I bet nobody here can guess what Gandhi's last words were after he was shot...

but the way it seems to me 50 next year means we see 10 and then the other 40 over the next two years. maybe I'm just jaded but I hope they are able to do it.

The way this year is shaping up, there's virtually nothing on pegs and it's mid-June, and I'm not terribly optimistic that I'm going to walk into a retail store and see new stuff anytime soon either.

There is literally no retail store I can go to and buy an '03 SW fig right now, or for the past 6 months.

I haven't even see the Tusken Raider yet, the library droids, the new RFT, the the Imperial Officer, Bariss, Aayla, Lama Su....

None of it.  Zero.  Nada.  Zilch.  Not a single one.

Power of the Force 2 / Re: What's the figure you hate the most?
« on: June 14, 2003, 11:37 PM »
Well, all of the main characters that came out in the first wave on steroids are horrible.

The monkey face leia that accompanied the steroid junkees was the worst one.

I agree about Momaw Nadon's weapon, it's dumb.  Especially if you read Tales from the Mos Eisley Cantina or the Guide to Alien Species, you'd know that the hammerheads (Ithorians) are pacifists.  He should have been packaged with a potted plant instead.  But the figure itself is okay.  It's got a nice head sculpt.  And I used the head and hands of a couple hammerheads on a Lott Dodd torso to make generic Ithorian senators.

Power of the Force 2 / Re: Han Solo and Taun Taun 3 3/4"
« on: June 14, 2003, 11:33 PM »
I found the Han Taun Taun, Luke Taun Taun, and Wampa all at retail for $14.99; back then the han taun taun was definitely the hardest of those three to find.  I probably only saw 3 or 4 total.  I saw it once in Electronics Boutique and a couple times at Hills Department Store in Ithaca, NY by Cornell U. where I snagged it.

Jocasta's Reading Room / Re: Darth Maul: Shadow Hunter
« on: June 14, 2003, 09:57 PM »
I read it when it first came out about 2 1/2 years ago.  Actually, I met my girlfriend by discussing this book.  I later furnished her with a copy and she dug it.  We're still together 2 1/2 years later  :D  Who knew Darth Maul could set such a romantic tone?

SPOILER

The book was phat.  My favorite scene was when Maul showed up at the Neimodian 's apt to finish him off and came under attack from the doorway after wiping out those guys sitting around the table.   The best part was when he used his lightsaber to go spinning through the wall and escape.

SPOILER

It was also cool how Lorn found Maul in the end with his back to him and could either take 1 shot with his blaster set for "kill" or 2-3 shots set for "stun".  Judging from where he hit Maul with the first shot, I bet he wishes it was set for "kill" !!!!

Right between the shoulder blades.

The Original Trilogy / Re: Endor Troopers dissapearing?
« on: June 14, 2003, 09:48 PM »
I still can't believe the Ewoks beat the Imperal Army based on Endor.  I know there were some Rebel soldiers there with the Ewoks, but there were less than 20 of them (if I remember right).  Ewoks... who needs 'em?   :P

It was all about the Dresselian commandos there.

The Prequel Trilogy / Re: Jar Jar Binks
« on: June 14, 2003, 02:38 PM »
I recently viewed the Battle of Naboo portion of my EI DVD again.  Jar Jar should have been shot about 50 times in that scene.

I wonder if gungans smell like fish filet after a blaster bolt connects.

Yes, welcome!  I dig the screenname too.  I don't know why, but it makes me picture Fett with a huge knife.

And for the few that may not recognize "HMI", perhaps the non-abbreviated version of Ben's name might ring a bell:  Hasbro's Missing Integrity...   ;)

Enjoy JD Ben!

Oh snap, that's right.  I didn't recognize you without your ewok-angled-in-odd-ways avatar.

If the SOTE line is any indicator, I think Hasbro better keep the SAGA line going simultaneously.   ;)

WalMart has just totally collapsed for me as a source for SW figures.  It's not even a factor anymore.

I have heard that you can see on Prune face or one of his species briefly behind a tree in one of the shots of the group.  I'm not sure where though except on Endor.  I think just as they are leaving the shuttle to go to the Bunker.

You have just become my sunshine in an otherwise cloudy month.

 :D

I guess they figured anyone eating at KFC could use the advice.

The advice that the sign is advertising is simply:  "Open my passenger door, get in, and let me drive you The Tofu Depot  before you eat that KFC."
