Finally found the HW Batmobile this week. Pretty cool. Also, I found a '70 Chevelle ragtop redline. This one wasn't labeled as a Red Line; are they still labeling the Red Lines as such?

As for Matchbox, managed to get one of each of the the green 55th ann. models (Mini, Bronco and Lexus), and picked up yet another of my favorite model of the year...the Alfa Romeo Giulia.

Received my SS gift yesterday; three sets of Galactic Heroes (which my girls promptly tore into) and a supercool Stormtrooper mug (not shown, since I had just saved it from an early demise at the hands of the little one).

.

Thanks Secret Santa (Tracy)!  :)

Yeah, the proliferation of text messaging is really starting to get on my nerves, too. I think my cell does texting, but I haven't a clue how to do it, or even if I could understand a text message anyway.

Beth, I wish I actually knew where the heck my SuperNintendo is! When I click on some of these gaming threads here, it's like reading a foreign language. Wii? Sure that's spelled right?

My wife just bought a new laptop and left it on one day before dashing to work. I attempted to shut it down but couldn't figure out where the Shut Down command was in Vista (she had to show me later...ugh). I realized that technology had passed me by. I'm now a bit intimidated by all this stuff. My cell phone is a base model that probably does stuff I have no idea how to access or use. I've heard of an ipod (and actually want one...I've been looking to put all my Foghat tapes on digital!), but even my work computer is running on Win2000, so it's behind the times, too, and the newer ipods require XP. My last gaming system was a SuperNintendo bought back in '93, and I haven't a clue regarding any of the new systems (do they have Kaboom! and Pitfall!?). When the hell did I get so old and out of date with technology? Sure, having kids probably had something to do with this, but still, I feel I'm like my dad was back when he got his first computer (spending hours playing solitaire, lifting the mouse up and saying "crap!" all the time). Next thing you know I'll be chasing kids off my lawn at home.

Anyone else behind the times? Post anonymously, if needed.

In ho-hum news, the Tampa Bay Devil Rays officially changed their nickname from Devil Rays to Rays, as well as redoing their uniforms and color scheme. Personally, I much prefer the sound of Tampa Bay Devil Rays rather than Tampa Bay Rays. It sounds a lot like Tampa Bayrays. Just doesn't sound poetic enough. However, considering their on-field product, maybe it's fitting.

But maybe I'm thinking about it too much.

In other news, Giants resigned Vizquel to a one-year deal.  ::)

The minivan just is hard to swallow, so we need some options for a vehicle that can seat five or more with some comfort.  Our VW wagon just ain't cutting it.

Yeah, the minivan is hard to swallow, but we couldn't find anything that fit our needs other than a minivan. We needed space for at least five, and two of those had to accomodate bulky carseats for a couple of preschoolers. We were looking at the CUV-type autos with three rows, but they had limited access to the third row if the carseats were installed in the second row. We needed pretty good access for my wife's mom, so our only option left was a minivan with sliding side doors. And when we were looking for minivans, the one with the highest safety rating at the time was the Kia Sedona. And that's what we've got...2007, silver, and we're totally happy with it (other than it being a minivan and all). ;)

Just an FYI for you Cars collectors, the Supercharged Sarge Car was part of the latest Mattel recall involving lead paint. I've bought a couple of these cars, and some I've given to my little girls. I have a Sarge that has the lead paint problem, but thankfully hadn't yet given it to my girls. I'll follow up to let you know how smooth/unsmooth the recall process is.

Well, received my $7 voucher in the mail the other day. It's good for any Mattel/Fisher-Price product. The whole process was pretty smooth and I'm actually surprised at how quickly I received it; I was thinking it would be many, many months.

The Red Sox look unstoppable, but anything could happen. The Rockies also look pretty damn good, though.

ALCS:
Boston over Cleveland 4-1

NLCS:
Colorado over Arizona 4-2

WS:
Boston over Colorado 4-3

30th Anniversary Collection / Re: 30AC #20 Stormtrooper

I just got this one and opened it. Yeah, I know I'm behind the times with this, and it really isn't anything that hasn't been stated before, but I can't help but chirping in with my disappointment regarding this figure. Maybe you do or do not know, but I'm a big fan of all things Stormtrooper, so this figure's lackluster appearance is a big letdown. That helmet, well, it's too damn big! The figure also seems to be a tad bit shorter than the VOTC Stormie (even at the shoulder). And I think having Jango's head is unnecessary, to say the least.

One thing's for sure, the Leafs should be definitely better in goal. Hopefully we won't miss Toskala too much.

As for the Sharks, I can't help but like their chances. Of course, I'd feel a whole lot better if Anaheim weren't around.

Just completed a great deal with Anthony for some super-cheap figures. He shipped superfast and was great all-around!  :)
