Koth would be a lot of fun...I think I'll start outlining the story this week.

Phruby: The Logan's Run robots name is "Box." Funny thing is, he has an X on his chest that's exactly the same as Microsoft's X-Box.   :)

Food from the sea!
