Title: LEGO 2018
Post by: Dave on January 3, 2018, 02:00 PM
I'm not sure I've got the full list, but the first batch for 2018 is a bit underwhelming.

There are also some brickheads and figures too, but I didn't include those.

The only one I'm kind of interested in is the Defense of Crait (has a ski speeder), but that price point is tough.  They've stuck a bunch of extra doo-dads in there to drive the price up.  It should probably be in the $40 range.  I'll probably grab the MicroFighter 2-packs too.

The rest are re-hashed, or just not that interesting.  Usually LEGO has at least 50% new and interesting sets with each release, so I'm a little disappointed, although the fall and winter 2017 releases were chock full of all new TLJ sets that I'm still working to get at a good price.

I picked up the Cantina set the other day...

The Tatooine Battle Pack is kind of on my radar I guess... but it's probably a more EU than OT, so maybe not.

I saw these all at a local WM last night and they're already on Rollback for under MSRP (matching Amazon prices). Some pretty good deals to be had on the mid-price range sets

New 2018 sets revealed, along with the most ridiculous price to piece ratio to this point. How much of this goes towards the Disney licensing fee? Good grief.

For the X-Wing Fighter now it seems the astromech droid fits in the normal way.

Cool minifigures in this set, but that price is too high for me.

Nice. And that's great about the price.  My Lego store buddy just left his job, so now I have to pay full price again.   :'(

I'll try to nab one during the next Double VIP promotion since that's the only way I buy directly from LEGO anymore. I'd like to modify/expand a lot of the rooms.

Apparently this was only made as a tie in to some VR Star Wars thing Disney is rolling out.

Personally I like that LEGO is willing to make an obscure set like this, but the price is completely wrong for me. I'm a year behind on LEGO as it is, and the sets keep getting more expensive.
