Title: Kinder Suprise - Hipperium
Post by: obre on January 20, 2003, 01:44 PM
Has anyone got those little guys (and girl)? I know that in US is forbidden to sell that kind of toy and food mixture. Something good about living in Europe (SW considering) is that I eat a ton of chocolate and got most of figures.

I really love them, they're cool as hell. Unfortunately, I'm an American... So I've gotta find someone to hook me up with one or two of them eventually.

I have the set of the Hippos. The only thing that  did not get was the Playset. I did not know about some playset so that is something I will get later.
BUt the little hippos and the other toys that were in the assortment are pretty neat.

I recomend picking up a set if you ever get the chance.

The picture doesnt show this, but the Landspeeder has a cool floating mechanism in it. You balance the front on a clear plastic peg to hold it in place, and a magnet in the back makes it float!

There are also five other "Kinder Maxi Egg" suprises, 2 plush figures (Hippoda and Aubacca), an Erzwo Pull Back Robot, a puzzle, and a game

There were two unliscensed cardboard dioramas made by a company called Dragon, one a Millenium Falcon, the other a Vader style helmet.

toypalace (Germany) is the place for these.  Prices are quasi reasonable but shipping is a tad scary for North America.

Vaders helmet display (http://toypalace2.shoppingserver.de/shop.mv?Choice=ShowPopup&Artikel=958)

I didn't find the other display, though they had it before, or the figs themselves.  Cool stuff.

The German chocolate company Kinder has a mascot character known as the Happy Hippo (also the name of one of their chocolate bars). Kinder got the rights from Lucasfilm to dress these characters up in Star Wars parody costumes; they also had a short series of animated shorts, and adorned the packaging of Kinder for a brief period. These toys were available in Kinder Chocolate Eggs. There were ten small figures (as seen in the picture) available in randomly packed regular sized eggs (other eggs have different toys, highly collectible in German and some collecting circles). The six big items (pull back Erzwo (R2), plush Hippoda and Aubacca, a puzzle, a game and a figure scale landspeeder) were available in Kinder Maxi chocolate eggs and were harder to come by.

Hope that answers your question! :)

For some reason I just can't get interested in these Hippo figures.  I still can't believe I bought almost all of the Playskool Star Wars items.

I need some help

Can anyone hook me up with some of the Maxi Egg toys? I need the game, puzzle, pull back Erzwo, and both plushes.

I had sent money to a woman to purchase these (50 bucks, ouch), but havent heard from her in months. She emailed me once after getting the money, saying she had been very ill, and then stopped emailing me. Sort of fearing the worst for her.... Yeesh!

You should really post this in the CLASSIFIEDS section.  Wish I could help you out, but I have no idea what "Maxi Egg" toys are.

I got my Maxi Egg toys today! :) I was so excited to finally get them! But what is unbelievable is what else came with them. To make up for shipping them so late, the woman I bought them from sent me a Kinder boxed game set for LOTR:TTT, with a gameboard and 7 chocolate eggs, two with LOTR figures (Sauraman and Treebeard), the other five were basic Kinder toys and they all came in a nice boxed set! VERY cool set!

ANNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNND!

She also sent me the Blue Star Darth Vader styled helmet display for the Kinder Hippos. VERY cool. Unfortunately, you have to cut out all the pieces by hand, and all the directions are in German lol

My old link to the display no longer works, pulls up a frickin' Ewok ::)  How's that for irony >:(

Ha!  I did get a kick out of that.

This is a good spot to post my pic of the 10 basic figures:

This little info sheet was included by the seller I purchased the set from on eBay (it's 3" by 4 1/4"):

I would really like to get the Darth Lazer chase, I was just looking on eBay Germany and nothing.  :-\

I'd like to get the Erzwo-Hipo and the Landspeeder. The Millennium Falcon diorama would be to die for.

Ha!  Erzwo-Hipo  (http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=154&item=7954912781&rd=1) on Ebay for $14.99. I know the seller sort of, Sherry collected Kinder figures a couple of years back and made a new friend with the Ertl family. I'll have to ask Sherry if she still plays email tag and if there is any chance of a Darth Lazer chase and what they go for.  8)

Just saw your resent post there Jesse as I was typing this.  ;D

Hippo Diorama (http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=6155388695&ssPageName=STRK:MEWA:IT)

Listing price was ~$26US or ~$35 CDN - it was very tempting!   ;)

So this is the set of 10 you got, right Jesse?

What's the deal with the "description papers"?  That guy's site says you can get all 10 different papers for an extra $2.50.  Are there really 10 different ones?  What'd you get?  Did they come packaged in any way?  Individually, or as a set?  Can't recall...

Also, is this landspeeder the same scale as these figures?

And lastly, can someone remind me WHY I "need" these again?   :-\

The description papers are kinda like instructions, they come with the Kinder toys in the eggs. My papers are in storage but you can see a set of the 10 here:

Kinder Figures and papers (http://www.alixkinder.com/kinder-surprise/figurines/monoblocs/happy_hippo_star_wars.html)

There is only 1 paper per figure so 10 different papers.

I am not sure what scale the Landspeeder is.

RS has a nice page on the SW's Kinder figures.

Like shown in the link Dale posted (thanks by the way  :)), all of the description papers are the same on one side, and then on the other side have individual descriptions for each figure they came with.  I only received one paper (Darth Laser), but since all of the writing is in German anyway I wasn't too worried about getting them all.

Also, is this landspeeder the same scale as these figures?

I can't remember where I read it, possibly in the Rebelscum section on these Hippos, but I believe the landspeeder is the same scale as the figures.

And lastly, can someone remind me WHY I "need" these again?   :-\

Because they're so damn cute!  Come on, they've got chick magnet written all over them.  What woman could resist a man who has a miniature hippo who's posed like Yoda.  I mean really, what kind of question is that?   ;D

But seriously (sort of), I think they're cute, and like you said earlier, they are a finite collection that takes up very little space.  I really have no plans to collect the rest of the various items, although like Dale said, that diorama is pretty sweet.

It really is a good thing you're married already, you know that.
1. Star Wars toys = chick magnet ::)
2. Pharmacist - ooh, that's exciting :P
3. Alcoholic - 'Nuff said.
4. Lives in rural Saskatchewan - stubble jumper, gapper, etc.

Dale, I just checked eBay Germany and there was 5 or 6 of those black chase hippos listed. The highest bid price so far was like 18.5 euros (about US$25), so still relatively reasonable...unless you start thinking about how small these things are.  ;)

Search for "Dark Laser" (with an 's'). Should be able to find some. Hopefully they'll ship to Canada.

Now to see if I can get someone to ship here or find some member out there.  :-\

Thanks Bob.  :)

Hi!

I found this site by chance on the web and am very impressed that you guys are still interested in the Hipperium characters I created a couple of years ago for this Kinder Surprise chocolate eggs of Ferrero... should you need some of these figures, I can go hunting and try to find the ones you are missing and send them to you. But I first will have to ask for the shipping costs...

While down at C4, I found a booth selling SW Kinder. Very pricey, they had lots of complete sets for $45., the Millennium Falcon diorama for I think $800., a Landspeeder for around $50., a hard copy of Obi-Wan Hippobi for $250. & the very hard to find chase Dark Laser all in black for $100. The search goes on for the black Dark Laser.  :-\
