Watto's Junk Yard / Old People can be...
« on: April 25, 2004, 07:54 PM »
..extremely vicious.

As some of you may or may not know I am a dietary aide at a nursing home (which means I work in the kitchen), and we have to serve in the dining room there, well, over the past few days, some of these people have gone on a real mean streak lately.

One lady screamed at the cook so bad lastnight she literally lost her voice screaming, all because her doctor put her on a puree diet and she doesnt want to eat it, so she took it out on the cook and said we 'abuse her' and 'starve her to death.'  But it doesnt end there.

I NEVER in my life expected to hear what I heard tonight from two women who were arguing at the table.

Woman 1:  OH SHUT UP ALREADY!
Woman 2:  I don't have to!
W1:  Just shut the hell up, bitch!  Noone wants to hear you!
W2:  Why are you so mean?
W1:  I'm not mean, your just a dumb bitch!
W2:  (Mumbling)
W1: You know what?  Somebody needs to take you out into the woods, and shoot you, and drive away.

At that point I had to intervein and break the fight up between these two women (who are in their late 80s no less).

I never in a million years would have thought that the elderly could be so hateful to eachother...and to us!

Vicious!!

Edit:  Damnit.. I hit the wrong forum.  So one of you kind mods can please move this??

It must be that senile dimentia in the air...

My wonderful list of things I own that kill:

Remmington .22 W/Scope
Winchester 20 Guage Pump Shotgun
Savage (I think) .243
and a Bear Compound Bow

I won't lie, the .243, once something is shot with that, its not going anywhere.  I shot a deer with it this year, the first time I used it, and the animal dropped dead in its tracks.

ahh.  the joys of killing.   :P

Saga '02-'04 / Re: 25th Anniversary Clonetrooper
« on: April 5, 2004, 06:09 AM »
I went to TRU today. Didn't see the Clones, so I asked. They checked their computer, and it said they have 29 of them. OK, where are they? They looked around for fifteen minutes, and said they couldn't find them.

I'm going back tomorrow, but I'm not holding my breath. I might just order it from Amazon.

I not only had to show them the ad to prove they had them, but I went through about 15 minutes of arguing with two cashiers over them.  One said they should be on the pegs, one didnt know, and the manager didnt know, and finally someone said they were in the office....

Like, wtf, either get with the program or don't work there.  I for the life of me don't understand why they don't have a list of things that are on sale/free etc at the registers...

Its prolly just a LU Sting Frodo shrinkwrapped to the DVD or something...

..On an unrelated note, does anyone know where I can get either the FOTR and Armored Trolls for a decent amount that doesnt involve $40 + $12 Shipping each on Escalp?

The newline store had them lastweek but I missed out on them...

That MOS figure and horse should have just been packaged by itself.

I want it, but then I've got an extra gimli, gandalf, aragorn, and legolas I already have....

blah.

Sometimes I wish these sets they have would at least have new paint schemes or parts instead of the same stuff in a new box...

My Buffy & Angel 12" figures from Sideshow arrived today in their spectacular packaging.

They are amazing!  Absolutly amazing!  I pre ordered Spike, Faith, and Vamp Willow after seeing these in person....they look better in person than online, trust me, and the Packaging is well worth the money....even though I ripped them out...the graphics are beautiful...

Other Toy Lines / Re: Toy Companies: Who Does the Best Job?
« on: March 10, 2004, 01:09 AM »
Well, heres my take (Various lines i collect next to co. name):

Hasbro - (SW) Good company for the most part, but over produces during movie years.  Also after so many 1995 figures are re-released it gets old...

Toybiz - (LOTR) Although there are alot of repacks, for a loose collector, like me , this means for every figure released, I can skip this or that and go for new ones. also the price is low and you feel as if your getting your $5's worth of a figure..

MAC - (Buffy) TERRIBLE, TERRIBLE COMPANY.  Thank god DST pulled the buffy line out of their literal hell.  Between delays and the secrecy regarding the figures, and the utter lack of care for the fans, i have no respect for them.  sure, they put out some great sculpts, but if you cant deliever to your customers on time, you dont deserve to be in business.  At all.

McFarlane - (MM/Aliens/Pred) ASTOUNDING sculpts, although a little pricey and can be difficult to find, especially  in a town with only a TRU and Walmart and a Spencer's that doesnt carry them anymore and a KB that still has Austin Powers figures from them...Would gladly spend the extra dollar for these though because the sculpt is usually dead on.

Mattel - This is where lisences go to die, unless your name is Barbie.

NECA - i have never seen a NECA product in person, but their Ghostbuster figures are fantastic looking, as well as their gremlins.  Looking forward to both lines in the future...

I've never seen a Trilogy TW Frodo yet, but I DO have the one from the original release...*GASP* ripped from its womb, err.  Packaging.

As for a figure that I'd like to see made, a Lothlorian Haldir...in a relaxed pose...we got the one from Helms Deep, but I want a non screaming face one...

The box set has:

Fully Articulated "Chosen" White Witch Willow
Blood Splattered Vamped Willow
Dark Witch Willow w/Green Flame Accessory

also, Morgbug, there is a Faith Statue planned which IMHO looks alot better than the figures, even though it is based off of them.

coolant from open air grocery store freezers.

I spent many a super market visit with my head stuck down inside the freezers smelling it as a child, and still do it on occasion..

Watto's Junk Yard / Re: Ketchup - Dunker or Spreader
« on: March 8, 2004, 08:43 PM »
I only put ketchup on french fries.  Thats it.  It is the only food item I will eat ketchup with.

That said, I dunk, and that ketchup better not be cold.  I refuse to eat cold ketchup.  I see no point to getting a basket of hot fries, and then dipping them in 38 degree ketchup.

And if its not Heinz, forget about it all togather.

I recieved my Willows from Time & Space toys today, well, half of them anyway.

-Transformation Willow
-Season 5 Willow
-Dopplegangland Willow

the others in the box set are supposed to come in may...

These are great figures with great paint apps!  I must say, these are among the best in the entire buffy line, and thank the maker for DST taking over MAC's shoddy job of distributing the line and getting it out on time!  Bravo for a job well done!

OH! Okay that is cool.  If you do come across a Galadriel and Elrond, would you mind picking them up for me?

No prob. Next time I'm on the hunt, I will pick them up. However, I will tell you this:  Wait for a while and you are going to see them.  I was out on Saturday and I must have found 6 Arwens, 5 Gladrials, and around 6 Elronds at TRU, as well as all of the rest of the figures, en masse with the exception of Gandalf the White and the Berserker Uruk...the only two I need...

These are shipping in massive quantities.  If I found them, then YOU will too.
