Watto's Junk Yard / Re: Official Movie Thread
« on: November 21, 2005, 07:14 PM »

One thing that did bug me was that this was yet another movie where the mom is dead (what does Disney have against Moms anyway?  :P).

OT - I don't want to sound overly sensitive, but I thought that opening sequence in Finding Nemo was a little too much for the kiddies...

That's why Pixar movies are superior, they don't dumb it down for the kids. Sure it's intence, but it really gets you into the movie.

Let's not forget Bambi either. Walt was a master.

It's a shame that it ended 10 years ago.

That's why it's one of the best. Like Blackdog said, it's creator knew when to let it go.

On paper, it would be nice to get a brand spankin' new system, but I feel like I just got my xbox and I definately haven't gotten board with it yet, so I'm no in a rush either.

Although it would nice to know some if you guys do live. It might help sway me to by a subscription. ;)

Hopefully they can get some more done before the kids get too old, because it would be hard to imagine others in these roles at this point.

They're scheduling the movies to keep them all near the right age. Phoenix is close to production, if it isn't already, and should be in theaters summer '07. By then, HBP should be in production for a winter '09 release.

You know though, as I speculated earlier, I do think that the excitement has warn off a bit because these are a little easier to find than the exclusives earlier in the year. And I don't think so much the excitement from the collecting community, but as from the scalpers. I think they learned that they if they pick up some, they can move them, but if they pick up every one they can, they're going to be stuck with stuff they can't get rid of.

Would anyone want to see the vintage mini-rigs re-released? I always liked them and think they would be fun.

I'm just happy they won't be anything resembling an army builder like the covert ops trooper.

At least Penn State won the Big 10.

And in the end, that's all that matters. ;D

Go UCLA!

I'm going to have to disagree with you about the third one. Azkaban is superior to the first two in almost every way filmatically. It's agruably my favorate (not to dis the latest which is outstanding.)

Revenge of the Sith / Re: "Evolutions" assortment...

How do these sell in your area?

I'm curious because I would like to see these continue in '06 and would like to know if Hasbro can justify not continueing the line be claiming that the did not sell well.

Here in LA, CA, they are not impossible to get, but they constantly sell out in a few days. When I was in PA and NC, they were easier to find and certainly shelf warmed to a certain extent.

Lots of great suggestions here. I just want to throw my support toward this line and say that if Hasbro wants to pry more money from my fingers, they should definately continue it.

Saga Collection '06 / Re: "Behind The Mask" Collection

I think they could definately work as exclusives like the Lucas collection. It's a fun idea, however, I don't think they should waste SA on them. But that's just my opinion.

I thought those images were scanned by a member. At least that's what the member said he did.

As for the collection, I give a non-commital - interesting. Cute almost.

Top five movies in other words. That's tough. I'd have to go with:

Empire Strikes Back
Close Encounters of the Third Kind
Army of Darkness
Shawshank Redemption
Star Trek III: the Search for Spock
